we were a party of 10. everyone seemed to enjoy the food. My entree was supposed to be prepared medium rare and it was served medium well. i sent it back and had to wait for a new dish. everyone else was finished eating by the time my meal was served.

Not a good day to rate this place. Food was good as usual but after talking this place up to a friend for months the service was seriously disappointing. I'll just mark this as a bad day for a new day manager and staff. My friend was not impressed!!

My group arrived and we were impressed with the decor. However it went downhill from there. The service was extremely slow and inattentive. We ordered burgers-medium, but received well done with the cheese not fully melted. Also our food was very salty. At the end I ordered a surprise birthday dessert. Although the campfire sundae was delicious. The servers ruined the surprise by resetting the table before bringing the sole surprise birthday dessert..to the wrong person.

We waited at least 15 minutes for someone, anyone to come to our table to ask us if we wanted a drink. Bus boy brought us a bill for another table before we had even eaten then brought us food that belonged to another table. When it came time to pay our own bill, my husband brought it to our waitress so we could get out of there ASAP. Felt the menu was limited. Ended up having a burger - nothing special.

Waiter might have been new because he wasn't familiar with the menu The glass doors out to the deck were streaked from their attempt to clean them which was a turn off Some of the dishes weren't hot when served It took too long for the main course to be served No one came around to refill our water glasses until we were waiting for the check

Food was fantastic. The minted split pea soup is delicious and the ribs were delicious. Husband had the NJ cheesesteak which he said was also great. However, the standout of the night was the Lemon Drop Martini. I was not only the best I ever had but the prettiest! Kudos to Antonio the bartender!

Having our wedding at Galloping Hills in November and wanted to show our families the location! Same chef does the food at the Red Knot and for the banquet area upstairs for weddings. Enjoyed giving some dishes a taste to test out for our wedding and our official tasting coming up. Great food and menu rotates to encourage you to try some of their different dishes. The outdoor seating is enjoyable, scenic and well shaded. More than a golf course, the Red Knot is an excellent hidden restaurant hidden within the links. Looking forward to our wedding this fall!

I went to this restaurant once last month and it was very good and the short ribs were delicious. we scouted out the menu online before going and decided to have the short ribs again only to show up and find out that they changed their menu the night before but hadn't updated their website. I went with pizza which was really good and also their campfire dessert I get each time and it's delicious! The service is decent but towards the end of the night the servers pay more attention to cleaning up the dining room than they do making sure you received your coffee with your dessert :/

I've eaten in lots of golf course clubhouses and this one is no different or better....just pricier. Service of the young waitstaff reminded me more of a Friendlys than a better restaurant. And the place is dark, dark, dark...not in the romantic way. It was also loud, probably more than usual, as many were watching the World Cup final. Although it lacks ambience, the views of the course are lovely if you have a seat close enough to the windows. I would have been severely disappointed by the experience in total except that the skirt steak was very good - tender, cooked properly and marinated in a tasty chimichurri sauce.

We had dinner at sunset on the patio and enjoyed the lovely expansive view of the golf course. The lime scallops appetizer was fabulous, as was the skirt steak and the s'mores sundae. Top notch food. Servers were inexperienced, but having read the reviews prior to dining, we were prepared for that. My friend's burger looked fabulous but was overcooked. We were given the choice of eating in or out, and although it was pleasant outside, we had to deal with lots of smoking, which was unexpected and annoying. If we were told the patio was a smoking section, we would have gladly eaten inside. We will be back and will eat inside.

I will definitely be dining again, although the night we went was a very slow holiday night everything was terrific, we didn't get to eat out side due to a windy night but the views of the golf course we're beautiful. The service was very good, but as I said on a very slow night, interested to see on a busy night if it would be just as good.

First timer at Red Knot. Reserved a time for the special Father's Day brunch that was advertised through OpenTable as well as advertised on Red Knot's website and emails. I chose Red Knot mainly because the Galloping Hill golf course is my husband's favorite place to be and the forecast hinted at a beautiful day. For Father's Day they offered a "Cookout" on the porch. Unfortunately, I had to ask several of the staff for just a piece of lettuce and tomato to top my burger, which eventually came to me personally at our table (but what about the other diners that may have wanted some at the main buffet table?). The food and dining experience was below my expectations, but it was the ambience that made up for it.

The public dining venue at the newly renovated Galloping Hill Golf Course was overall a pleasant surprise. The food was good and nicely presented. Service was TERRIBLE. Took over an hour to get our food. Never received my french onion soup and one of our orders of pizza was cold. One person in our party ordered the braised short ribs, was told 20 minutes later that they ran out. Was given a half order along with some skirt steak to fill the order. Waitress was inattentive and the manager only stopped by once showing minimal concern. The only person that seemed concerned and tried to help was the bartender, I believe her name was Erin, not sure. The restaurant did make it good in the end by not charging for dessert and only charged for one round of drinks. We will return again, hopefully with better service.

Went to Red Knot for Easter Brunch and it was horrible! We had a reservation but did not get seated for 25min. The brunch options were limited and what was available was COLD. We ordered omelets from the made to order station figuring they would at least be hot... they were hot but the toppings were not - cheese wasn't melted, onions raw, etc.. The service was no better. The waitress couldn't remember any of our drink orders. She broke a glass on our table and left it there until we called her back over to clean it up. We complained to the manager about both the service and cold food and nothing was done about either. Our party of 6 stayed for just about an hour and left...and ate elsewhere. Such a disappointment, will never return.
