Red FishAs always, great food, atmosphere. As always, great food, atmosphere. Very enjoyable experience.12/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful menu from startersWonderful menu from starters to dessert. The oysters were fresh, fried smelts cooked perfectly and both the arctic char and black cod were flavorful. Cocktails were sub par but the wine list was good. Service was slow but it seemed like they were short staffed, very friendly and accurate though.
Will definitely recommended and be back.11/1/2013 12:00:00 AMNice little neighbourhood findVery nice little restaurant. The fish was extremely well prepared. Other non-seafood options are available however the fish is probably the best choice for those who enjoy it. Service was prompt and pleasant.10/4/2013 12:00:00 AMredfish morefish pleasethe food here was so well prepared, and the flavour matches were inspired. we all had completely different kinds and styles of fish, and everything was creative and fresh. Their sustainable fish policy is great too. We are keen to try brunch and the sunday fish fry, too. thank you to all the staff, they were very capable and attentive - we weren't the average diners, I think, when our first order was brussels sprouts. :) We felt welcomed and comfy. I can't wait to go back.10/4/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food and great service.Excellent food and great service. Only thing I wish is that the seats were a bit more comfortable and the dining area more spacious. We had a great time and will be back!9/3/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was great and theThe food was great and the service was even bettet9/2/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent sustainable seafoodAwesome place. Out server was friendly and helpful with the menu - despite being the owner's daughter, she helped steer us away from items that would have been more of a "miss". A great all around experience and love the uniqueness of their menu. Also the Malbec we had was perfect.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMTried Red Fish with a GrouponTried Red Fish with a Groupon which we love to use to discover new restaurants. We really enjoyed our dinner (one arctic char and one rainbow trout). Unfortunately they had run out of the whitefish but would definitely come back to try it another time. The sticky toffee pudding for dessert was recommended and was delicious!!6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMSuch well done fish! We hadSuch well done fish! We had the arctic char, rainbow trout and cioppino, all of which were superb. The service was great - slow because they were a bit short-staffed, and a side dish came late because he forgot to put the order in - but then he was the only person manning the entire restaurant. Despite this, he was wonderfully friendly and helpful. We will definitely be coming back for more.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day BrunchThe elegant white table cloths absorbed the ambient sound. Music was pleasant and played at a reasonable volume (The Carpenters, Glenn Miller).
Our waitress was excellent, friendly and attentive.
I started off with a delicious mimosa and my son had cappuccino which was spiked with a touch of espresso.
The food was interesting and very tasty. I had the octopus hash which had interesting textures and was delicate in taste, topped with 2 perfectly poached eggs and laid over a serving of finely chopped hash brown potatoes.
The sour dough toast pieces tasted deep fried ( a little greasy tasting).
For dessert we shared a copious sticky toffee pudding with subtly flavoured cardamon ice cream.
Overall wonderful meal.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMSunday Brunch at Red Fish May 2013We had omlettes and our friend had the eggs benedict. We love our omlettes. They came with a few well-seasoned crispy potato chunks a slice of watermelon and two small pieces of bread. The regular coffee was pretty good. Very clean, pleasant service, love the clean white table clothes and napkins, kinda funky but in a fesh way.
Chairs could be more comfotable and the music coiuld be more interesting. They moslty played the Guess Who and the Carpenters.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat local spotDo yourself a favour and check out Red Fish. It's a wonderful restaurant with delicious food, not over priced and very good staff.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMReally fantastic neighbourhoodReally fantastic neighbourhood restaurant with a really reasonably priced menu! The restaurant is dedicated to sustainable fishing, and yet still manage to keep their prices down (mains in the mid 20s). Service is fantastic and really accommodating, and the chef takes a really interesting approach to his use of ingredients. Well worth it!5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing!!My girlfriend and I had the Rainbow Trout main and I can honestly say it was one of the best fish dishes I've ever had. The trout was cooked to perfection. The ahl, curried onion puree, cauliflower that were presented with dish were amazing. Red Fish was a pleasant surprise, considering I've been able to experience most of the top rated restaurants in Toronto. I will definitely be back!!3/4/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic service. GreatFantastic service. Great Food. I had the octopus ssam appetizer and shrimp and grits main. Both were very good. The appetizer was a dish that I've never tried and a welcome surprise. My friend's ordered cioppino which she said was good to the last drop. My friend and I hadn't seen each other in a long time and we lingered for a long time afer dinner catching up. The waitress was very accommodating and we felt very welcomed. Will definitely go there again.2/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat night outGreat meal and Great service, exactly the recipe for a perfect night out. I can't wait to try there brunch menu. Looking forward to a return visit. Thank you Jamie!!2/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Addition to the NeighbourhoodMy girlfriend and I decided to check this place out after I read a good review somewhere and could not have been more impressed. We both loved the Steelhead trout Rillettes and we were also quite satisfied with our mains (Shrimp & Grits for me and Arctic Char for her). They've done extensive renovations since taking over from Mitzi's and the place looks great. The pacing of our meal was just right and the service friendly, but not intrusive. The place was not busy on the night we went, but I'm hoping we just caught them on a quiet night or that business is still ramping up since they've only been open for a few months. We definitely plan on returning!7/12/2012 12:00:00 AM
