I go to Red Fish Grill whenever I'm attending a show/concert. Service is impeccable and menu is perfect for an early dinner before a show. Eclectic customer base given Bourbon St location. Great bar and great food.

I still would rank it as one if my fave NOLA restaurants though. A few menu items have disappeared and the prices have gone up. It was really loud but it was a Friday night. I still love it for grilled fish though and a great bar and wine list. It's more modern and updated than most NOLA restaurants. Would go back.

Great food and a wonderful waitress. Had a good time and a very fun place. Lucky for us we were just about done when they let 4 guys in that had been drinking and they were very loud and could of cleaned up their language. Up until then things were wonderful and lucky we were leaving when we did.

We took our 13 year old and a friend! Our table was ready when we arrived for our reservation. The service was attentive and not obtrusive. The redfish with lump crabmeat was excellent. The teens really enjoyed being able to choose a fish and a sauce and because the sauce came on the side try each others. Had a lovely well made cocktail- Summer lemonade which I would recommend. Easy walk to the Saenger theater and not to far off Canal to go with children(we do not take our teens onto Bourbon Street normally). Can definitely recommend!

We happened to sit next to a table where the laughter level was very elevated. There were 3 sisters that had a similar laugh, and it was a very loud laugh. I think another level needs to be add which should read "loud." Having said that, the food was very good and the service was fantastic.

We travel to New Orleans every spring and fall. Redfish Grill has become one of our favorites. The restaurant is beautiful on the inside, service is great and the food is fantastic. Our favorite is the wood grill redfish with crabmeat and the bread pudding is to die for. The only complaint I have for this visit is that it seemed very loud, especially the table behind us. We couldn't hear ourselves talk but could hear everything next to us. Really can't blame the restaurant though.

  • Rushed Buffet atmosphere
    Disappointed
    Dined on 10/14/2014
The service was poor. It seems to be extremely rushed. Much like a buffet where they rush you in and rush you out to get the highest turnover possible. Half the food was cold, two appetizers and one entrée came out at the same time within minutes of ordering. This means it was obviously not made fresh but pre prepared and kept under a poor heating lamp. With all of the excellent restaurants in this area, this is surely one to skip.

We arrived on time for our reservation and we were told we had a twenty minute wait. We then explained to them we had theatre tickets and that would make us late. Enjoyed Red Fish Grill on first visit and stay on Bourbon Street. We flew in from the northeast and had reservations at Red Fish Grill. Food was superb! Waiter was energetic and attentive even in midst of a crowded restaurant. Recommended the restaurant to our friends attending the same business conference. Would encourage others to experience the Red Fish Grill on Bourbon Street -- one of the best restaurants on the street, for sure! We weren't exactly up to the moderate noise after a long day of travel, but the food definitely perked us up again! Attractive, clean interior, too. We were influenced by great on-line reviews which proved to be true.

Wow - we really enjoyed dinner here. My wife had the Red Fish and I had the Gumbo Shrimp. Both meals were great. The chocolate bread pudding was nice as well. The place is large, so even though it is not a chain - you have a ton of people coming and going. The waiter was very nice, although very busy. There was a small wait even though we had reservations, which didn't bother me - it was maybe 5 - 10 minutes which we sat at the bar just for enough time to get a drink. There was some time between ordering our meal and receiving it - but that was not terrible either, although I did notice it. I would certainly recommend this location - closer to some of the larger hotels - so possible better quality crowd.

At our table, we had the raw oysters and the gumbo. The gumbo was fabulous! We split the Red Fish entree (which they divided into 2 portions on separate plates for us) and had drinks that were recommended for what we had ordered. Our waiter was fantastic, not chatting too much, but moved in quietly to fill drinks or take our orders -- made a few passing jokes. Overall, great meal in New Orleans! Highly recommend.

The food was excellent, if you're skeptical whether you'll like oysters, try the barbequed ones here first. The succotash (came with a dish of course) was the best I've ever had. Fish was excellent. The service was a perfect pace for a romantic date, but my party had a commitment afterwards so we weren't able to try desert.

I had a reservation at the Red Fish and was called to confirm earlier in the day. They were able to accomodate a slight change in time and number in party without any problem or fuss. The table we great even though they were in a huge rush from a convention crowd. The drinks and food were delivered quickly and all the staff were excellent. Management stopped by to check on how we were doing and how the food was. I would definitely recommend the yellowfin tuna to anyone - one of the best I have ever had. Everyone in my party was extremely satisfied. The white chocolate cheese cake was huge and excellent as well. I would definitely recommend Red Fish Grill to anyone going to NOLA.
