Ray's BoathouseGreat Stop and great service!Very nice presentation and delicious food.
A little on the pricey side but worth it for my clients.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, service and foodAs always Ray's is an excellent place for dining. The remodel is lovely and the food, service, and view are outstanding.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's DayPerhaps it was being with my handsome son who lives in Seattle, but Ray's made the drive from Bellingham to Seattle for brunch very worthwhile! My husband, son, and I enjoyed sharing the Hangtown fry, wild mushroom frittata, and the Northwest scramble. The complimentary mimosa and glass of orange juice started our brunch on a festive note, and the croissants and pear muffins were delicious. With the Mother's Day crowd, it would have been nice to have quieter or no background music, so that we could have heard each other a bit more easily, but I realize that I am especially sensitive to noise, and I did not ask the waitstaff to lower the sound level.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMSpecial OccasionSeafood at its best, with the incredible view of water and sunset over the Olympics.
The value is good, but gratuity is added (I like to feel I tip, not pay... But oh well). Still
the fact my wife felt special was priceless.
Just know the price of ambience does get inflated by about 25% more than an equally
nice meal downtown.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMRay's is better than ever!Ray's has changed quite a bit recently, but all for the better. Not that Rays was ever bad. But the renovations look great and the menu was unbelievable. We had the best lobster we've ever had. And the service was perfect. The view was perfect... I guess maybe that's the only complaint is the sun coming in was a bit blinding... but hey, its a water side seat at dinner time... you gotta live with some sun. This was a really great dinner.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMJust deliciousWe had the sablefish, all 4 of us. Everything was cooked perfectly. The fish melted in our mouths, everything seasoned to perfection. The waiter recommended this dish and we were quite grateful!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMDelightful dinner at Ray's!As scenic beauty increases, the quality of food and service often declines. This was not the case at Ray's, where the fish was perfectly cooked, the service friendly and accommodating, and the somelier accessible and helpful in selecting an appropriate bottle. It's a pricey meal but perfect for a special occasion.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic mealMy wife and I went to Ray's for our anniversary. We hadn't been there in years, but it had always been good. We were wonderfully surprised at how great our meal was. The flavors were amazing, and they've really stepped up their game from good to great. We will definitely not be waiting so long to return.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was our first time in Seattle,It was our first time in Seattle, and Ray's was clearly the high point, recommended by a friend and Seattle seasoned pro.
Outstanding food and service, and the most beautiful views we have ever seen in a restaurant, bar none, sunset over Puget Sound.
Have to see to believe. Amazing, delicious seafood, and we are New Yorkers, and pretty hard to please. Just can't say enough about Ray's. Oh, and let's not forget romantic!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoying Ray's for 38 years!Whether for a special occasion or just a Sunday Brunch and Bloody Mary, Ray's has always delivered with great seafood, ambience, customer service and a spectacular view of Puget Sound during our 38 years of marriage. A Seattle landmark restaurant that maintains its fine tradition of customer service and culinary standards. Thank you for another great evening.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed the revamped menuWe enjoyed the revamped menu and food. The food was very seasonal, creative, and flavorful. In addition the staff was very friendly and the service was stellar.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, great view, new look.Dined at Ray's on the first sunny, summer-like day in Seattle in many months, and it was nearly perfect. The newly-renovated interior adds a stylish new bar with a view and updated seating. The food is still great - northwest seafood with a modern presentation. And the view, especially on a clear evening, is outstanding.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of my very favorite SeattleOne of my very favorite Seattle area restaurants. Awesome dining selections, great bar, very complete wine selection, and a breathtaking view of Puget Sound and the Olympic Peninsula beyond. I always make sure and visit Ray's on every visit to the Puget Sound area.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMRay's is Excellent! My group was very impressed with Ray's. We went on a beautiful, clear sky evening. One of my group members who was visiting from New York said that he never liked Seattle until he saw the view from Ray's.
