We had a great meal but we ate right in the middle and it was very noisy. I would suggest if you want to talk with the people you are with to ask for a table in one of the side rooms.

We travel to New Orleans every spring and fall. Redfish Grill has become one of our favorites. The restaurant is beautiful on the inside, service is great and the food is fantastic. Our favorite is the wood grill redfish with crabmeat and the bread pudding is to die for. The only complaint I have for this visit is that it seemed very loud, especially the table behind us. We couldn't hear ourselves talk but could hear everything next to us. Really can't blame the restaurant though.

  • Rushed Buffet atmosphere
    Disappointed
    Dined on 10/14/2014
The service was poor. It seems to be extremely rushed. Much like a buffet where they rush you in and rush you out to get the highest turnover possible. Half the food was cold, two appetizers and one entrée came out at the same time within minutes of ordering. This means it was obviously not made fresh but pre prepared and kept under a poor heating lamp. With all of the excellent restaurants in this area, this is surely one to skip.

We arrived on time for our reservation and we were told we had a twenty minute wait. We then explained to them we had theatre tickets and that would make us late. The manager was awesome in helping us get to our table quicker and we made our show. Redfish Grill is one of our favorite local restaurants I would recommend it to anybody 😄😄😄

Enjoyed Red Fish Grill on first visit and stay on Bourbon Street. We flew in from the northeast and had reservations at Red Fish Grill. Food was superb! Waiter was energetic and attentive even in midst of a crowded restaurant. Recommended the restaurant to our friends attending the same business conference. Would encourage others to experience the Red Fish Grill on Bourbon Street -- one of the best restaurants on the street, for sure! We weren't exactly up to the moderate noise after a long day of travel, but the food definitely perked us up again! Attractive, clean interior, too. We were influenced by great on-line reviews which proved to be true.

Wow - we really enjoyed dinner here. My wife had the Red Fish and I had the Gumbo Shrimp. Both meals were great. The chocolate bread pudding was nice as well. The place is large, so even though it is not a chain - you have a ton of people coming and going. The waiter was very nice, although very busy. There was a small wait even though we had reservations, which didn't bother me - it was maybe 5 - 10 minutes which we sat at the bar just for enough time to get a drink. There was some time between ordering our meal and receiving it - but that was not terrible either, although I did notice it. I would certainly recommend this location - closer to some of the larger hotels - so possible better quality crowd.

At our table, we had the raw oysters and the gumbo. The gumbo was fabulous! We split the Red Fish entree (which they divided into 2 portions on separate plates for us) and had drinks that were recommended for what we had ordered. Our waiter was fantastic, not chatting too much, but moved in quietly to fill drinks or take our orders -- made a few passing jokes. Overall, great meal in New Orleans! Highly recommend.

The food was excellent, if you're skeptical whether you'll like oysters, try the barbequed ones here first. The succotash (came with a dish of course) was the best I've ever had. Fish was excellent. The service was a perfect pace for a romantic date, but my party had a commitment afterwards so we weren't able to try desert.

I had a reservation at the Red Fish and was called to confirm earlier in the day. They were able to accomodate a slight change in time and number in party without any problem or fuss. The table we great even though they were in a huge rush from a convention crowd. The drinks and food were delivered quickly and all the staff were excellent. Management stopped by to check on how we were doing and how the food was. I would definitely recommend the yellowfin tuna to anyone - one of the best I have ever had. Everyone in my party was extremely satisfied. The white chocolate cheese cake was huge and excellent as well. I would definitely recommend Red Fish Grill to anyone going to NOLA.

Open Table to set reservation. It was confirmed by the restaurant. Arrived 10 minutes b4 reservation time. Given a number and told to wait in the bar until the number flashed on the board. 45 minutes after our confirmed reservation we were seated. Even after people who walked in with no reservation!! Server was friendly but severely overworked, sweat literally dripping from her upper lip, which she had to wipe away several times while taking our orders. Food was Meh. Filet mignon was ala Monsanto, tasteless and funky texture. Catfish dish was no better, more like diner food. The place is so loud you have no chance of carrying on a conversation sitting with each other at a table. I wouldn't go there again, or recommend it to anyone.

We booked in advance but on arrival we found the place was absolutely packed. There was no table available for us and we were told to take a ticket number and wait for it to come up on a display board near the bar. The bar was full too and getting served there was impossible. We waited ten minutes for a number to come up on the display board and when it did it was nr 239, we had been given nr 246. We decided not to wait another 40, 50, 60 minutes (who knows how long) for a table, and went to eat somewhere else.

Very good food, the wood fired grill menu is excellent. But for what it is, a little pricey. Pretty crowded too, but service didn't necessarily suffer from that. I feel that a server should be attentive and not be asked for a drink refill, but other than that, prompt service. I'd recommend it as an "occaisions" restaurant.

We just returned from our 5 day visit to New Orleans and I must say MY OH MY did we eat!! We ate out 2-3 meals a day and of all the fun restaurants we tried - THIS WAS OUR WHOLE GROUPS FAVORITE!!! We loved it so much we even bought the cook book written by the owner. I had the Red Snapper which was so delicious!! My husband and our other friend had the Redfish with crab and they both raved about it all week long. Every place we ate at - we compared to this restaurant...and NOTHING EVEN CAME CLOSE. An absolute must if you are in the city!!

What can I say? I had an overnight last yr and met Ike, the dynamic waiter, on the street when looking for directions. Ate there the next day andirons was fantastic, so I HAD to book when visiting with friends this weekend. Again Redfish did not disappoint. Masi the manager accommodated our request to sit with Ike on a busy Sat. Ike is phenomenal. The most outstanding service, very, very good at what he does ( I am in the industry). Recommendations he made, tremendous. Food...the best. 3of us went with the Wahoo, Ike recommended lemon vinaigrette sauce. SOOOO fresh and delicious. A gem, a don't miss right on Bourbon St by Canal!
