  • "I went to rays to celebrate prom with my boyfriend, my best friend, and several family members. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, the service, and the atmosphere. Rays in the city is a beautiful place to fine on any special occasion and I would definitely recommend it to anyone!"

  • "I had their seafood special that was offered that night - red snapper. The fish was inedible. I've never had fish with such a texture - I could not even cut it. i was with a group and noted someone with the same dish having the same problem. I am certain the fish was not a red snapper (probably ran out). I like the service. Wine selection was very good and like the atmosphere but the food was too disappointing to ever recommend this restaurant."

  • "We were dining with friends that we only see once or twice a year and the front dining area was very loud. This made conversation a little difficult but there is no complaint with the quality of food and service."

  • "I absolutely love Ray's and dine here whenever I am in Atlanta. There crab cakes are usually the best ones around, however, this time they had quite a lot of shell in them. I had the Brownie Sundae for dessert and it was supposed to have banana's but there were no bananas when it was served and the brownie was on the dry side. Must have been an off night or something because usually it is the best food around."

  • "I got filet oscar style and it was delicious! My steak was a little over cooked but it was still great and I could cut it with a fork. We went there to celebrate a night out and it was perfect. My wine was great too!"

  • "On my reservation, I noted that my visit was for a birthday celebration and requested seating near the music. While the musician acknowledged many guest in our area, it would have been nice to get a special acknowledgement from her or someone"

  • "The food was ok but not great. Unfortunately the area we were seated in was so loud that it was difficult to hold a conversation."

  • "We were going out to celebrate our 1 year anniversary but unfortunately we picked a bad night to dine. It was prom night for local schools and we were seated in the middle of several loud groups. The food was good, not great. We might give it another try."

  • "I called ahead, made reservations and requested a quiet intimate table. I noted some on-line reviews complained of noise. They seated us in a quiet little corner away from the bar noise - a perfect little niche for a romantic meal. My guy sampled sushi as an appetizer and pronounced it fresh and flavorful. I had the Chilean Sea Bass - outstanding! His entree choice (Parmesan Scallops) was served over a risotto that (unfortunately) had onions. He has a serious aversion to onions. They quickly replaced it with another side of his choice. The service was attentive but not intrusive. We live out of town, but will definitely revisit this restaurant."

  • "Multiple occasions this restaurant. Always well satisfied. Service uneven this visit. Appetizer (oysters) took forever, came after salads served. Server offered free deserts as compensation (we took one and shared) but reviewing my charges later I saw we were charged for desert also."

  • "This was my first visit to Rayis in the city. Even though I arrived late I found the greeting at the door extremely inviting and proffesional. We were quickly escorted to our table where our friends had been seated. There was evidence of more to come,"

  • "We go to celebrate and so I can have my parmesan crusted scallops! Delicious and never disappoints. Love the ambience and impeccable service."

  • "I had heard a lot about Ray's but this was our first dining experience. What a great restaurant! The food and service was top shelf."

  • "Our server was slow and clueless at times. It took an average of 10 minutes from request to get drink refills. We had a party of 6, and all received and finished their entree before mine arrived. The waiter did apologize several times, but I should have been comped for that long of a delay. We had three separate checks and two were wrong. The food was very good, but the prices are too high to have such poor service."

  • "Our party of four asked to be reseated in a quieter part of place but told we would then have to wait 45 minutes more. So that did not happen . Wehad trouble hearing each other. Waiter was good but couldn't overcome the noise. The food was not great but it was good. The couple in our party who had suishi liked theirs the best and fried calamari was very good. Steaks were overlooked. I was disappointed since I had read good reviews. Would not return."

  • "This is a good grab lunch, meet a friend for quick dinner place and location near Marta station (Peachtree Center) is convenient. It is NOT a place for special occasions we found out for sure Too noisy, not a leisure enjoy time with a special person place. They need to learn how to make Caesar salads - was just moist lettuce with a few croutons and parmesan cheese grated on it in a bowl - was awful and clearly prepared by someone with no knowledge of salads. I ate a few bites but rest went back. Even Waffle House could do a better salad. Waiters were attentive in the midst of several large groups so it was very busy. We opted to get dessert at another restaurant."

