  • "The service was great and the food was fantastic!! Our table was ready was soon as we walk in. Will recommend his restaurant to others traveling to New Orleans!"

  • "This place was the best restaurant that we went to in NOLA! The shrimp & grits was truly delicious, as was the crispy blue crab claws appetizer. Every dish that was ordered by our group was good. I highly recommend this place."

  • "great food but expensive. service was too informal for cost."

  • "Don't let the Bourbon Street location fool you - yes, this is a busy, bustling place, but the food is superb! This is not tourist food - it's excellent local food in the Brennan family tradition! The Shrimp and Grits are bland - but in my experience having dined here many times, everything on the menus is skillfully prepared and tasty! Seafood is the star here."

  • "Something for everyone was appreciated as most were looking for a seafood restaurant but a couple of folks in our large family gathering don't "do" seafood and we also had a small child with us. (The children's menu was great.) The steak and chicken options were appreciated by them, while the rest of us enjoyed the wood grilled selections. The "specialty" grilled redfish with lump crabmeat was chosen by a couple of us, and while we found the crabmeat to be less than generously portioned, it was delicious in the sauce; no complaints."

  • "A friend recommended Red Fish Grill while visiting NOLA. The waitress was a little rushed but after explaining to her that it was our first time, she became very patient. She made great recommendations for drinks, appetizers and dessert, the double chocolate bread pudding with vanilla bean ice cream. This is a must restaurant while in.New Orleans."

  • "Dinner for 8 with a rather last minute reservation. The server Ronnie was a gem and the food was all great. The bbq crab claws are so good that I would go back just for them. And I don't like crab! It was a very busy night so a bit noisy, but didn't hamper our fun!"

  • "Red Fish is a good representation of what NOLA has to offer. The raw bar is very good. Fried oysters were excellent. Drinks were very well executed. Definitely a place I'd return to."

  • "I enjoy my visits to the Big Easy and when I am in town, I enjoy meals at one of the Brennen's restaurants. This was my first visit to Red Fish and it was enjoyable. The place was mobbed and if you don't mind a high level of noise, it is worth dining there. The service was good and of course, the food was excellent. Make a reservation and spend significant time walking through the French Quarter...the meals are not geared towards dieters."

  • "I had the specialty of the house (blackened redfish) and it was superb. This was the second night in a row for me but I still loved it. I tasted my wife's soft shell crab and it was even better. We shared the double chocolate bread pudding and it was decadent. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Service was excellent too."

  • "We have eaten here several times in the past and really enjoyed it. It is not the same quality as it used to be. Redfish special was overpriced and overlooked. They rushed us through with one course served before we finished the other. Lots better places to eat in New Orleans!"
    Dined on 6/16/2014
  • "You have to get the Redfish with Lump Crab but if you are seafood' out like I was, try the filet. Very good!"

  • "Fried Oyster appetizer is too die for! This dish is amazing!!! If you live fried oysters, please try this dish you will not be disappointed. I savored each oyster. They are battered, flash fried, coated with a sauce and topped with bleu cheese! Yeah baby! Only in New Awlins!!!!"

  • "This was our second time to eat at Red Fish, and once again, it exceeded our expectations. The food was great. There is a good selection of kid's items on their menu. The service was excellent. As always, the chocolate bread pudding is one of the best desserts that I've ever had. Make sure that you try this restaraunt if you're in NOLA."

  • "I read it was a top 10 restaurant in New Orleans, I would have to disagree! There is some great food in New Orleans this was pretty average. Loud, 3 bachalorette partis going on. Ordered the grouper and they came back and said they dropped the plate and that was the last one. Offered dessert on the house and then charged us anyway! Strawberry shortcake had maybe 3 strawberries. It wasn't horrible, but I wouldn't go agIn!"

  • "In a town known for their Mardi Gras parties, usually Cajun food is the pick on most local menus. However, The Red Fish Grill is different. 90% of the menu is fish and other aquatic creatures. They are served in your choice o many different ways (different sauces, doneness, etc.). The food was superb. Perhaps the best tuna we have ever had. My wife had the Red Fish signature dinner, of well you guess it, Red Fish."

  • "3 of us went to Red Fish for dinner. For appetizers we shared buffalo fried oysters and raw oysters. Both were okay but not great. We each tried a different fish and shared-Yellow Fin Tuna (rare with a soy type sauce); grouper which was the daily special and the house special red fish. All 3 fishes were very good. Desserts were chocolate cheesecake and banana foster cheese cake. These were fine. It was very noisy the night we were there."

