Made a reservation through OpenTable for a small group, and they called earlier in the day to confirm, but when we showed up (exactly on time) they didn't have a table for us and we had to wait. The service was poor -- did they just hire that guy off the street that morning? -- and the food was okay, but only just. The noise level made conversation impossible. Yet the price was the same as other, much better, places in the French Quarter.

I dined at Red Fish Grill with a large party of 20 people. Although we were not able to be seated together as one group, the restaurant did their best to seat us at tables close to one another. Most of my table ordered the signature Red Fish and everyone loved it. Drinks and wine were a little slow to arrive, but our server was pretty awesome throughout the whole evening. The stars of the show were the three desserts we shared: the double chocolate bread pudding, bananas foster cake and berry bread pudding.

Each year I attend a conference in NOLA. We typically taking clients out to dinner one night and for the last three years straight, I have chosen Red Fish Grille. They are very accommodating and the atmosphere is terrific! Everyone raves about the food which is fantastic and the location being on Bourbon Street makes it convenience for fun after a great meal!

Lunch is pricey but well worth it. We received our entrees within 10 minutes of ordering. Shrimp and grits were the best I've had in New Orleans. We skipped appetizers in favor of dessert. Also well worth it. The chocolate bread pudding was excellent. My daughter order bananas foster cake which was flambeed at the table. Also excellent. Server was friendly and attentive. Definitely returning.

First, let me say the service is awesome. Wait staff are there to please. I can tell by the fish I had, that the Cooks aim to please as well. My flash fried oysters in BBQ were great! I decided to get the Red Fish as the house specialty. The fish itself was delicious, where the meal lacked any type of style was with the presentation. My fish was served on store bought hash browns and frozen peas. It really detracted the overall enjoyment of the Fish. A fresh grilled veg or some sort of plating effort would have made the meal go all the way but ended up falling short. Love the restaurant, hope the kitchen staff can bring their game up a bit; not all diners are half in the bag when eating there. :)

We were 20 minutes late being seated vs the reservation. The bar waiting area was so loud, you could not hold a conversation. It was only slightly better at the table. The food was great but it was just too loud for a relaxing dinner. If you wish to hold a conversation at dinner, avoid busy times here.

Of course I had the signature dish "Redfish with crabmeat topping". I had never had Redfish and it was delicious. We had BBQ fried oysters for an appetizer and could have just had an order of that for my entree because it was so delicious. And chocolate bread pudding is worth the possible uncomfort felt after stuffing yourself with food!

The food was good but as soon as we sat down we were being rushed, the appetizers came out and one minute later the dinners came out. Not enough room on the table for everything. I would have liked a glass of wine with dinner, no opportunity to order one. I really felt as though we were being pushed through. I've heard of flipping tables before but this was ridicules.

Visiting the French Quarter on a busy holiday (Halloween weekend), we expected to be rushed thru our dinner and maybe not get the best of service or food. But, we were pleasantly surprised to have both great food and service. Our waiter, Joe, was most accommodating when we requested a substitution for the side dish. The wood grilled whole red snapper was delicious and perfectly cooked (just watch out for the bones). Try the white chocolate cheesecake for dessert. It's yummy!

From start to finish the meal was exceptional. The wait times are similar to very other restaurant in New Orleans. IF you are in a hurry, then nice restaurants in New Orleans should be avoided. Nevertheless, we enjoyed an exceptionally well cooked meal of redfish of various types for both of us. The food well prepared and well presented. The taste was surreal and what you would expect at more expensive restaurants. It was busy on a Saturday night so it was loud but there were many large groups having a great time. Wine list was adequate and full of good choices. The dessert was fantastic! Must get the Bananas Foster ice cream cake!
