  • "be pleasantly surprised by the great food; above average portions and superb service. Can't say enough about this gem in Ventnor Heights just over Dorset Ave Bridge. Hugh selections of appetizers s and entrees. You will not be disappointed. On the night we went, place was packed It was Saturday of AC restaurant week. Noise level on the high side but vibrant-- with people and staff having a good time. Sat behind the owner and did not know it until I was raving about the food and service to the group sitting with her. My new number one place to dine out! Coz"

  • "Everything we ate was delicious. The food was dropped and we never saw anyone again until 15 min after we were done our meal. Just waited way too long between courses. We were there for restaurant week so I would think they would be expecting more business. One waiter for the whole dining room, needed more. Ordered coffee, tasted like he tried to make 3 cups out of one. Worst ever. Will give another try, hope the service is better. Food is great though."

  • "Our group was very surprised as how good the food was. Did you say big portions? Wow we all left with leftovers, very clean and great staff."

  • "Didn't know this restaurant existed, but I am happy I took the time out to review all 80 plus restaurants. I loved the fact that they offered their entire menu for Restaurant Week. I believe they were the only restaurant that did this? Also, they are a BYOB establishment, and that is a good thing. I loved their calamari appetizer, and their canoli dessert was delectible. They make their on bread. They are certainly worth a try, it is a good choice, so do it and enjoy!"

  • "This is a great Italian restaurant. I like it so much last year that I had to come back this year. The fried calamari were squizziti!! although te apple pie wasnot so hot. It wasn 't home made. The owner comes out and makes you feel welcome."

  • "The food is great, we went during restaurant week and the food was great. It is a BYOB, so make sure you bring your own wine if you like a glass with dinner. It had a great family feel to it, when you walked in the owner greets you and makes you feel right at home. Definitely recommended"

  • "We made reservations and arrived at 11 for lunch, the restaurant was open, but the staff seemed confused that we were there. They said they weren't expecting anyone so early and had to continue setting up while we were there. Very friendly and the food was great, but everyone who walked in was greeted by a confused staff member after standing in the doorway for a few moments. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and I would go again, just seemed a little bit disorganized."

  • "It was a full house. Our waitress was very sweet. We ordered & got salads shortly, but then waited 90min for entrees! it wasn't only us. they apologetized. food was good but not great. pizza oven did not get used at all. increase productivity and decrease customer wait by expanding the kitchen. i read similar experiences on yelp and trip advisor. The place is cute. I was hoping to find it better than what others experienced. I believe if they address the kitchen issue this could definitely improve."

  • "The Red Room Café has excellent homemade pastas, sea food and meat dishes. During Restaurant Week, they allowed diners to choose right from the regular menu. The portions were great and the food was delicious and presented beautifully. The restaurant is a BYOB establishment. There is a liquor store next door, so it's easy to pick up a bottle of wine to bring to dinner. The server was very attentive and pleasant. The restaurant was very busy, but not too loud to hold a conversation at our table. The décor, lighting and music all added a wonderful ambiance. We have dined at the Red Room Café a few times and have had a wonderful meal each time. We'll definitely be back!"

  • "Service and food we ok but not outstanding.. Apetisers were good - one of the main course orders was wrong and had to wait for correct order to come to the table by which time I was half way through my entree. All in all a nice little place but not memorable."

  • "Not quite sure how people would have any complaints about the Red Room Cafe. Food was absolutely fantastic, service was great and it's a BYOB! All of that, along with great company, you really couldn't ask for a better night. I would highly recommend this to anyone."

  • "One of the best values for Restaurant Week - or at any other time! Food is on par with the best Italian restaurants around. Fish was fresh, simply prepared and exquisite. Don't forget this place just because it is in the heights. Pastas are varied and each one better than the other. We'll be back and often."

  • "We always out for lunch or dinner during AC Restaurant Week. For several years, we went to the many casino restaurants and were never disappointed. But this year, we decided to hit smaller, local town establishments. One of these was The Red Room Cafe in Ventnor. We had lunch, but it was really dinner sized. It was a steal at $15. I had Chicken Vincenzo.....loaded with flavor and delicious. Hubby had the Veal with Peppers and enjoyed it...very tender and plentiful. There is a liquor store next to the restaurant if you forget to bring your own. Owners and staff very attentive and friendly."

  • "Byob's a must for me. I had a great filet mingon with a terrific sauce. My wife had the lamb chops, just ok. Pasta for starters was very light with a thick red sauce. Dessert ok. Service was just right and very amicable. Overall a very good experience and will be going back. Only a few miles from all a/c casino's."

  • "I live down the street from this great little Italian BYOB in Ventnor. As an avid gambler, I routinely convince my casino friends to leave their comp dinners behind and drive to the Red Room Cafe for dinner. Almost all have become huge fans of this neighborhood gem. There is a liquor store right next door and in the off season, street parking is not a concern. The food is fantastic: great calamari, superb meatballs and rice balls, savory sauces on traditional pasta dishes, and delicious authentic Italian fish and veal entrees as well. The atmosphere and service are outstanding in the off season but suffer just a little in the summer due to the added volume and seasonal staffing. Without question, this is my favorite local restaurant."

  • "So glad we found this place on open table. We wanted to leave the casino atmosphere for a bit an this was a perfect byob dinner place about 5 miles from the Taj Mahal casino. The food was very good except for our pizza which we ordered as an appetizer an it came burnt. Stuffed shrimp was excellent an Zuppa de Pesci good also should be served with pasta. Service a little slow so if you are in a rush to get to a show allow plenty of time. Wait staff very pleasant, large screen TVs if you want to watch a sporting event. Will come back next time I visit Atlantic city."

  • "We appreciated having an Open Table reservation on New Year's Eve for 8:00 PM. The dining room entrance area is very chilly, but we received a warm welcome and a great table. The beet salad was terrific as was the stuffed veal chop. We had no room for dessert. We would highly recommend the Red Room Cafe, a great BYOB seashore Italian restaurant."

  • "Spent a lovely New Years Eve enjoying the special menu provided. Food was excellent with an abundance of choices. We were not offered champagne toast as was advertised. However, this was a tasty and overall good experience and would definitely return and recommend to others."

  • "Understandably not as busy during off-season at the Jersey shore. This restaurant's food and service are always terrific (although we only eat seafood, so I can't speak to the quality of their meat and chicken offerings). Reasonably priced, esp since BYOB doesn't obligate overpaying for alcohol. The beet salad as a starter is not to be missed."

  • "Good rustic Italian food in a neighborhood restaurant with old dusty décor. Like many restaurants at the Jersey shore the service was quite poor."
