Diner Reviews
  • "Reserve a table ahead of time! We reserved our table several weeks beforehand with a note we would like roof-top seating (weather permitting), we were greeted by name at the host table and our table was waiting for us on the roof, as requested, with no wait time. Our waitress was very on top of things without being a "helicopter" and had an answer for any question we asked. I could not help to almost say "bring them all" when she went over the chef selection/specials for the evening. The food was incredible, the ambiance was superb, and it was a very delicious well presented meal. Not a choice for a normal Wednesday night, but perfect for a nice night out on the town. Highly recommend!"

  • "Every spring my friends and I get a hotel room in downtown Fort Worth and "do" the Main Street Fort Worth Arts Festival. Part of that ritual is dinner on Saturday night at Reata. Downtown Fort Worth has many great restaurants, but every year we keep going back to Reata. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the food is superb. I always recommend Reata to friends, relatives, visitors from out of town."

  • "We travel often mainly in the US and Europe. We always eat at Reata when in the DFW area. The location is historic and beautiful. The staff is always friendly and helpful. But the wonderful and unique food and roof top dining keep us coming back for more."

  • "I have been to Reata many times and always enjoy having lunch there. It was a very warm day and Reata was a perfect location for lunch after visiting the Main Street Arts Festival in Fort Worth. My husband usually has the bison burger which changes every day. This time it was a Mediterranean type with basil and mozzarella. Always cooked exactly as ordered. I had a combo with grilled cheese and salad. Great combo. Would definitely recommend this for lunch or dinner."

  • "Service was rushed. Wife's steak was overcooked. Waiter did offer to bring another one but my wife didn't want to be the only one still eating after everyone was done so she declined. Steak and redfish were under seasoned. Tenderloin tamales and house salad were very good. Overall decent food but not worth the price."

  • "Reata offers a wonderful dining experience if you are looking for Relaxed, Western/Urban Fine Dining. Our food was beautiful and delicious. The service was topnotch. Special touch with our dessert when Landon learned we were new to TX. Script on our plate read, Welcome to Texas and TCU (in chocolate). Fun, classy, service extraordinaire!!!! A completely enjoyable, beautiful evening on the open rooftop."

  • "Went to dinner early (6PM) before weeknight performance at Bass Hall. Not crowded at all although it was filling by the time we left shortly before 730. Service was attentive, polite, personable, and helpful with suggestions, but not hovering. Due to some dietary restrictions, several adjustments were made to the standard plate on each order--minor but easily accommodated. Appetizer: bacon wrapped shrimp (3) were good. Dinners: Pork shank braised and falling off bone, served on a blackeye pea hash: excellent. Redfish was served over grits with seasonal veggies (fish and grits were TDF). Dessert: pecan pie w/ vanilla bean ice cream was perfect. A great meal at a moderate price (for an upscale restaurant) with good service. We will be back."

  • "We eat at Reata several times a year. The food is always great. It was a little noisy this time. We didn't get our usual favorite apple crumb with cinnamon ice cream. The waitress recommended the banana pudding. It had no banana in it only a small flavor, more like a vanilla pudding. We won't do that again but we will go back to Reata."

  • "This has always been one of our favorite restaurants but the last two visits have been very disappointing due to food quality. I had the club sandwich this last time and it was mediocre. We took out of town friends. She had a salad with steak on it....the presentation was awful.....she said taste wise it was just ok. Her husband had the bison burger and said it was good...I hate to say this but not sure we will come back. Not sure what has changed in the kitchen. We did have good service and restaurant has great ambience."

  • "We had a great server on Saturday night. We were sat just before two other large tables and she was just as attentive to us as she was to the large party. Food was also out very fast yet we didn't feel rushed. We will definately be back. Thank you for a great anniversary dinner."

  • "My date and I were going to the comedy theatre next door and had made reservations for 6. We were greeted graciously at the front door and taken right to our seats. The service was good and attentive and the food was superb. Afterwards, we stopped back in for dessert and a nightcap. I just asked for a table and a gentleman offered the "dome room". I accepted and it was fantastic finish for a great night. Couldn't have been happier."

  • "I love going here for special occasions or when you want to have a nice date night. The food is exceptional and I love the jalapeno cheese grits. You must try them! I also like going to the 4th floor outside bar when the weather is nice. You can also eat up there. I would recommend Reata."

  • "The atmosphere was comfortable, rustic yet elegant. Taylor, our waitress was very friendly, well spoken, and was well versed on all the menu items. Asking if we were there for a special occasion she thanked us for choosing Reata and later surprised us with two complimentary glasses of champagne, a large scoop of vanilla bean ice cream and a chocolate bread pudding tamale, highly recommended. On the perimeter of the plate was written in fudge "Happy 32nd Anniversary".For dinner we had the Chef's Special, a 10 oz rib-eye, large poblano pepper stuffed with crab meat, shrimp, & hollandaise, garlic/cilantro mashed potatoes, and grilled asparagus. Everything was cooked to perfection and delicious. The presentation was exquisite. We will go back."

