From my many business dinners there to bringing visitors new to NY. The bar is staffed by super-attentive and personable bartenders. They also know their wines, and are generous enough to give you a sample pour before you commit. Everything from the appetizer to melts-in-your-mouth fish entrees to the savory and tart blueberry pie was just superb. And the wine list was quite impressive for its diverse and superior quality wines. Now I see what all the fuss has been about all these years. They had an ample selection of items to order. In fact, they liked the rapini, a side dish, so much that they ordered a second portion. I intended to order the duck, which was on the restaurant's website. The restaurant had no duck that evening. The waitress apologized profusely, saying that the restaurant tries to change its menu and website seasonally and keep them consistent with each other. As an alternative, I had the kid, which was tasty.
