  • "Wide variety of fish and seafood choices. Busy but not overtly loud restaurant. Good service. Would go back."

  • "We ate dinner early and avoided the crowds. Nice service, great food. We wish they had participated in "Coolinary"."

  • "Wonderful dinner with friends. Table was ready promptly and we were treated wonderfully. Food was terrific and so was the service. Will certainly return."

  • "I had the most popular menu item, the redfish and it was so good. The French bread was light and flaky, not dry at all. We had a 1/2 dozen raw oysters and a 1/2 dozen of the BBQ Buffalo oysters and both were delicious. The Buffaflo oysters were light and not greasy or chewy, very tender. We found ourselves using the bread to soak up all the extra Crystal hot sauce and Bleu cheese left in the shells. Awesome!"

  • "I asked the waiter for a recommendation as to the best fish and ordered the one he suggested. It tasted old and fishy! The preparation also was lackluster. The accompaniments were plain. Appetizer of BBQ oysters much different from usual preparation, and not in a good way. Overly breaded and blue-cheesed out -- might as well have been Buffalo Wings. Only bright spots were the chocolate bread pudding dessert (excellent) and the bar drinks. Unforgiveable to serve bad seafood in NOLA."

  • "Great for locals and tourists! Great food and lively fun atmosphere. Colorful fish-related decor."

  • "The food was fantastic. Our table of 7 ordered different dishes and everyone was pleased with the quality and quantity of the food. Our server seemed a little harried and flustered at times, but overall the experience was a great one. Friday night on Bourbon Street meant the place was packed and a bit noisy, but we were still (mostly) able to have conversation. We'll be back."

  • "Oysters on the half shell were fantastic. Rest of meal was fine. Server was very attentive, but just could not make a lot of food recommendations. Would have expected more for the price. Also, extremely LOUD!!! Did I say how loud it was. For this reason I would recommend going back for the oysters at the bar or possibly for lunch. Just not classy enough for a serious dinner out."

  • "We were seated in a private area, away from main dining area. Very cozy. Service was excellent. Especially our food server, who had Happy Anniversay written in chocolate on the plate of our complimentary dessert. I love shrimp and grits and it was excellent. The shrimp were a little small, but tasty. My wife had Mississippi catfish (is there any other?) huge filet, nicely breaded and tasted great. The red bean and andouille soup was also very good"

  • "In a city known for great food, that is a huge claim. However, the Red Fish signature dish and Shrimp and Grits we're stand outs!!"

  • "Red Fish Grill was, in a word, greasy. They had no vegetarian options, even though they made the "vegetarian friendly" list. The grilled Red Fish was good, but not great. Vegetables were all greasy. Our waiter kept insulting his own kitchen staff and diners at a nearby table. It was also very loud. Needless to say we were very disappointed and it was not what we were looking for."

  • "This is by far the Best seafood restaurant in the French Quarter in New Orleans, creative menu, friendly wait staff and reasonable prices. It's best to go there after 8:-30-9:00 to get a table or early before the dinner crowd starts coming in. The one drawback is the noise level but that's the same problem in most hot spots today. Make a reservation and you will be glad you did."

  • "Enjoyed our anniversary dinner. We had the Redfish signature dish with lump crab, and the filet mignon. Both dishes were done to perfection, and portions were good. Service was excellent (Emely). Bread pudding dessert was very good."

  • "I travel to NOLA frequently as I have friends who live there. It was a friend's birthday and I booked a table at Red Fish Grill. The decor is beautiful, our waiter was awesome, but the food was very disappointing. I'm from Maryland, so I knew better than to order the crab cake, but I did it anyway. It was terrible. And the cheesecake for dessert tasted more like thick custard than cheesecake. I really don't think there are that many good restaurants in the French Quarter, like there used to be before Katrina. For a good meal, go away from the Quarter for sure."

  • "We have always heard of The Red Fish Grill and how great it was, but didn't know where it was or how great it really is! We were staying at the Royal Sonesta and was pleasantly surprised to find it was right on Bourbon Street just a couple of blocks from us. Very convenient. We made 6 pm reservations and were seated right away. We had a wonderful waitress, Susanna, I believe was her name. Very attentive and friendly. We ordered the BBQ oysters and frankly, I could have eaten 50 of them. They were amazing!!! I ordered the wood grilled Lemon Fish with lemon butter sauce on sweet potato puree and it was delicious! Jeff had the wood grilled Redfish and it was fantastic!! Wonderful experience, can't wait to go back!!"

  • "We had our grandson (4 yrs) with us and our server was fantastic and quite accommodating with him. Because he was with us, we did not want to spend time with appetizers and desserts. Just had an entrée (amberjack) and it was quite good. Noise level was a little too loud for us but worked that evening because of the 4 yr old."

