Generally, the setting is gorgeous, the staff were very nice, and the food was pretty good. The service was polite, but not as attentive as we would have liked. (Had to ask three times for a candle that would stay lit, water was not refilled unless requested, finding our server was a little hard when we were served a glass of spoiled wine...) Some of the food was fantastic, some was just pretty good. The pork chop was so-so. The sea bass was beautifully prepared and was good, and the other fish scored rave reviews by our guests. In all it was a nice evening, and I would go back again. Another plus for this place is that they have some great red wines and blends and you would be shocked with their wines compared to the food prices. You can have great red merlots and cabernet sauvignons ranging from 40-60$ per bottle which I found very reasonable. And the red snapper served to my dining companions was left too long under the heating light which dried it out, too. The shrimp bisque was hot and delicious. Wife wasn't happy that no cocktails were served. service was good, very polite and neutral. A smile or a little personality from the staff wouldn't have hurt. All that being said we came here for the ambiance. And that really makes the place stand out! They didn't have high chairs so my 1yr old ended up just sitting in a chair between the two of us, however, it worked out fine for us. After that, the temperatures and bugs will make it challenging to eat outside. That being said, we had a table for 2 facing the water. We have been here a number of times and can always be guaranteed a great but limited menus, comprised of fresh fish and tasty appetizers and sides. I'd noted it was his birthday when I made the reservation online and asked for a romantic spot as well as stated his favorite dessert is key lime pie.
