  • "Great Food! Long wait even with reservations. Didnt get to sit where requested when made reservations. Noisy at entrance and bar area. Great Food!"

  • "From the service and welcome at the reception desk to the attention from the waiters, to the view of the river, to trying selections from all menu groups, it all was outstanding...a must try!! After many visits, never disappoints."

  • "Was expecting much more from one of Atlanta's so called top restaurants. Our table wasn't ready at the time we had booked and we had to wait around for 15-20 minutes before it was with no hint of an apology for the delay. The food was average at best but it was the service that was most disappointing and not at all attentive. All in all a disappointing experience."

  • "Enough said! Every time we dine there, the service is better than the before. The food is always perfect!"

  • "I went here for my birthday and it was very elegant. Most people were dressy and the ambience was very nice. I sampled my friend's food and they were all yummy!"

  • "Everything was perfect. We got there late but had no problems with our reservation. The view from outside was beautiful and it was quiet and peaceful aside from the sound of the cars but you zone that out eventually. The service was excellent except at the very start. After we were seated they took unusually long to ask for what drinks we wanted. Other than that it was a great experience."

  • "I am a frequent restaurant diner but Rays had fallen off the map for me for about 10 years. Ate at Rays a couple months ago as a guest and had a very good experience. Based on that experience, I took the family back for a second try and I am sorry to say it was not too good. Service was really, really slow and disjointed (others food brought to our table, etc.. although our server was quite pleasant), the food was mediocre - Copper River salmon was overcooked and "mealy" in texture (at $45), the sea bass was undercooked (looked like rare tuna); and the salads also average. Really disappointed to spend nearly $300 with tip (for four) and have this experience. I don't really know what to think of this restaurant at this point"

  • "I would have rated this experience outstanding....when asked for the window seat, the hostess seemed irritated that I wanted to wait. She was very short and blunt when she sat us for the second time, after I waited for a window seat. The food and Chef was outstanding..."

  • "We ate at Ray's on a recent visit to Atlanta. Have heard of Ray's for years and finally had opportunity to try it. I would say the atmosphere is nice, the service is good and the food is just okay for the price charged. I eat in lots of high end restaurants & am not unaccustomed to paying well for a great quality meal. I found the food to be more mediocre than exceptional for the price charged. I've had much better filets at Ruth's Chris. Our service staff was excellent at first but as the evening wore on, we were a little neglected on the glass filling and had to wave them down. I may try the seafood on a future visit to see if that is where the hype lies before completely abandoning this restaurant due to the price vs yummy ratio."

  • "I went for the lobster special that I received notice via email. Although I made reservations, we decided to sit in the bar area. The bartender waited on us and is actually the head bartender for all of the Ray's restaurants, so he creates new and different drinks. My dining companion tried one of his drink specials that contained made from scratch watermelon juice and a lemon lime drink; I was told it was very refreshing. The lobster was whole and the choice of sides was either green beans or mashed potatoes. I got the mashed potatoes and they were outstanding, so smooth and creamy. Although they were delicious the one thing that would be nice is if we had more side choices to go with the lobster."

  • "Went to Ray's for my birthday and had a less than stellar time. The person who took us to our table had no personality and simply walked ahead of us and placed menus on a table (we had to assume it was ours). She was gone before we sat down so that got us off to a bad start. Then it was over 10 minutes before we were greeted by anyone else or at least offered water so it was now going to be a long uphill battle to make us feel better. From then on things got better. Our eventual waiter was very good and our meals were very good. Even after my free birthday dessert there was still that sense of disappointment that started with not being made to feel welcome and no manager to be seen the whole time we were there - another letdown."

  • "Rays is a a great place for special occasions. A little pricey but great food, location and ambience"

  • "Nice place but the food was a big disappointment. The dry aged bone in strip steak was flavorless yet highly recommended by the staff. The creamed spinach tasted like flour and so did the creamed corn. A crab cake appetizer was also a disappointment A broiled Maine lobster tail was plain, a little dry and over cooked. Service was mediocre. One would expect better when the establishment was only 20% filled. I had to stop the server who was attempting to recite a pile of information and ask him to get our cocktails before continuing his speech. It is a common yet rude practice when the busboy clears one guests plates while others are still eating. Skip walking the garden by the river unless you're wearing boots, it was wet and muddy."

