  • "This is one of our favorites, for sure; and that says a lot since TC is more and more known as a "foodie" town. This visit was no exception, although, sadly less than an hour after our leaving, was the collapse of the support column! So glad no one was injured! The staff is to be commended for their handling of the evacuation. Our thoughts and prayers are with RG owners and employees, and we will be anxiously awaiting it's return! Best to all! "

We have read reviews regarding smaller portion sizes but thought our portions were plenty. We were very satisfied and would plan on going back next time in T.C.   • "We enjoyed a lovely meal and a unique one especially for this area! Service was quite attentive and the food was good. The atmosphere seemed more big city hot spot than anything else. The only thing which might be a turnoff for some is the noise level which can be deafening. Your vocal chords will be worked out to the max! Some other reviewers objected to the higher prices, although I found there was a nice price range to keep everyone happy. Personally, most Americans should be eating smaller portion sizes and if they are delicious ones, all the better."

  • "I have taken son to eat with me at Red Ginger at least 4 times (with reservations) and each time, the hosting staff always seems to place us at some of the worst tables in the restaurant (always right by the kitchen). This time, I arrived with both of my sons (ages 10 and 13), and it happened again. Since it was my birthday, I asked if we could be moved to a better table. After minutes of back and forth conversation between our hostess and the front desk hostess, they moved us over one table, yet there were many open tables in many better spots. At this point, I give up. My husband and I frequent Red Ginger on a regular basis and this never happens when it's just us two. This treatment of patrons with children could be better."

  • "We dined here on Friday night, 4/25/2014. We started with the crab fritter and potstickers for an appetizer. The crab fritter was fresh and delicious. The potstickers were good, but unremarkable, imho. We shared a main course, which was a shrimp Thai curry. It was out of this world. We LOVE Thai and were a little apprehensive, but boy were we glad we ordered it. The shrimp were perfectly done. The curry sauce was fresh, aromatic, delicate and just phenomenal. They had a good wine list, as well. And our waitress, Rachel W. was FANTASTIC. Knowledgeable, helpful and attentive. We can't wait to get back up to Traverse City to dine at Red Ginger!!!"

  • "We came in from out of town and since my wife is Korean, we thought we would especially enjoy a new asian restaurant. We came hungry, and unfortunately, we left hungry. The portions were especially small (jokingly small). We have alot of experience with asian cuisine and restaurants, and we have never seen such a tiny serving of Kung Pao Shrimp (especially for $20+). There was a lack of diversity in the vegetables within the dish, and the seasoning was noticeably non-asian. The environment was nice, though loud. The waiter was nice and polite, but the other waitress helping for our table was fairly grumpy. All in all, the Subway sandwich that we had to eat after our dinner (as we were still hungry), was more satisfying. "

  • "I live in Traverse City and we have some great restaurants here but Red Ginger is consistently one of the very best, and the one I frequent the most. Chef Dan has created a chic urban feel that embraces the history of Traverse City, high-quality food that is complex in flavor, and attentive but not pushy service. Other restaurants should pay attention to what Red Ginger is doing because no one else seems to offer the entire package. My two sisters and I have already been their twice this week and so have my parents, all in mixed groups. Well done, Red Ginger. It feels like Chicago but with the coziness of being at home."

  • "Our experience with Red Ginger never disappoints. We were served by two servers who tagged teamed efficiently and professionally through out the evening. The food was excellent. We started with the featured sushi roll which proved to be fresh and well prepared, very tasty. The following salad was crisp and flavorful. We enjoyed the Chinese ribs...a new favorite that we will long for every time we are in traverse city, I am sure. Desert was a perfect balance of rich ess, sweetness and lightness in chocolate.The bottle of wine was reasonably priced and paired well with the entire meal. And finishing with a cup of excellent decaf espresso was a wise move. In short, we loved it!"
