"The food was good, but not over the top. We all liked our meals, but we had one person in our group who is a vegan and his meal wasn't appetising at all. Keeping in mind that Ray's specializes in seafood we called ahead to make sure that he could be accomodated and were told it was no problem at all. The server seemed a little unsure of whether a meal could be provided for him and the dish he was served was very lacking.. Overall we thought the service and food was good and the complimentary valet parking was great!"

"Went for Seattle Restaurant Week dinner. Very disappointing. Poor quality ingredients used for this "cheap" dinner, e.g., skirt steak drowned in teriyaki type sauce with spaetzle out of a box and dried out salmon on a bed of tasteless white rice (not jasmine) and no sauce essentially. Server called spaetzle "spackle", and rushed us thru the courses so the table could be turned quickly. When we asked to hold dessert for a bit so we could finish our wine, he seemed very annoyed. If Ray's goal was to tempt you back to the restaurant with this "bargain" dinner, they failed miserably. We will not go back."

"I've been eating at Ray's Cafe for nearly 20 years. The menu has always been pretty much the same. Ho-hum salmon burgers, upper deck salad, raw tuna salad, etc etc -- always good, but predictable. Imagine my surprise when I witnessed the new menu on our last visit. I inquired about the house salad with walnuts, and the charming waitress assured me that the new house salad with cherries would be delightful. SHE WAS RIGHT! Not only that, she informed me that there was a new chef in the house and there were more than a few changes coming. When the dinner arrived, my dinner guests and I were all amazed at the quality and presentation of the food. It was the BEST dining experience I've ever had at Ray's. YAY to the new chef!!!"

"Great food (small salmon plate and scallop salad were amazing). Always a great view. Our server was slammed and she handled it very well. It wasn't the best service but that was out of her control. She still touched base with us regularly even though she was not able to take our drink and food orders very quickly. Absolutely not her fault."

"I have tried all the other places for Easter Brunch such as Salty's, Ivar's, Palisade and Edgewater. This year we decided to try Ray's Cafe. What a wise decision. The view was spectacular. Even though there were just 2 of us, the Maitre d' sat us by the window. The crab legs and the shrimps were fresh and delicious. My husband can't stop thinking about the scrumptous buffet. We will definitely go to Ray's for Easter from now on."