  • "We were seated promptly and had a friendly and attentive server, Bobbie. The decor is bright and modern however the noise level was almost to the level that it was hard to converse at 7:00 on a Wednesday evening. The food was terrific. Oysters on the half she'll were as good or better than Acme. The crab claw appetizer was to die for. The signature Reddish preparation was even better than the Shrimp and Grits, which were excellent. Highly recommend this place for dinner."

  • "While in N'awlins there will be several spots on your list one of which is RFG. Suitable for foodies and for those from New York its comparable to a City Island locale. Seafood Gumbo was very good, portion sizes were balanced for the price point. My takeaway was my substitution for Spinach vice the medley which came with the meal (sautéing was not good) and spinach was not picked so I had a few bad leaves intermixed. Vast wine selection of Red's / Whites - which was a plus for foodies as well. Staff managed high volume well without skipping a beat also notable. So for a late afternoon early dinner in N'awlins RFG should be added to the list."

  • "I love Red Fish Grill. Food is always fresh, great tasting and presented really beautiful. The wait staff is always extremely polite and friendly and efficient in their services. One of my favorite places to eat in the Quarter. Didn't get the bread pudding this time, but have in the past. What can I say about that, but YUM"

  • "Red Fish Grill is an excellent restaurant. Though it is on Bourbon Street, it is tastefully decorated- not gaudy or kitchy. The barbeque oysters were delicious. Whoever does the shucking is very good at what they do. The catfish was moist and flaky, and not oily. Dewan was an excellent server- attentive but not smothering. He did suggest to get the double chocolate bread pudding (YUM!) a la mode- good call! The staff is well trained in service and menu items. Overall, a relaxing meal on one of the craziest streets in the world!"

  • "Our group had high expectations but left very disappointed. The menu is very interesting but the execution of our dishes really missed the mark. We had a group of six with reservations made more than a month in advance. Has to wait over half an hour for a table while we waited precariously in the main entrance. The hostess told us it would only be three to five minutes and we should just wait there. So, all the other patrons had to walk through our group to get in or out of the restaurant. After the 30 minute, wait we were seated but it was so loud we couldn't hear our guests. The appetizers were good and they arrived in a timely manner. The entreaus"

  • "Outstanding experience all the way around. The signature redfish dish was wonderful, and the triple chocolate bread pudding was divine. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting New Orleans."

  • "Our experience was not so great for the French Quarter. First it was very noisy. Second our waiter was not attentive or the kind of server you would expect at these prices in this venue. Needs to be replaced. Finally our entrées were just so-so, again not what you would expect for this venue. We observed many medium and large groups 4 and up. Seems like the place for a larger group assuming you had a better server. On several lists which was disappointing in the experience."

  • "Red Fish Grill is a relatively new NO's restaurant but it is managed by well-established restauranteers. It is noisy and crowded but the excellent food and service make up for that. The wine list is excellent for a popular, casual restaurant. The service is outstanding. Be sure to try the BBQed oysters. They are beyond description. The seafood dishes are superb. And don't leave without trying their chocolate dessert. I forget what it is called but it is marvelous."

  • "My wife and I loved everything about our visit to Red Fish Grill. The service is top-notch, and the atmosphere is energetic and casual (but not loud or chaotic). The menu is short and simple (a lesson other restaurants would do well to learn), and focuses squarely on seafood. (No burgers, quesadillas, or chicken tenders here.) My grilled redfish was fantastic--flavorful, but not heavily seasoned--and my wife's shrimp and grits were addictive. Our only complaint was with our dessert, the double-chocolate bread pudding: with its hard crust and abundance of chocolate sauce, it was unrecognizable as bread pudding, but tasted like a large brownie. (Not that there's anything wrong with a large brownie.) Ultimately, we were impressed."

  • "I rated it good instead of fair because although I didn't enjoy my meal, everyone else at the table did. I order the BBQ Oyster PoBoy and I thought that they slopped on way too much sauce, and it was almost inedible and I had to wipe off a large portion of the sauce. I think if it wasnt so saucy I would have enjoyed it. Everyone else enjoyed their salmon and gumbo dishes, we had reservations and didn't wait long, wait staff was very nice, and the drinks were quite good. ."

  • "We've dined all of the United States and simply love Red Fish Grill when we are in town. The server Ike makes you feel as though you are part of the New Orleans family! The BBW oysters are to die for! They are flash fried, dipped in Crystal BBQ sauce, and drizzled with a housemade blue cheese dressing. The Po Boy version is just as great! We were in New Orleans for four days and ate there everyday for lunch! Plus, if you love grilled fish without the heavy sauces, this is the place for you!"
