A word from Red Lantern CT
Red Lantern is unlike anything Foxwoods has ever seen before. With a capacity of 225 people, Red Lantern is modeled after its sister property in Boston, and features a redesigned open kitchen, full sushi counter and lounge area. Once again designed by the award-winning Peter Niemitz, the space also features 66 lanterns hanging overhead with the entrance marked by oversized, red ceremonial doors. Featuring a large leather, wraparound couch, high-back red club chairs, black tufted club chairs and acupuncture lamp statues throughout, Red Lantern Connecticut has the same feel so many have fallen in love with, in its Boston counterpart.

Diner Reviews
  • "Well worth it! We got the pu pu platter and a sushi boat for two and it was amazing! Our waitress was great and extremely knowledgable. We'll be back for sure!"

  • "It took forever for 1 bartender to serve our group and the waitress was equally slow. Food just ok. Lobster dish looked great but none of us thought it tasted that great."

  • "This was one of the best Japanese restaurants I have ever been to. The prices are a little high for a normal dinner, but the food did not disappoint. Appetizer, drinks, and main entree were all delicious. Staff was pretty helpful when needed, and the service was moderately quick. I would dine there again!"

  • "This place was super duper loud. Not the people but the music. I get it. They want a "cool" dancey atmosphere but this was too much and too loud. The music was outdated EDM- not really mixed well or anything."

  • "very expensive Chinese food with a limited menu. quality and quantity was good, but not worth the $$"

  • "I dined here with a party of 8 for my 30th birthday. We arrived at the restaurant and had to wait about 20 minutes for our table despite my reservation. Our bill came to 500.00. We paid 520.00 in cash and 80.00 on a cc ( this 600.00 amount included our tip). The person who paid by cc ended up being charged the entire 500.00 bill plus the 80.00 that they were supposed to be charged and the 520.00 in cash seemed to disappear!! Weirdly- they were only given the 80.00 receipt I hope the 520.00 wasn't stolen by our waiter. HUGE inconvenience for such a pricey dinner. Overall I would say my 30th birthday dinner was a success, but the mixup certainly put a damper on my weekend when the bank called the following day to let us know what happened."

  • "The food was good, not great, and for the price it should be great. Very nice atmosphere, but overpriced for what you get."

  • "The atmosphere was my favorite thing about this restaurant, and the food and service were great too."

  • "Had an enjoyable dinner with spouse. Table was alongside another that was empty - may not have been quite as romantic had someone been seated there. Surprised by the size of the meals that were served, more than enough for a meal."

  • "Had dinner with 2 friends at Red Lantern at Foxwoods; the food was great and the drinks were very, very good. The techno music is a little too loud! At some times it was difficult to converse over the music."

  • "We chose this restaurant because they have great sushi. Service was good even though they were very busy. But getting a seat on a holiday was difficult even with a reservation."

  • "This restaurant is outstanding. It was New Years Eve and they informed is they were 30 minutes late with seating. It ended up being 45 mins late but the Manager bought us drinks Without even asking or complaining. The entire staff was extra Accommodating to everyone waiting. They definitely know how to treat their customers And the food is phenominal"

  • "We dined at Red Lantern on New Year's. The surf & Turf, Lo Mein, House Fried Rice & PuPu platter were all amazing! We will definitely return. The only downside was the couches. Who wants to eat dinner on a couch?! Just ask for a regular table and you'll be fine."

  • "The restaurant is beautiful. Waiters are great! Sushi was amazing. I recommend the Idaho Roll and the Spicy Salmon!"

  • "I loved the atmosphere of this place. The food was great, the service was exceptional, and the drinks were awesome as well. Our waiter was very insightful and answered any and all questions we had. He also made a few recommendations as well which we tried and were great. The Service Manager, Lindsey also checked in to make sure everything was cooked up to our liking and ensure our service was prompt and accurate. The vibe was friendly and definitely a spot I will go back to."

  • "The food was very good, particulalry the Singpaore Noodles. The Hot and Sour soup was "Hot" wihtout the "Sour". While it was chock full of goodies in it, it could have used a little more sour. The wait staff was attentive and efficient. The ambience was nice, but the driving electronic music wasnt something I expected in an Asian restaurant."

  • "The were extra charges for whiskey and Martinis without ice. My husband and I go out all the time and we've never been charged extra for such thing. As for the service it was very poor."

  • "Love this place. So convenient now that it's @ MGM. Food us delicious and the portions are huge. The drink menu is what gets me every time, there are so many signature cocktails to choose from!! And the price is no surprise. Everyone from the hostess to the bartender to the waitstaff has been friendly and welcoming every time. I look forward to my next visit."

  • "the music was so loud and the lights were too low. the food was better the last time i was there but this week, it wasn't too appealing. don't know the reason but was not satisfied, the place had techno music too loud, the lighting was too low. not impressed..."

  • "This was my first time going to the Red Lantern in Foxwoods, the wait staff was very helpful and they knew everything on the menu. Meg the restaurant manager was a great help with showing use the new menu. The food and drinks where great can't wait to go again"

  • "LOW KEY WITH AMBIENCE, thus allowing a romantic dinner or conversation among friends (at least near the dinner our as I imagine late night is more lively with the bar-club downstairs) prior to catching a show at the casino. Asian restaurant with standarde and unique sushi options, along with standard cooked options, and an extensive beer, mixed drinks, whine list. Due to its vicinity within the MGM grand, excellent place to catch dinner prior to catching a show at the theatre. The cost of your bill can roll up quickly with drinks in sushi, but for a special occasion or a night out, worth it."

  • "Went here on a Friday night and the service was great. The food was excellent. My wife and shared the potstickers to start and they had a tasty soy glaze on them. My wife got the tuna sandwich which is some sort of lightly battered sushi, highly recommended. I got General Tso's Chicken which was very flavorful and huge portions. I highly recommend this restaurant if find yourself at MGM Grand Foxwoods."