The food was superb. I will certainly bring Ray's more business.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMRay's is now RadiantThe newly reopened Boathouse at Ray's is a treasure. World class setting with the dropdead iconic Olympic Mountain views hovering over the sound. Attentive and knowledgable service. Seasonaly fabulous food. A new menu. A fresh, refined look. Classy and elegant. We had a lovely Birthday dinner there and will come back often.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMMy wife and I had a very goodMy wife and I had a very good time, food very taste and we are looking forward for a

And the view was spectacular!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe dined from the appetizerWe dined from the appetizer and small plates menu, which was not only considerably less expensive but allowed for variety in what we tried. Everything we had was delicious and beautifully presented. We were very happy.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing food and service andAmazing food and service and a great overall experience. The staff was kind and very helpful. Also the cab program to downtown hotels is an added perk. The tuna poke and sablefish were to die for.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMLike butter...PERFECTLY!Everything was perfect for my husband's birthday. We had the mussels and I had the sable fish and husband had the halibut. All were perfect. The sable fish is quite possibly THE best thing I've ever eaten. And the service was great! John was knowledgeable and helpful and honest. We will ask for him again.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMRay's Boathouse is an incredibleRay's Boathouse is an incredible restaurant. They serve delicious, creative drinks, including a killer one that has grapefruit and rosemary. The appetizers we had were all excellent...calamari, roasted beets/goat cheese, brussel sprouts (yes, even a veggie can be good), crab cakes, shrimp, roasted artichokes. Dinner was fabulous as well. I had scallops that would melt in your mouth. The olive bread was delicious too. Ray's makes housemade caramels too, which were the best I ever had. But besides awesome food and drink, Ray's sits right on the water and is designed so every table has a fantastic view. It was a lovely evening, and I can't wait until I go there again. The service was impeccable and friendly too!4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWe thoroughly enjoyed ourWe thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Ray's Boathouse. We enjoyed our fresh Halibut and Salmon cooked to perfection and seasoned well. Our starters of preserved tomato and goat cheese salad and mussels were also very good. The portions were fine for us. This is a special occasion restaurant with a spectacular view.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent view as always withExcellent view as always with great food as well. We had guests with us from out of town, so they really enjoyed it. Food was good, but menu seemed a bit limited from what it has been in the past. The sides that came with the entrees weren't as good as the previous ones. The remodel looked good, but I don't know why so much of the restaurant was taken with a bar.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for special occasionsExcellent service (ask for Jonathan), and the new glass-walled bar is spectacular.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have enjoyed Ray's forWe have enjoyed Ray's for years. The food, service, and atmosphere are excellent. It seems to be pricier than before.
Definitely a great restaurant.
Wayne Johnson has another successful menu.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat evening of excellentGreat evening of excellent service by Erica and crew. Planning a re-visit with a party of 4 on 4/14 Sunday need to make reservation for 5:30.

We loved it.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMI got seated at window, greatI got seated at window, great view. Open Table usually gets me great seating. Oysters were outstanding. Clam chowder was a treat for the palate and the unusual presentation.
Halibut was moist and delicious. Portions were just right, not too big. Great view. Will take customers next time.Great waitres.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMAmong the best Osso Buco I'veAmong the best Osso Buco I've had! Service was fantastic. Our server was very personable and knowlegable. A wonderful evening with delicious food.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMI have been to many good restaurantI have been to many good restaurants, and this is now on the top of the list. The fish was so fresh. Our waiter was a really nice guy, yet professional. The view is amazing. The whole package was perfect. I would really recommend this spot.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was very good. ServiceFood was very good. Service was excellent. Look forward to going back.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMfabulous at sunsetRay's boathouse was fabulous. Had dinner with my wife and kids, beautiful sunny evening and after the sunset arrived...Puget Sound and the Olympic mountains were incredible. Had the Alaskan Halibut which was prepared perfectly. Crispy seared Alaskan king salmon and Sablefish in sake kasu were delicious. Portions are moderate so plan on appetizers to complement your main course. Our server was professional, friendly and made the entire experience memorable. Highly recommended!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful view....but we wereBeautiful view....but we were surprised the restaurant wasn't packed for Easter Brunch.
Perhaps our experience was why...
Beautiful view, but overpriced for average food. We had Easter Bruch with three meals. One glass of champagne was offered as complimentary (two of us did not drink), nice croissant/rolls, main entree and a very modest dessert selection (a couple of small tarts).
Rays Scramble - scrambled eggs with salmon with potatoes - basic scrambled eggs with hardly any salmon ($30)
Prime Rib - basic - nothing special($40)
Salmon with a heavy barbeque sauce and very undercooked even when ordered as medium ($40)
Coffee was extra.