  • "We choose to stop in for brunch after church. The quantity and quality of food, desserts and salads was impressive. Our wait staff was attentive, one more than the other. One person in our party would have preferred to order a la cart, but the brunch was the only option. A few suggestions: include juices as part of the brunch buffet. At more than $30 per person, I think offering juice wouldn't be that big of an impact. Also, please indicate the price of your buffet on the menu. We paid $75 for 2 patrons, not including tip for what we thought was an "after church meal". So we'll return, but only for special occasions. The price was a bit too high for a regular choice."

  • "Celebrated my wife's birthday at Ray's. She ordered the NY Strip and it was cooked perfectly and was delicious, however, my scallops were served nearly raw. I did not send back because I wanted my wife to enjoy her day without any annoyances."

  • "The food was excellent. The wait staff was not very attentive to our needs. I have eaten at the other Ray's locations and Killer Creek has been the best by far."

  • "Rays on the river has been disappointing the past two times we visited. Something is off from it's prior glory. Food is marginal, but the scenery is great. Hope it bounces back."

  • "Never a bad choice to choose Rays. I meet clients there and with an amazing menu and great ambiance perfect for business lunch meetings. The servers are a little quiet sometimes but if you ask them they know everything on the menu..."

  • "My wife and I had our lunch at Ray's with her sister-in-law. We had a great meal and the atmosphere is awesome as always. Our waiter was new as having been on the job only a week. There were some minor lapses in service but nothing major. The food was great and the experience was very good. I highly recommend and will return."

  • "Ray's on the River delivered another great evening for our group. We dine there as a work group to celebrate special occasions or out-of-town visits from our leadership team and always feel confident that the food, atmosphere and service will impress. The only thing that marred the experience this time was the shades kept getting raised and then lowered. I understand that happens as the sun sets, but the view and lighting inside the restaurant kept changing as this was done multiple times. They should really keep the shades open through the sunset as the view at that time is incredible. The food was fabulous, as always, and the service was impeccable."

  • "To my son for his 22 birthday - he liked the food- we had 2 PM seating - the food was cold- lots of it was picked over-example I ordered a spinach omelet the unhappy cook-gave me the bottom of the pale. two little leaves, he didn't go to get new leaves- then the waffles were pre-made come on ... the only thing that was tasty was the prime rib but it to was luke warm- it took me years to come here; the reviews were rave- i am sure the timing and just tired staff at the hour was just too much- the atmosphere was amazing."

  • "As schedules worked out, we had the opportunity to eat at Ray's On The River two weeks in a row. Last weeks rated 4 stars other than we had to send my wife's steak back for being over cooked. Not unusual as she love's it rare and most restaurants let it rest to long. Now for the visit on June 24th. Requested a window seat early in my reservation and again over the phone when they called to confirm reservations. Ended up in the back of the restaurant - strike one. Initial service to take drink and food orders was timely, after that, not so much. Food finely came with two of the party ordering steaks - yes, one was very over cooked and one was acceptable, albeit not a good cut for $55. Bottom line, spend your $$$$ on steak elsewhere."

  • "Ray's on the River is a great establishment with the best view, ambiance, and amazing food. The food is expensive but worth it. The servers are great and you don't spend copious amounts of time waiting to be served."

  • "Me dining experience at Rays On The River was nothing short of amazing! The service is way above par and the food I don't even think words can describe how delicious it is! I must say that the BRUNCH was named #1 in Atlanta for a reason! I will be returning for dinner!"

  • "We had a gift card for Rays on the River and decided to use it this past weekend. We have both been there before but not for a couple years. Everything was fantastic. I had the salmon Oscar and my wife had the Parmesan crusted scallops. Both were absolutely delish!! We sat in the bar area and there was a small combo playing with a great singer so the atmosphere was perfect. Also had a view of the river. We had a couple drinks and the dinner and although we knew it would be over what we had on the gift card it was not expensive for what we had and how much we enjoyed it. Will go back!"

We'll be back to do it again...thanks to our server, Brett, and all of the team for making this a memorable occasion."
