Red O3 Stars for drinks and ambience.Went there for Mother's Day dinner & restaurant was crowded Nonetheless, the service was fantastic,
as well ambience. They gave complimentary Champagne Margaritas to all mothers and they were
really good. Ordered their spicy Margarita, which was also very good. The appetizers were delicious, but our
main courses were just mediocre. We ordered tres leches to split for dessert, which we weren't able to eat.
It was tasteless and dry.. Where were the leches? You'd thing that a high-end Mexican restaurant that offers
tres leches would at least know how to deliver. I think I would refer a friend to Happy Hour.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMI can't remember the lastI can't remember the last time I was so impressed with traditional Mexican cuisine. However, the menu offers some unique selections, like the goat cheese tamales, that you really must try. I can see how some people might think it's overrated, but I say those people have no clue what they're supposed to be getting. We can't wait to go back!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMNiche RestaurantFood is pretty unique, although a Mexican Food restaurant, seems more gourmet! Pretty pricey, but worth it! I would return!5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMAn outstanding Cinco de MayoAn outstanding Cinco de Mayo brunch. Food amazing, our waiter fantastic, and great music. I love this place!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMMucho Sabor at Red OWent to Red O the night before Cinco De Mayo with my boyfriend to enjoy some of Rick Bayless' famous food. My boyfriend is Mexican and has always loved how Bayless has honored many of the traditional dishes as well as added some fun, modern touches. We got some drinks at the bar while waiting for our table (arrived a bit early so we could do so) and when we sat down, we were happy to sit in the same spot we had been in a year or so ago for our anniversary.
The drinks were incredible, tasty as well as doing their job, and the food was incredibly tasty and filling. We had the ceviche trio - a must! - and I tried out the short rib enchiladas while my boyfriend tried a slow-cooked pork dish. All in all a great meal!!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat foodLoved the food. Great food, service, and
nice ambiance. I will be going back real soon.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMI love this place. Red OI love this place. Red O and its people never fail me.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat service. Food and drinksGreat service. Food and drinks designed for a very specific palate in mind, not very authentic. I was actually expecting cheese on my queso fundido. Despite this, the Woodland Mushroom cazuela was very tasty. I guess this is an interpretation of the concept of a quesadilla in DF. The trio ceviche sampling was also good. The Alacrán margarita was not as hot as advertised.
A failed attempt to combine a street food menu in a high scale restaurant. This helps to explain the high price for the pollo en mole poblano. Great menu conception, just not the proper execution.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMFood is great, service isFood is great, service is friendly and the atomosphere is ecclectic and beautiful. NEver had a bad experience here.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMEveryone is really nice here,Everyone is really nice here, and the scene is fun.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Mexican Food in Los AngelesBest Mexican food in Los Angeles. The Ceviche Trio is fantastic, as are the three tacos. The service is excellent, and the warm greeting we've received every time we've been there is appreciated.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food. We live in ChicagoGreat food. We live in Chicago and are huge fans of Rick Bayles' Chicago restaurants. Red O was another great Rick Bayles experience. His mastery of sophisticated Mexican food is unparalleled.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWent to Sunday brunch withWent to Sunday brunch with my siblings to celebrate a birthday. It was our first time there. The ambience and decor is excellent. Service was first rate. Waiters and staff are young, professional, and down to earth. We did not tell the waitress it was my sister's birthday but she picked up on it and brought dessert out with a candle. Food was fresh but nothing spectacular. It is Mexican and we are in LA so of course there's better for much less.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is our third time atThis is our third time at Red O. Food is fantastic, ambiance is terrific and service is one of the best. We are planning on eating there many more times!3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good, upscale mexican foodAs other reviewers have said, this restaurant is expensive for mexican food. The food, however, is generally very good, our service was great and the atmosphere is fun, especially for out of town guests or groups. the mole is only okay, and we enjoyed the enchiladas with the verde sauce more. The guacamole was fresh and tasty, and the tuna ceviches were delicious. The desserts, especially the apple crumble, were excellent as well. Finally, the spicy margaritas are worth gong to Red O on there own.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have been to Frontera GrillWe have been to Frontera Grill in Chicago, and could not wait to visit Red O. I am happy to say that we had a perfect experience. Every person we encountered was attentive, helpful, and courteous. We arrived about 10 minutes prior to our 6pm reservation, hoping to sit early due to the 8pm show we had scheduled at the Pantages. We waited at the bar and began to sample the tasty drinks; our favorite was the La Dama, with pomegranate. We were seated as soon as the restaurant opened by the excellent server. The food was delicious and well presented. My only suggestion is to lighten up on the Chipotle. I can only take so much, yet it was in 3 of the 4 dishes we ordered.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful space, great foodBeautiful space, great food and drinks . Will definitely go back3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMDon't Miss Red O!The decor is like being on an exquisite tropical island: two-story ceiling with creamy long shear drapes and beautiful patio furniture. The food is every bit as great as the decor. Amazing Mexican gourmet food. Can accommodate vegans. Wonderful service. They have a hallway with lighted glass containing liquor bottles that leads to their lively bar. I dined there twice last week and was happy both times.3/7/2013 12:00:00 AMMexican food with a twist.Mexican food with a twist. What a wonderful experience!12/22/2012 12:00:00 AM