  • "My wife and I went to Ray's to celebrate a day filled with good news. We were staying downtown so it was a short walk from our hotel. We had a drink in the bar ( there was live entertainment) and then enjoyed a delicious dinner. I went with the new 3 course set price menu and my wife had swordfish. We will go back plus we want try Ray's on the River."

  • "One of my Co workers recommended this place while I was in town. I gave it a chance and the food was pretty good. Oysters, Steak, and scallops were good, not amazing, but good. Be careful while you eat the crab cakes, my wife had a bite with a piece of shell that cut the roof of her mouth a little. Also don't waste your time ordering the Lobster risotto, it's more like Onion risotto with a small single piece of lobster. When we sent it back they said it was made with a lobster stock. I told them if you label it as lobster risotto, instead of risotto with lobster or lobster stock you expect the lobster to be the hero of the dish and this clearly wasn't. Instead it was very oniony Decent place, but don't see myself returning."

  • "The best seafood I had while in Georgia and Florida"

  • "We arrived with a party of 9 and seated immediately. Even though the place was full it was not overwhelmingly noisy so it was perfect. We ordered appetizers and drinks and then main courses. One of our members in the group ordered the daily special and the water came back after about 5 minutes of placing her order to confirm how she wanted it prepared. When the food arrived, her dish was prepared incorrectly and the waiter basically looked at her as though he delivered it the way she ordered it. He took the dish back and had them make another dish this took at least 20 more minutes. The dish should have been rushed and service wasn't that great. The food was excellent though. Could use some training for the servers though."

  • "We love Ray's on the River and were looking forward to trying Ray's in the City when business took us downtown for an evening event. The service was slow, the wait staff almost ignored the table and we were in the middle of the room. The food was good, but not great (Salmon Oscar and Sea Bass). For the price we were expecting better. This was also the first time an Open Table restaurant experience was substandard."

  • "My wife and I dined at Ray's recently on a conference trip to Atlanta. We'd had appetizers beforehand at a conference reception, so we ate skipped the appetizers and salad at Ray's and only ordered entrees. We both had the small filet mignon, accompanied with Yukon Gold mashed potatoes and a cabernet reduction -- all excellent. I added a side of sea scallops and had three large, plump scallops. We complemented our meal with the always-good Simi Cabernet Sauvignon. The food was very good, as was the service. The only slight downside was both waiters pushing a special wine deal too strongly - a nice Jordan wine, admittedly, but priced far above anything else on the menu, and we didn't need to have multiple people pushing it on us."

  • "There are so many fabulous restaurants in Downtown Atlanta but I am glad we stumbled upon this gem. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced for the quality and the area. I got the filet and it was the most tender melt in your mouth cut Ive ever had. He got the shrimp and grits which had such amazing and unique flavor. And the dessert... Died and went to heaven! Our server was great, very friendly and personable. Live Jazz, amazing food, overall great experience."

  • "We love all of Ray's Establishments! We live north of Atlanta and when in town love to dine with some quality seafood dishes. The Grouper and the Seafood Platter did not disappoint. Terrific/attentive service delivered by Aaron and his steward/helper. Will be back!"

  • "Had dinner at Ray's in the City this past Saturday night. Started out with Oysters on the half shell and Calamari - Delicious!!! My husband had Surf and Turf and I had the Filet. The food was wonderful, the wait staff was friendly and waited on us impeccably. Would highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "The tables set up in the dining room were a little too cramped when people would get up or as the staff delivered food items they would run into your chairs."

  • "Terrific food and service. Seated within moments of our reservation time. Nice wine list and wonderful menu."

  • "My wife and I went here because it was close to our hotel and I had read good reviews - and we were not disappointed. The wait wasn't too bad, even for a busy night. And though the two person tables are a bit small, the food and service more than made up for it. I will be recommending Ray's to any friend who visits Atlanta."
