Red MedicineExtraordinally unique creativeExtraordinally unique creative dishes and delicious . Very thoughful menu prep and a great dining experience. Try the the prix fixe menu for new sensations.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMfairy foodThis is the food that the Gods eat on Mt. Olympus. Dinner was awesome! Try anything with pork or marrow the chef throws on the menu. Have the Green Strawberry for desert. Wow! What a meal.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMtasting menu funWhile on vacation this was the one place I really wanted to visit. I saw pictures of the tasting menu on a blog and had to make it out there. It was so good! I ended up getting the beverage pairing along with it. It was mainly wine; there was a beer and a vermouth type of drink served, too. It was mother's day, so there were a lot of kids there. Not sure if it's normally like that. I wish I lived in that area so I could go again!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMExpensive but a dealCreative and relentlessly experimental, most of the time the food was also extremely satisfying. The tasting menu would cost twice what it did if it were in a "white tablecloth" environment, and it was, for a change, a significant amount of food. Not everything works equally well but I would definitely go back for more.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMRed Medicine is Good For YouFood is very imaginative and superb. Service from all the service staff better than you could want. Pricey but worth it, and I'm cheap.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMA terrific bite by bite adventureRed Med is walking an interesting path. The "Vietnamese" part should just be jettisoned all together even though there are caveats that come with that descriptor on the website. This is truly artful adventurous food with a strong Asian influence. Example: The trout roe which is listed on the tasting menu, but not on the regular menu and yet still available a la carte is presented as if it were a beautiful floral arrangement in largish glass shell. This dish is so good it made me giggle on taking the first bite. Everything else we had was equally inventive, artful, and tasty. I have added Red Med to my A list that includes Bazaar, Rivera and a few others. Worthy & wonderful. Be advised there is no valet, call the resto first to get the scoop4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMProbably the best food I haveProbably the best food I have had in a very long time. Well worth every penny. Great Job Red Medicine staff.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMA memorable mealGreat dinner with a beautiful arrangement of dishes. A restaurant that must be tried. My only surprise was the price of a hot scallop dish for $85 that wasn't stayed or marked as Market Price. Bill for 4 people including cocktails and two bottles of wine was $500, excluding tip.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing, original combinationAmazing, original combination of flavors in every dish. I wish I could have had everything on the menu! Red Medicine is pricey though otherwise I'd be a weekly regular. Overall, a very memorable meal!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a great experience. What a great experience. I took a group of 6 here and every dish elicited "oooo's" and "ahhhh's" from everyone. It winds up kind of pricey, but it's worth every penny!! One of LA's most unusual and very best restaurants!!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is as unique in tasteThe food is as unique in taste as it is in presentation. A true dining experience. Service was very good though timing between portions could be a bit better.
We were least happy with the noise level.
We had the tasting menu and enjoyed it very much. Well balanced and inventive flavors.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMFood is amazing, staff wasFood is amazing, staff was nice!
I get it about the reservations thing and frankly I don't care. I make my reservations and understand the cost/loss of a table which is why I show up for them.
Great restaurant!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMRed Medicine not only hasRed Medicine not only has unique and delicious dishes, but they are absolutely beautiful!3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWe took 2 of our dear friendsWe took 2 of our dear friends for dinner, they love to eat good food and were amazed with everything one of them loved the
brussels sprouts he kept saying wow! wow! and the other friend loved loved his Heritage Pork. Cocktails were fabulous. And
desserts were a knockout. Thank you chef Jordan and all the staff that made our experience so wonderful. Our friends were
very impressed!3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMINCREDIBLE experience! This was the most incredible epicurian experience/journey we have ever had. There are no words to describe the food - fantasy? Maybe other-worldly? Just go. Forget adjectives and try the orange dessert with the almond/marzipan top and bubbles in the bowl. Oh - and the soy custard dish and the eggplant and - dear me - just GO! You will think you have died and gone to foodie heaven...3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMSimply awesome. I had beenSimply awesome. I had been hearing great things, and I wasn't disappointed. One of the better restaurants I've been to in LA.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMHad an enjoyable time andHad an enjoyable time and the food was a wonderful adventure. Service was nice in the beginning, but a letdown overall. I was a little disappointed that our server missed details like preventing us from ordering two dishes similar in textures, style, and presentation, and that he did not make a point to apologize for the "staff miscommunication" that caused us to have to ask him twice for the check. Would recommend that everyone who appreciates food as art go once, and hope for more attentive service.2/2/2013 12:00:00 AM1. I was a little put off1. I was a little put off by the ad hoc parking ...the neighbors renitng out parking at $8 and $15 dollars...
2. the food was good..but a little too cute
3. the chicken meatball riff on Thai lettuce wraps was very good..the presentation on deviled egg trays was convenient...but the miniscule amount of the sauces was a joke
4. I do not mind a set gratuity on large parties..in fact I think it is fair for the wait staff.but 20% on top of tax is pushing it
I am glad I went ..it was good..for the money I have places I like far better12/29/2012 12:00:00 AMThe food and service was fantastic. The food and service was fantastic. The dishes are exquisitely plated. Zero complaints. I hope they make it, the place was a little on the quiet side.1/1/0001 4:00:00 PM
