We also got to witness a bit of excellent customer service - one of the staff fishing a cell phone out from behind a banquet with a coat hanger where a 2-year-old had dropped it. Certainly above and beyond."

We had an amazing table, bouquet of flowers and champagne waiting on our arrival. The food is fantastic as well. Highly recommend the crab cakes and surf and turf."

  • "We chose Ray's to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary, and we couldn't be happier with our decision. We started upstairs in the Cafe to enjoy a drink and appetizer on the deck. One of the best views in Seattle, and crab dip to die for! We went downstairs to the Boathouse for our dinner, and we found a Happy Anniversary card waiting on our table--such a thoughtful touch. Amazingly attentive and knowledgeable waiter, and our steak and halibut were cooked to perfection. Highly recommend for a special occasion, or for a first class meal in a beautiful setting. Also appreciated the free valet parking."

  • "We celebrated our first anniversary and a birthday and everything was absolutely perfect! The restaurant called to confirm my reservation and I pushed the reservation back an hour - and of course we arrived at the original time, they simply suggested the bar until the table was ready which was perfect. The bar tender was an absolute delight and made my dad a daiquiri that he was craving and made it that traditional way that my Dad was hoping for. Such great service and a great way to start the meal on the 97 degree day! :) Our dinner was flawless and we felt right at home! We didn't want to leave and look forward to experiencing Ray's again soon."

  • "Ray's knows how to cook fish. We both had the sable fish that was cooked perfectly. Good wine list. The decor is a little boring although I know it was recently remodeled. The booths in the back carry sound directly to the window seats overlooking the water which is unfortunate. We will be back, though. This restaurant has more of a classic feel and the population is more geriatric."

  • "Ray's has been a Seattle favorite before the word "foodie " was invented. We dined on some very unusual seafood treasures-the white King Salmon poached with elegance, and the Black Cod, aka. sablefish, which was marinated, not too long with tender, baby, bok choy, rice surrounded with a luscious pool of green subtle seasoning. The cheese course we had at the end was served at the right (runny )m temperature, and the orange crème brulee was so fresh, and could have served 2 easily! On the front end, the salads were good , and appetizers as well, but not as creative or "to die for" as the subsequent courses. The wait staff is very professional, and we had a fantastic evening with an memorable enchanting view !"

The food was nothing special: have had much better Caesar salads. Ordered off-the-menu special of Copper River salmon which was tasteless. Vegetarian in our party was quite satisfied with vegetable choice and Chocolate Bomb dessert. Even though the food was somewhat disappointing, it was still an enjoyable experience."

  • "My wife and I ate too big of a lunch, and for what was suppose to be a special evening at Ray's, we were still full. We settled for appetizers and wine. We were somewhat pleased with appetizers. The calamari was a little rubbery (overcooked). Wine menu had a good selection and moderately priced. Prices are reasonable. Our mistake was we didn't order a salmon dish from Ray's signature dishes. If we return to Seattle we would definitely try salmon. The neighboring table of six top appeared locals and practically all had ordered a salmon plate."

  • "As always, the view of the sound was spectacular! The restaurant was beautiful!! However I paid way too much ($39) for a full plate of lentils with three less than bite sized scallops! Totally disappointed! Similar dish at other seafood restaurants would have been $10 with a variety of vegetables! Further, the wait staff was non existent! Not knowing whether the staff was shorthanded or not, I still left 15% gratuity, but was reluctant to do so. I am a frequent patron to Ray's and this was my first bad experience. If you go to a place enough, eventually, you will have a bad experience. So I give Ray's the benefit of the doubt, but I definitely feel taken advantage by the exorbitant price for what was served."

Found myself missing the original classic northwest menu and the funky original boathouse from days past. Ray's used to be our "go to" place for that special night out.   • "For a restaurant that lives off its reputation as a notable place in Seattle, Rays is a disappointing throw-back at best. I would not recommend it. They split our party of 14 into two seated tables, when I specifically requested we be seated together and have water views. The food is okay. Just okay. Nothing to write home about, nothing to "post" to your friends. Two people in the party complianed about thier drinks being very bitter, which I agree with. Everything was just "fair", and my scallops had shell in it, no cedar plank under the cedar salmon. I'd rather spend less and eat a burger next door- for same view. Go somewhere else. Seattle is foodie heaven, skip this,and go findit elsewhere."

Enjoyed the amazing view (and a pair of excellent cocktails) and friendly bartenders, and then our table was ready--a booth right in the corner against the window. Got to watch the sunset over the water, had the sommelier help us pick out a great bottle of wine, and loved every minute of our meal and evening."

We really liked him. The menu is good but spendy for the amount of food you get and fare that it was. We would return for a possible special occasion but both decided there other places we liked much better for the food. The view.... you can't beat."

  • "I always look forward to going to Ray's. But it is no longer the same. The server was absent and distant. Nothing special. The food was average and odd. The deconstructed clam chowder was terrible. It did not make sense. Fried clams on top of a brown gravy. Most diners in my group were not pleased with the odd pairings on the plates. Lentils with scallops? Not a good mix. While the wine list is inclusive, the prices were very high. I am sad to say that if I am going to pay that kind of money I will go elsewhere. It seems Ray's focus now is the outside deck and café."

  • "Me and my wife did a bit too much celebrating our wedding anniversary. This was the day after the anniversary. I am the skeptic who thinks a restaurant like Ray's would not be suitable for vegetarians as I have been bitten in the past in places that serve mostly sea food. The entire experience turned out to be otherwise. The staff was very friendly, we got a great booth style seat. It was not at all noisy. We ordered the appetizer and entrees, they tasty. The desert was mostly port wines and chocolates, they were both great. Overall, a great experience and great staff. We will visit it again for a special event."
