  • "Red Drum never disappoints! I have yet to ever have a bad meal or bad service. Chef Berryhill and his staff are the BEST!!"

  • "Very good. Different!!! I would have again. Not your typical dish. Lovely bottle of wine and the Caesar salad is awesome."

  • "We always enjoy this restaurant. Staff is alway friendly and professional"

  • "The food and service were excellent. We had wonderful spicy shrimp and chicken tacos."

  • "We live in the neighborhood, but had never tried Red Drum, not sure why. The food was great and the service was even better."
    Dined on 6/26/2014
  • "This was my 2nd time dining at Red Drum. The wine selection is very interesting. I found the food good, but not great. The arugula salad needed more substance: additional apples & bacon would have enhanced it. The scallops were the best item we ordered. The venison sausage was a bit disappointing in taste, and the quail was average. We tried the fried donuts for dessert. They were good, but some were still a bit doughy in the middle."
    Dined on 6/22/2014
  • "The food was awesome. I had the scallops and my partner had shrimp. Both were well prepared and served in a timely manner. Noise level was moderate, in the area where we were seated, so we had to speak a little louder than normal to be heard."
    Dined on 6/20/2014
  • "Our table had bbq grilled shrimp, salmon, and grouper. All were outstanding and several days later we have all commented on how good the food was every day. We had a toddler with us and the wait staff was wonderful with her."
    Dined on 6/18/2014
  • "Unfriendly and barely accommodating hostess which made the evening less pleasant."

  • "We absolutely love the Red Drum. The food is beyond delicious, the service is incredible, and the drinks and ambiance are great! I wish the Red Drum would open locations in more cities, so I could enjoy it more often. It's amazing!"

  • "Food is still really good and service was great but prices have seemed to really jump since my last visit"
    Dined on 6/11/2014
  • "The food is excellent and the items on the menu have a twist on some usual items. The waiter continually asked for our order, past being attentive. My drink was taken before I was finished. Our bill was put on the table while we were in the middle of eating dessert without a word. I could possibly understand this if they needed our table, but they didn't. We were planning on having an after dinner drink, but because he seemed anxious for us to leave, we did."

  • "Awesome! Food was great and the atmosphere even better! The fried shrimp and grilled chicken dish were amazing!!"

  • " Had not been to Rud Drum in a long time. Menu is very Mexican without the good Mexican prices. I thought the service was great , just was surprised at how expensive and extremely average the quality of food."

  • "The food and service were wonderful! Loved the vibe and ambiance, especially the outdoor area. Great place for a date night or to hang with friends. Will definitely return!"

  • "Had a delightful dinner hosting an out-of-town friend on Sunday night of Memorial Day weekend. The grouper special and the salmon were both excellent. Nice menu choices and good wine list. Will definitely go back!"

  • "We live Downtown and was excited to get away from the Downtown hustle and meet friends for dinner. We have visited Red Drum a few times in the past and I was surprised how run down it has become. As we waited for our friends at the bar, the older gray headed bartender was rude to my husband and I (as we purchased a 100.00 bottle of wine and left a 20% tip for him basically doing nothing). The food was ok, nothing special. We won't be headed back."

  • "Mt Pleasant has so many good restaurants, and Red Drum is one of them. Fun atmosphere and an intriguing menu. We went for a late dinner on Mother's Day and never felt rushed. My BBQ shrimp in a green chile sauce was yummy. Everyone cleaned their plates. We will be back. "

  • "We have lived in the area for 3 years and visit the Red Drum often. It is my wife's favorite restaurant in the whole Charleston area. There is nothing touristy about this joint. Inside is mellow and subdued, appropriate for a romantic dinner as well as entertaining clients. Service is good. The food is great. The wine list is very good, yet within the reach of mere mortals like myself. There are a few staples you should sample: Fried shrimp appetizer; BBQ shrimp, catch of the day (ours was grouper, perfectly cooked, served with lime beurre blanc), and the wood grilled chicken entrees are sublime. We particularly love Tuesdays -- half price wine night! Make reservations. Crayons & paper table coverings for the Kids to boot. "

  • "At last, we found a non-Mexican restaurant serving food flavored with chiles & peppers in Charleston! (We're from Dallas and miss the Dean Fearing/Stephen Pyles style of cooking.) The seared scallops were excellent; my portion was generous. The clams in red chile broth and the bbq grilled shrimp with corn pudding were delicious. I noted it was our anniversary when reserving - was disappointed the hostess tried to seat us next to the kitchen. It was early and the restaurant wasn't full, so she agreed to seat us one table away. The large, open dining area was a bit noisy, as noted in other reviews. We definitely want to go back to try other items on the menu. "
