Truly a great spot.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMMy Favorite Restaurant!Red Ginger is my number one favorite restaurant for special occasions and dining with friends. The food and service are outstanding. For example I ordered a glass of wine that turned out to be much dryer that I imagined. When I mentioned this to the waiter she made several suggestions then offered to bring me sample of another wine of my choosing. The sample was delicious and the waiter replaced my original order with the wine I preferred. There are many great selections on the menu. The sea bass is outstanding. The fish is seared to golden brown. It is tender and buttery flavored. Be aware that it is noisy up front near the bar so if you are looking for a quieter dining experience, ask for a table at the back.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMSurprising findWas surprised to find this restaurant. It had a very urban feel. Excellent service and good menu choices. We had an early reservation and were seated in the back, so noise level was not too much of an issue. The quality of the meat was top notch - I even asked if that particular cut was available as an entree, and it is. Great rolls - very affordable. It was a foolish mistake, and a major disappointment.
Although my daughter enjoyed her braised short ribs, my sample suggested that someone had dropped a tube of lipstick into the sauce -- waxy and chemical tasting. The menu is incredible. We wanted to try everything on the menu. The Sushi was so fresh and the sake...Yum! The food was excellent, the service was wonderful, the seating was perfect for us. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation and were greeted graciously and took a seat at the bar where we were immediately served a glass of wine. Before we got half way through the glass our table was ready and we were introduced to our service team. We immediately ordered an appetizer and settled in to our very comfortable table. The the appetizer came and we ordered a couple of sushi rolls. The food was all served efficiently, looked and tasted incredible. Another sushi roll, dessert, and coffee later and we left extremely satisfied.

The atmosphere is like traveling
to another galaxy altogether. The food is so deliciously and carefully prepared that I am
literally blown away every time I go there. It is so popular that it does get a little loud
but the service is so excellent and the food, place, and view are so special that we go there
for our special occasions, special evenings, and any time that we are able. I live 85-90
miles away and last week I went all the way to Traverse City just to share Red Ginger with
a new friend of mine. And we were thrilled all over again. I am glad to be a part of Open