  • "We were born, grew up, went to college, etc. in the South (Miss./Lou.), but have been Texas residents for 30+ years. Even so, we "come home" to the Miss. Gulf Coast/New Orleans 2-3 times a year for food and fun. For reasons unbeknownst to us, we have always regarded Red Fish Grill (even though it's one of the Brennan-family restaurants) as a "place for tourists". However, after deciding to give it a try on our recent visit, we couldn't have been more wrong. The service was excellent and the food was outstanding. Sure, they have the basics (e.g., gumbo, poboys, fried shrimp, etc.), but they also offer dishes not found elsewhere, all with the special NOLA-flair."

  • "Great seafood that is fresh and delicious. Every time we are in New Orleans we eat at Red Fish Grill at least twice. I would highly recommend it."

  • "This place will be busy no matter what I say, but it's not worth the price. I felt a little put off that they call their tables on wait via a DMB numbering system. Not customer friendly. The bartenders could not have cared less about the folks wanting to buy drinks while waiting for tables, then look down about you when you order. We were even dressed as if we didn't stumble drunk off of Bourbon St. My wife is picky, but not unreasonable. She asked for tomatoes on her Caprese in leau of watermellon and they refused. I ordered their Red Fish signature which was ok, but my wife's Filets which were dry and bland. The server never came to check on us until we were finished. We have always been better served at Besh restraunts. Choose wisely"

  • "We went to another fancy reputable restaurant the night before and we got by far way better service at Red Fish Grill. There was not one second that we had to wait for the waitress for anything. She even modified our children's dinner to their special request. We were very pleased."

  • "Food was very good! Service even better. Very impressed at how our waiter handled the busy atmosphere! Kudos you your chef and your waiter. Job well done."

  • "We were a group of six and all had a different entree. Everyone enjoyed their meals very much. The service was average, but not exceptional. The restaurant has a good and diverse wine list. Fortunately, we were seated towards the back, as the restaurant is VERY noisy. We would return, but would try to find a time when they are not at/near capacity."

  • "They need to take the Brennen's name out of it. My grandson, 14, didn't have anything on the menu that was appealing to him. He ordered the sauté shrimp and it must have been the appetizer as we had to order another one. I had their specialty the red fish. Very little butter or lemon taste on the sauce and the fish was dry. My husband enjoyed his, but said it was disappointing for NOLA dining. Chain food type. The bread pudding was good. "

  • "Went and had the redfish with vegetables. The fish was amazing and cooked perfectly, as well as the roasted vegetables. We finished off with the chocolate bread pudding which to our surprise (and delight) wasn't too rich and overpowering or too sweet. The entire meal (along with the service) was impeccable. Would go back in a heartbeat. "

  • "My family and I were in town for a wedding and knew a stop at Red Fish was a must. Even my dad, who is a "selective" eater, insisted that we add brunch at Red Fish to our itinerary. The service was attentive but not overbearing and the ambiance is comfortable, fun and friendly. They mix up some great cocktails and specialize in seafood (obviously) but the menu is diverse enough to fit even the pickiest palate (ahem, my dad). You must order the BBQ Oysters - still the only oysters I will eat - and cannot leave until you've tried the Double Chocolate Bread Pudding. Enjoy!"

  • "A fun decorated and extensive predominantly fish based menu. We started with BBQ oysters and marinated shrimp. Mmmm! Mains were a wood grilled redfish and another redfish with ginger-soy green onion sauce( came with a nice mix of local vegetable). Everything was really good. Our waiter Chris, was knowledgeable and friendly. We had some white wines by the glass. For dessert: Banana Foster Ice-cream cake flambéed at the table. Not for the diet conscious. It’s a busy place. Make a reservation and go there."

  • "Our reservation was for 6:15 and that is exactly when we were seated. Our waiter, Chris, was well informed and friendly, but the food is the real star here. Our group had various entrees and each one was unbelievably delicious. The Gulf fresh swordfish was served over a bed of pomme fritte (perfectly prepared french fries) and the best sauce drizzled over the top! Fantastic with a Rioja! Altogether a wonderful dining experience."

  • "This newer restaurant is described as a good, new find. So I booked a dinner. Had to wait 20 minutes for a table that I reserved with nowhere to wait had to stand in the bar by the entrance to the kitchen, so we were in the way of all the servers coming and going. after being seated, ordered the fish of the day, a filet of grouper. When it arrived, it was a piece of dried out leather. It was unedible. I told the server and he said, sorry, took it away, gave me a menu; told me to order a replacement. I said no thanks, let me speak to the manager. She finally came and over and simply apologized. why in the world would the restaurant focusing on seafood/fish allow my meal to leave the kitchen? terribly noise there. "