  • "The service here was incredible! The staff was very courteous and welcoming from the manager to the four servers who visited our table. Our primary server even recommended different places to go out after dinner and even was willing to setup reservations. The food was great. We had the citrus chicken and chicken fried steak. Both were great! We can't recommend this place enough!"

  • "I was surprised at the excellent food quality and menu. We are planning on going back in just 30 days for a 15 year anniversary. My parents are celebrating their anniversary the same month and so we will be bringing them. This was a great place to dine."

  • "As a group, we really enjoyed our dining experience. The restaurant staff were more than accomodating especially allowing for one additional guest to join our party at last minute. The food was definitely upscale Texas. Enjoyed the quail, grits, bacon-wrapped shrimp, as well as the bison steaks and fish dishes. All were very tasty and plentiful. Wine list, though, a little on the pricey side, had some very good wines to chose from. All in all, a very good dining experience."

  • "Food was great if your waiter recommends something for you take it. Great staff always on their toes to keep you pleased. The drinks were top notch as was the food. Tenderloin tamales with a pecan mash were delicious."

  • "Reata may play on Fort Worth's image as "Cowtown," but the cowboy/ranch-themed restaurant is serious about food and, on a recent visit, produced perfectly conceived and cooked dishes featuring Scottish salmon and halibut (a special), as well as perfectly crispy fried calamari (not the easiest task). Service is very friendly and attentive. An attraction for all Fort Worthers, and a must for visitors staying downtown who want an alternative to a steakhouse or burger bar (although they have those). Unique and satisfying."

  • "And we will continue to come back each and every year. The servers are all great, know the menu, polite, and on the spot when needed. The service sets this place apart. The food is great no doubt, but the service is impeccable."

  • "I had sent a note with the open table that it was my wife's B-Day and that she loves dark chocolate, they surprised her at the end of the meal (and me!) with a dark chocolate desert customized for her, gratis! And this was after I had called in to change the time and quantity of guests! they also included a hand signed card with best wishes. from the valet parking, to the superb scallop appetizer, to the I-can't-wait-to-take-another-bite main entree, our service was excellent. Everyone in our small party was impressed and pleased with every aspect from presentation, taste, uniqueness, and quantity. We will definitely make this a regular go-to place."

  • "It had been several years since we had dined at Reata’s and we left wondering why it had taken us so long to return. Service was awesome; Robert was attentive without being intrusive. The entire staff anticipated our needs and made sure ours was an outstanding dining experience. The favorite Tenderloin Tamales with Pecan Mash did not disappoint and the Reata's Wedge Salad was with Pico Vinaigrette was fresh and light. My husband had the Chef’s Special Beef and rated it very good; I enjoyed the Jalapeno Cilantro Crusted Texas Red Fish. The fish was very fresh and the crusted perfect, not overwhelming the taste of the fish. We will definitely won’t wait so long to return."

  • "This was the first place my wife thought of for our anniversary diner. We really missed the atmosphere and food during the years we lived in South Carolina. The Reata Margaritas were very refreshing. The Pork Shank with Chorizo Black-Eyed Pea Hash was fall off the bone tender and very flavorful. The Citrus Crusted Chicken with Rosemary Honey Mustard was very tender with an interesting blend of seasoning. We will be returning in the future to explore more of the menu."

  • "When we have out of area guests, especially first timers to Fort Worth Reata is where we take them. The ambiance, food and service were great as always."

  • "This place has tons of space from the dining room to roof top bars yet the way the rooms are divided it keeps an initmate feel when you're at the table. The staff is very friendly and were on point all night long. My wife and I love steaks and if you do too this is the place. I had the bison ribeye which was huge and done exactly as I had requested. The atmosphere is a good balance between cowboy steakhouse and urban posh."

  • "We tried a lot of different items, but were not overwhelmed with any of them as far as taste. The ambience and atmosphere were so awesome and so was the service. We just did not think the food was very good at all...the asparagus was great!"

  • "Due to the weather, our evening didnt start out as planned. but once the it cleared up we really enjoyed our night. Reata is a "hot spot" for many people who visit our downtown Fort Worth. This was our first time there, even tho I work nearby. I gave it a low rating on ambience simply because when I booked the reservation, I asked for a table so my wife could get a view of the downtown/night sky light. We were seated on the first floor, where our view was the construction of Sundance Square being expanded. I fail to mention it to the staff because I didnt want the Reata experience to start off sour. But in all, our dining and anniversary dinner was a success.....ps, the desert was the bomb!!!!!"
