  • Catering: We offer services for all occasions from weddings to corporate events. We can accommodate service for forty to four hundred. Specialized menus can be designed for all occasions with considerations for dietary and special needs.
  • Private Party Facilities: Red Pony Restaurant offers an upscale atmosphere and professional service without the white gloves in Historic Downtown Franklin. From a rehearsal dinner to private company function, Red Pony can accommodate any type of event or party. Private events at Red Pony can range from heavy appetizers for organized social gatherings to seated formal diners. Food for your private event is not confined to our menu but limited menu selections are required. There are multiple spaces available to reserve including a second floor patio for 30 guests. The upstairs dining room can seat 60 guests but if you're looking for a smaller space we have the ability to split the dining room with a floor to ceiling privacy separator. The entire restaurant or upstairs (includes upstairs dining room, deck & cocktail lounge)are also available for private events. There is a food and beverage minimum to reserve a private space. With two floors of casual fine dining (as well as an outdoor deck), Red Pony Restaurant has clearly become the favorite destination for great food on Franklin's historic Main Street. Chefs Jason McConnell and Carl Schultheis have teamed up to create a fun, wide ranging menu utilizing the freshest locally grown produce, meats and seafood. The two chefs have worked together for six years and their diverse cooking styles appear in new items daily.   • "On a road trip, met with friends who retired to Nashville. Red Pony did NOT disappoint! Server Brian was exceptional. All four of us had appetizers and main dishes that were inspired. The fried brussels sprouts and tempura sushi roll will make you a believer. Hubby went home wearing some of the sauce from our friend's Jason's Grilled Bacon appetizer (small mishap as it was being served), and our friend was sad that we washed it out, he was such a fan. Try the BLT (bacon, lobster, tomato) or the ahi tuna. You will want to come back for more the next day! Our friend had the shrimp and grits..."best meal I've ever had!" Downtown was crowded and we encountered a detour on our way...Red Pony made it worth the pain we went through to get there!"

  • "We had great service, great drinks, great appetizers, and good meals. My steak (a bone-in ribeye) was quite disappointing (quite chewy and not a flavorful as I'd hoped). Another member of my group had the elk medallions and loved her meal. The third of us had a pasta dish (primavera with shrimp added) which she judged very good but not memorable. I think the price point is a bit high, but Franklin has become a tourist town and this is to be expected. The wine markups (for bottles) were regrettably high. All in all I'd recommend this place for special occasions, but I wasn't really "wowed"."

  • "This was our first time at The Red Pony. We were here to go to Nashville and stayed in Cool Springs. Heard about Franklin thru friends and saw on the internet that the Red Pony was the place to eat, it didn't disappoint. Loved the whole experience, sat at the bar waiting for our table, great vibe and fun to people watch. Our meal was incredible, loved the Brussels sprout appetizer! The service was great and sitting upstairs was warm and cozy, they even have a bar up there too. Would definitely come back!"

  • "First experience to the Red Pony with friends (party of 6): Shortly after dinner, dessert, and our bill had been paid, we were greeted by the manger; He asked how dinner was and offered us coffee. We declined, but thanked him for offering. Then he asked to get up because they needed the table for another reservation. Never have I ever seen such a request. For the money they ask their guests to pay for a meal, this is not the kind of service one would expect. I notified the restaurant Monday, and was given an apology via email stating how unfortunate the situation was, however it has to be done because of limited seating for parties of 6 or more. Food and atmosphere was good, but the experience was ruined and could have been handled better."

They make wonderful martinis. The atmosphere is energetic. Overall, I really enjoy coming here! We sat at a table downstairs, which was nice. I like sitting at the bar with friends as well. We have also dined upstairs on the back deck, which is great on warm days!"

  • "This is my 3rd visit to The Red Pony. Absolutely outstanding. The Kung Pao calamari was amazing. The sesame crusted tuna with ponzu rice. OMG. Shrimp & grits delightful. Finished the meal with one of the best Creme brûlée. Ever. Service was top notch. Wine and spirits offerings varied and perfectly paired with our meal. The Red Pony's Moscow Mule is the best in town. This is one of the best restaurants in the metro Nashville area. Bar none. Great place to dine before a show at The Franklin or celebrate a birthday like we did. Sharing a meal with family and friends here was the perfect gift!"

Upstairs has a quieter, slightly more refined feel, downstairs is energetic (with view in to the kitchen) and informal - both deliver, and nice to be able to choose. Flavours always intriguing - roasted Brussels sprouts, cured bacon, lamb potstickers all outstanding as a starter. The lobster BLT a great dish every time, and their preparation of lamb has always been perfect. Nice to see some new additions to the menu for spring - the chicken beautifully prepared. Easily the best place to eat in the Franklin/Cool Springs area."

  • "The food was excellent. Two in our party had their BLT(bacon lobster tomato) which had a lot of lobster including the claw meat. This is one of their specialties and lived up to its reputation. My husband had snapper prepared in a banana leaf and it, too, was very good. However, our evening was ruined by a group of seven that had had way too much alcohol and were extremely loud and obnoxious. If I choose to return to this restaurant I will definitely request a table away from large celebratory parties as there is little in the dining rooms to absorb sound."

The food was great but we cannot speak highly enough of our server. She went over and above to make sure our needs were met. The free appetizer for our first visit was an added touch! Great food-we tasted the pork tenderloin, beef tenderloin, homemade guacamole, ceasar salad and the beef tenderloin pizza. Great place, food and fun. WE WILL BE BACK!!!!"

The prices are incredibly reasonable for what you receive and the ambience is active but not noisy. Our server was great. The only thing I would change is to not eat lunch next time I go as the food is very rich. So flavorful that I kept eating when already full. Easy access to parking and the reservation on open table was slick."

  • "Had not dined here in years following a shaky prior experience. Our interaction with our server (who said she had worked there for 7 1/2 years) was tenuous from the first. She just did not relate well, was poor in explaining the menu, and was far too chatty with details for which we did not ask. The filet, shrimp and grits, BLT and scallop dishes were all described as very good, but the best dish of the night was the doughnut glaze bread pudding with coffee ice cream. That went a long way in making up for the server. I would return to the Red Pony, but would see to it that I had another server."

  • "We arrived on time on a busy Saturday. They seated us right away, but we noticed we were next to a table set for ten. Worried about a raucous bachelorette party or something similar, we asked to be relocated upstairs. The hostess said the tables upstairs were all occupied, but she should have on in 30 min - we decided to wait at the bar. It took quite a bit longer than 30 min, but staff (including the manager) came by frequently to give us updates. We were finally seated upstairs, and they comped us an app. Very professional way to handle this, we felt very appreciated. Always a good meal at the Pony."

  • "We had a 5:00 reservation to make show at the Franklin Theater...got there 15 min early and enjoyed a top-notch Moscow Mule in copper mug with Gosling's Ginger Beer. Bartender was great. Wine list was great variety of domestic and international - we had a Cote du Rhone, sometimes hard to find. Dinner was superb-Asian influence, really outstanding appetizers. The calamari and the brussel sprouts; Grouper special and the Red Pony BLT-bacon, lobster & tomato for entrees. Dessert was bread pudding with a coffee ice cream & French Press coffee. We would order the same dinner all over again. Service was top notch - not pushy, comfortable and just right. Red Pony is now on our Franklin/Nashville restaurant list now for sure. We will go back."
