On a scale of 1 to 10,I would give it a 7. Some of the food could use a bit more seasoning. Also the man at the omelet station spoke very little English so it was difficult to explain to him what I wanted. But all and all, it turned out to be a good experience.
I will say that the brunch is not a representation of the restaurant's cuisine on a regular day. Rays is known for its excellent food. The shrimp and grits are the best. And my boyfriend loves the Delmonico steak. They are a bit pricy. But for the real foodies, this place is definitely a must try. I did not know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised that everything was awesome. The food was excellent and the wait staff was incredible. One of the wait staff (I think that his name was Jorge) noticed my youngest son only eating certain items and took him on a tour of the complete buffet where he tried several food items that he turned out to like. This made my wife's day because my son is so picky. We were taken immediately to our table after being greeted warmly and personally. The server was with us within moments of seating. He was quite knowledgeable and helpful in his suggestions. The food came quickly, it was hot and very good. We had the lunch pasta/shrimp, the "pot pie" and a vegetarian dish. All three of us agreed the food was top notch.
I had read some of the reviews online and they were, honestly, pretty negative. The manager offered to relocate us to a larger table in the rear past the bar and it was a great dinner. Excellent ambiance and quality of food.