If it wasn't for the view, it wouldn't be worth it. Won't be going back again soon.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWent for our anniversary andWent for our anniversary and our waiter was John L. and he was
Very friendly and attentive. Made our night very special and the food was amazing.
Overall we were very well taken care of and all staff were excellent
We appreciated the request to have a table with a great view by the window.
Please do let the Management know that John and his staff were excellent and the recent
renovations look good.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMWhen I lived in Seattle 20When I lived in Seattle 20 years ago, Ray's was known for it's excellent seafood, it's spectacular view of Puget Sound and it's understated elegance - it was an icon of pleasurable dining of those in the know in Seattle. All that remains true now, too, after having had a most excellent dinner Wednesday night. Me and my guests (one from MN) were impressed with the perfectly prepared, oh-so-fresh seafood (oysters on the half shell, steamed mussels and Alaska king salmon), and of course the view is still spectacular. My only note would be that the speakers over the corner booth were a bit too loud, taking away from the very nice ambience of the dining room (which is still casual and elegant at the same time).3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe view was really nice! The view was really nice! The best chowder I ever had, yeah.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMRay's is Ray's. The food isRay's is Ray's. The food is always VERY competently prepared, if not exactly a foodie's paradise. Portions always seem generous, the staff is first rate, and the view is one of the best in Seattle. Overall, you just can't really say anything bad about this place. We even commented about one small bit of plastic in the soup (probably just plastic wrap) and were spontaneously brought a salad to replace it, despite the fact that most of the soup had been consumed and we really weren't complaining! I also want to give a special shout out to our server who was professional, friendly, and always there when we needed him and never visible when we didn't. First rate and a great place to take out of towners as well as a regular visit for locals.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMRay's is sleek and statelyRay's is sleek and stately after the recent remodel, but hasn't lost a bit of its warm, welcoming atmosphere. The food is easily among the best in Seattle. They have an extensive wine list but also have amazing signature cocktails! And the service is absolutely perfect! And that view--heavenly! Ray's is a Seattle treasure that everyone should try to experience at least once.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time I went to Ray'sFirst time I went to Ray's after the remodel. Great decor and nicely updated. The view is unbeatable on a sunny evening. Service was excellent. Menu was well rounded and something for everyone. Prices OK. Food was great.
What I didn't like was that I had to pay extra for bread with my dinner. I would expect it to be included at a restaraunt of that caliber and not to nickel and dime me. The portions of the appetizer were fine but I was surprised of the size of the entree...very small. It was tasting menu size. If one didn't order an appetizer, I think they would walk away hungry.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMRay's still shinesWe were at Ray's Boathouse for my birthday. Two of us ordered the Dine around Seattle dinner. Mussel appetizer was great but there were enough in one order for two of us. My salmon was excellent and all of us would order it again. The lemon dessert was perfect but the blue cheese cheesecake was very strong and not the best for one of our dessert lovers.
The remodel is sleek, clean and modern making the downstairs space open and airy and providing views for all.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMRay's has been and probablyRay's has been and probably still is my favorite restaurant in Seattle. This trip was my first since the remodel. The updated decor is great - feels new but not a departure from the classic spirit that I love. The menu is less focused on seafood (a negative in my mind) and has a new small plates section (whatever). But the food is still excellent. I had the sablefish - the one thing held over from the previous menu as far as I could tell - the tomato and goat cheese salad, and the semifreddo for dessert.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMThe menu is not extensive. The menu is not extensive. A few more choices would have been better. Although, the food was fabulous.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a great table at the window....Had a great table at the window........The food fabulous..........service OK....
the only negative, the two of us were seated with a table of 8 or 10 right next to us and the waitress had to give most of her attention to them. Could have been more romantic if the group wasn't in our "lap".3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMSleek Ray's BoathouseReacquainted myself with Ray's Boathouse to check out the new executive chef's menu and the major renovation of the dining room area. The courses I selected from their Dine Around Seattle campaign were outstanding. And of course, there's the beautiful Puget Sound and Olympic Mountain views during sunset. Highly recommended!3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMThe sablefish is probablyThe sablefish is probably the best thing I've ever eaten. It is so tender, it melts in your mouth! Definitely a must-have. The oysters are delicious as usual, and the remodel looks great.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food as always as Ray's.Great food as always as Ray's. A bit disappointed in the remodel. Guess we loved the old style better--seemed to have better ambiance. Still a great place, however!3/10/2013 12:00:00 AM
