Welcome to the Red Room Cafe where our goal is to provide our customers with a friendly, relaxed atmosphere while enjoying a great dinning experience.

Food is our passion. We make sure that only the finest and freshest ingredients are used in preparing our dishes. We use only the best grades of meats and the freshest fish and seafood available. We bake our own bread and many of our pasta and deserts are handmade by our kitchen staff everyday. We even make our own mozzarella. We do this because we take pride in serving great food.

we have assembled a talented kitchen and wait staff who work hard to ensure that you, our customer, not only enjoy your meal but our service during your visit. We want our dining room to be a place to enjoy a pleasant evening with Friends or family.

  • "A woeful night that was so bad it was almost comic. Sat there in a cramped space in the middle of the room, my wife's chair bumped by every passing waiter. Sat there for 52 minutes waiting for our apps. Complained to owner, who soon discovered our waitress had not submitted our order. Ten minutes before apps finally arrived. Told that they were now out of halibut (ordered by 2 of the 4 in our party). Another 40 minutes before entrees arrived. Nightmare."

  • "The menu is so old that my first three choices are no longer available! Fortunately, my fourth choice was very good. The Milano salad is my favorite, and you can order a small or large size. The Caesar was also very good. Our entrees, chicken parm and linguini and clams in a red sauce, were each worth ordering. The restaurant seating is crowded so be prepared to hear your neighbor's conversation."

  • "We were disappointed with our appetizers. I Had grilled calamari appetizer and it was expensive and tasteless. My fiancé had the mussels appetizer in red sauce. The sauce was okay, but the mussels were tiny and not plentiful nor tasty. Our Friend had clams casino and he loved his appetizer! Our meals (2 orders of lamb chops and one tilapia were okay). Both lamb chops had to be sent back to be cooked some more. My tilapia was good, but was nothing outstanding. For an okay meal, the restaurant is fine, but if you are looking for really good food, go elsewhere."

  • " Specials all overpriced with respect to menu and had to ask for prices for specials; all about 50% more than items listed on menu. . I ordered veal chop; it was tasty but small. I had to ask for a sharp knife as the veal was very difficult to cut . Service was slow but dishes were removed while some of our party was still eating. It was very noisy. Have eaten here before with much better service and food."

  • "Avoid Saturday summer nights. Food is great, everyone enjoyed their meal. Service was worse than lousy. waited over one hour for two appetizers, and over an hour and a half for entrees. Then after our coffee we are told that they need our table. We would have been long gone if they brought us our meals. It they were not at least polite, they would have heard a response. Absolutely ridiculous."

  • "Our dining experience was not good. Tables are crowded together making for very narrow aisles. My chair, and those of others in our party, was continually bumped by wait staff and other patrons moving about. I tried to turn table for more room and wound up spilling my glass of wine. Buspersons were very attentive to help in cleanup but no attention paid by wait staff. It is extremely noisy - no sound baffling. In fact, because of the extreme noise level after we finished our meal we did not stay for coffee or dessert - couldn't wait to leave. Would only recommend to try in off season. Not worth the wait for food either - long delay for relatively uncomplicated dinners that were just average."

  • "We've always enjoyed the food at red room, however this past Monday we came away disappointed. I had indicated on my reservation that one member of our party had gluten issues. As we began to order the waiter informed us they had no gf pasta, even though the online & table menus advertised. I had farfalle with shrimp which was good, my sister with the gluten problem had chicken with string beans (they also had no rice or risotto, nor was a potato offered). Another guest had chicken parm & my husband had sausage, broccoli rabe & orecchiette. He said his dish was flavorless - soupy with very little broccoli rabe. Also I ended up not eating my Caesar salad, which is usually always a safe dish, as it was "mustardy" tasting, which was odd."

If you aren't willing to wait hour and a half for your entree's, then better to go another night. The food is always good though."

  • "After reading the other responses, I'm surprised they're talking about the same restaurant. While the food was good (albeit pricey), the service was left to be desired. After waiting 20 minutes for an appetizer and an additional 30 minutes for entrees, one would think that the waiter would have stopped by more than once (which conveniently happened when the owner was walking by). I also didn't really appreciate getting lectured by a member of the wait staff about how they can't "cater to customers needs" by having limes (I asked if I could have one). While this may have been a one-time bad experience, it definitely doesn't make me want to try this restaurant again -- particularly when there are so many great ones in the area."

  • "The wait staff are attentive and caring. The owner knows us by name and tries to accommodate our family or friends when we come in a larger group. The food is SOOOO good! Their halibut is the ONLY fish my daughter in law will eat. I had the crab cakes on Saturday which were light, big and delicious. Their nightly specials are not overly priced. The menu is reasonable compared to how much the restaurants on the Island have increased. And it's a BYOB."

  • "Discovered this restaurant at Ventnor's Chefs Night Out.We decided to give it a try and are glad we did. Went with another couple. We all ordered something different and everyone enjoyed their meal - chicken Limone, Sea Bass, Tilapia and a pasta/seafood dish. We were there for 3 hours. Service was good. No one hurried us to leave. Will definitely go back - also it was a little less expensive than we expected - and definitely less expensive than some of the other restaurants we go to for special occasions so will likely become our anniversary/birthday celebration go to place!"

  • "You know those old fashioned Italian restaurants that are hangouts for movie gangsters? The food looks so wonderful you could cry. Will this is the place where regular people can get that food. I got homemade pasta with bolognese. While the flavor was great, there wasn't much meat. My partner who eats his food plain got lemon chicken which was a large portion and very tasty. Next time I plan to keep it simple and order traditional favorites like meatballs and spaghetti Bread crusts were good, I don't like the fluffy insides. BYOB with a liquor store next door-rotten selection of white wines tho."

The food is good but it is evident that they are understaffed with waiters. It appears that one server was working the entire room and he was disinterested at best. If this is what its like out of season, can you imagine what it will be like after Memorial Day?"

We ordered & got salads shortly, but then waited 90min for entrees! it wasn't only us. they apologetized. food was good but not great. pizza oven did not get used at all. increase productivity and decrease customer wait by expanding the kitchen. i read similar experiences on yelp and trip advisor. The place is cute. I was hoping to find it better than what others experienced. I believe if they address the kitchen issue this could definitely improve."

  • "We made reservations and arrived at 11 for lunch, the restaurant was open, but the staff seemed confused that we were there. They said they weren't expecting anyone so early and had to continue setting up while we were there. Very friendly and the food was great, but everyone who walked in was greeted by a confused staff member after standing in the doorway for a few moments. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and I would go again, just seemed a little bit disorganized."
