  • "We love Ray's on the River. Great for special occasion. Offers nice free cake for birthdays :) Has place for improvement. Overall experience still great! Thank you, Ray's, for being in our neighborhood all those years! We usually make reservation for party of 4. You should wait in the hallway if your friends are late. I prefer to relax and have drink instead of staying and waiting. Nobody even invites us to wait in a bar. I really do not like that kind of beginning of my almost fine dining evening. It is not fine dining actually. The Restaurant does not have dress code. There were guys wearing shorts and flip-flops..."

  • "Had an Open Table reservation, got there seated quickly at one of the smallest tables there. Asked for a larger table, preferably one of their nicer booths. Server went to check availability. Restaurant was not crowded, booths were available. I respectfully persisted in my request for a nicer table. It appeared walk ins got the good tables and patrons with reservations were carted off to horrible areas in the restaurant. That is what happened next. A manager, with a smart--- attitude came and carted me and my friend to a remote, undesirable area which is how this brunch ended. I, again, respectfully, let my opinion of this treatment be known telling the manager I would cancel an upcoming reservation at this restaurant. I will not return!"

  • "Booked at Ray's for our anniversary dinner. I called and requested a table by the window so we could see the water. We got close- a cozy booth with a water view. Impeccable service and yummy dinner, followed by a complimentary piece of chocolate cake in celebration of our anniversary. After dinner we retired to the bar for some entertainment-soft, contemporary music in another cozy booth! A perfect evening."

  • "We had the lobster special. It was delicious. But before we finished our salad (which arrived a few minutes after we placed our order), the lobster arrived. I felt extremely rushed. If we hadn't slowed down on purpose, we would have been in and out in 50 minutes. As it was we were out in 65 minutes. When we go to a nice restaurant we like to savor the experience. Not feel very rushed. We had a table by the river and I felt they wanted to get us out so they could run someone else by the table. I don't plan to go back."

  • "Sat our side on a Saturday night - 6:15 reservation. Negatives: Salty wilted salads, lobster special was poor quality (both lobsters mushy). Key lime pie was very commercial tasting - different from previous times we've ordered it (maybe at Ray's Creek) Positives: Wonderful setting, good service, nice wine list, and a great dirty martin. First negative experience at a Rays."

  • "i made my reservation like everyone else but when i asked to sit with a view of the river the waiter told me the tables had been reserved, when i reserved my table there was no option for seating preference, it was my girlfriends birthday and she really wanted to see the river, other than the bad seating they gave us it was great, hopefully i can see the river next time i go..."

  • "Made a reservation at the last minute for our anniversary dinner but we were still able to get a great table by the window. Nice river view. Service was excellent. We both had the lobster special. It was very good but not excellent. Caesar salad was great. Crab bisque was delicious. Drinks were great and the chocolate mousse cake was awesome. Next time (maybe in the fall) we will probably try outside seating."

  • "The overall experience was extremely delightful and for the most part my family and I enjoyed our night out at Ray's. The wait staff was superb and the food complimented the wait service however the two young ladies that greeted us were(are) dreadful and their demeanor was not a representation of Ray's. We were 30 minutes early but told to find wait staff to order a glass of water or coffee while we wait. Not acceptable for me to walk around a restaurant and beg for a glass of water or a cup of coffee while I wait for me table."

Dishes we had were all outstanding in quality and reasonable portions. Wine list was extensive but we found a couple of nice, reasonably priced ($30 to 40) choices."

Ray’s offers a great variety of food, but I was disappointed to see there were no obvious changes in brunch menu from our prior visits. The food is good but like most buffets, food tends to dry out and is not always hot. I still would recommend trying the brunch."

  • "We asked for a table by the window when I made the reservation 2 weeks in advance. We were sat, instead by a service station, no window. Our server took over 10 minutes to acknowledge us and through the night we hardly saw him. I believe the server knew he neglected us, but he never apologized or asked some one to cover our table. Poor service. I spoke with the manager, he was apologetic and took money off the bill, but still celebration evening was ruined"

Every aspect of our evening was outstanding; friendly hostesses, a knowledgeable and enthusiastic server (Brett), delicious and well-timed food and cocktails, an attentive serving team, and the breathtaking view! Ray's management is top notch; Alex was visible through the entire evening, engaging customers, which is a sign of a successful operation!   • "This was my first time here and I was not disappointed. The shrimp was great and the sides actually are shareable. The creamed spinach was delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed the chocolate cake that I received in honor of my birthday. My husband's salmon was a bit well done, but it was whisked away and shortly replaced with another perfect plate complete with fresh hot sides. An overall great experience. I look forward to dining there in better weather and perhaps being able to sit outside or near the window to better enjoy the view."

  • "I definitely have had better experiences at Ray's - this was a disappointing experience. First, I requested a private table and we were seated in the center aisle with people walking on either side of us. Second, my husband ordered the prime rib medium and it came out well done - the chef offered to replace it, but we'd already been there for quite some time. I ordered the KC Strip medium, and it came out more well and had a burnt flavor to it. The highlight of the evening was the wine list (half price bottles on Sunday evenings) and the dessert - chocolate/raspberry cake. We'll definitely be rethinking our next anniversary dinner location."

My only complaint is that we were 15 minutes early for our reservation and was asked to step to the side and wait a few minutes; however, while standing there we were forgotten about and a later reservation was seated before us. Not a total deal breaker...our server, Mike, the food, and atmosphere more than made up for that small snafu."

  • "We went here for our Anniversary and they had a table by the window overlooking the river waiting for us. The food was very good. The restaurant is a little pricey but well worth the money on a special occasion. They must have been a little slow when we got there because they were in a bit of a hurry to clear our plates off the table. We will probabaly come back again to celebrate another special occasion."

  • "We had a special anniversary dinner for two at Ray's. They set us up with a wonderful table with an excellent view of the river, which sparkled in the sunset. The food was a treat--the salmon was perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned, and the scallops were large and gourmet-level. Service was just right, and we never felt rushed. Ray's is a lively scene but it is not noisy, as so many Atlanta restaurants are."

  • "I ordered the blackened salmon spinach salad. The waiter asked how I wanted the fish cooked, and I replied 'medium.' When served the fish was essentially raw inside, 'rare' at best. And the salad was thickly coated with enough dressing for half a dozen salads. After being served none of the service people came to our table to ask how the food is."
