The food was excellent and the service very attentive and helpful. My frittata was outstanding, as was my companion's vegetable bennie. Our only concern was that it was somewhat cramped, both in how close our table was to the bar and how small it was. Once our two entrees arrived, we had to get rid of the container holding sugar packets as the plates and glasses could barely fit on the table. Our server was fantastic; extremely attentive and nice. We ordered the coconut curry mussels and they were mouth watering. The bone morrow and lambs tongue was delicious and just melted in your mouth. Everyone should order the truffle fries to snack on; they were a salty crispy burst of flavor treat. I ordered the blade steak with polenta fries and was not disappointed. My steak was cooked a perfect medium rare and it was so tender and juicy. The polenta fries complimented the dish with its salty crispiness. The texture of the polenta was right on and not dried out. The meal was a great way to celebrate my birthday. It has a fantastic location overlooking Independence Hall right under the beautiful new Hotel Moncaco. It has two floors with the top overlooking its fantastic bar. The wait staff has been exceptional both times I've dined there (once for dinner, once for brunch). They also offer a terrific Happy Hour. The "Bottomless Bellinis" with Puree Bar on Sundays makes their brunch even more amazing. Oh and don't forget their pastry bar! If you want somewhere to go that is as cozy as it is chic in a great location with a menu to remember, check this place out!
