"Awesome new restaurant in the Gaslamp. Great variety in the menu.
You could tell that this place has a top chef.
Drinks were terrific and very unique.
Great food and service.

"Excellent food (we had the duck dish, prime meats entree, shisito peppers, mac n cheese, risotto, tempura lobster, and three different cocktails (apple cider, red bell pepper, and green light) - EVERYTHING WAS EXCELLENT. Main things that could use some help: bring in more people for a better vibe midweek dining times, prices on entrees/drinks are pushing it, and need to partner with Mogl! Otherwise, superb place and one of our new favs!"

"We wanted to try a new restaurant in the Gaslamp so I went to Open Table to read reviews. I thought the reviews for Red Light District were good and the menu looked good. We weren't disappointed! We started with the special foie gras appetizer that was very good, combining dark chocolate and foie - very nice. The mushroom, brussel sprout hash was well done and butternut squash soup amazing! We split an entree, the prime meats. We could cut the steak and short ribs with a fork, they were so tender. We enjoyed this meal more than any of other new restaurants we have visited - and we paid less! We will be back!"

"Food and service were top notch. Chef Jason is the real deal and his menu is rivaled in downtown only by Cafe Chloe, Jsix and the US Grant for creativity and execution. HOWEVER, in our opinion this is not a comfortable spot to enjoy upscale cuisine. The room is dominated by a large, sleek, expensive bar. The dining tables seem to be an afterthought and are just too close to the bar and its crowd. Music probably perfect for the bar crowd, but a loud distraction for diners."

"The bar and large booths provide fun and spacious seating areas, but the single tables are all very close together. If you're sitting at a 2-top or 4-top, it is way too close to the table next to it."

"The restaurant's theme was enticing! Very adult yet very tasteful. They have several proprietary cocktails. My girlfriend enjoyed the Watermelon and I liked the Mole Manhattan. The Red Bell Pepper tasted way too much like...well...a red bell pepper. Bacon Fat Mac & Cheese appetizer was incredible! For dinner we had the Meat & Potatoes, and the Trout. Both cooked to perfection and delicious. Our waitress was good and the bus boys were attentive. We felt well taken care of."
