A word from Raymi
Welcome to Raymi, a modern Peruvian restaurant as dynamic as the country it celebrates. Raymi captures the multicultural spirit of Peru, blending the Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, and native influences that embody the country’s vibrant cuisine. The flavors are once familiar, adventurous, unexpected.

The Raymi experience revolves around a central Ceviche Bar, offering fresh seafood spiked with indigenous spices and ingredients. Add to that a Pisco Bar, pouring select labels alongside 30 house-infused varieties of the fiery liqueur.

We look forward to serving you soon. Salud y buen provecho!

My G.F and I were in the City for a day for a scavenger hunt and worked up an appetite. We has just gotten back from Peru a few weeks ago and were looking for some ceviche. We stumbled upon Raymi and were pleasantly surprised. From the moment we walked in the door we were greeted by the hostess who seated us. I was not sure what I wanted but explained to Sigee how we had just come back from Peru. Not only was he knowledgeable about the cuisine but he treated us like we were his best friends which was really nice. He recommended the Salmon Chifa and Mixto to start, and my G.F and I shared the Romaine salad. Sigee made our experience a memorable one and we can not wait to come back!

  • First time trying Peruvian

First time trying Peruvian cuisine and wasn't disappointed. The striped bass appetizer was flavorful followed by a Peruvian paella that contained the best octopus I've tasted. The staff were attentive and took the time to explain all the dishes. We decided not to go for dessert, but the floor manager, Sigi, gave us rice pudding on the house - so glad he did as it was another excellent dish which arrived with a candle as it was my birthday. Strongly recommend!!

Another Richard Sandoval success. The restaurant is uniquely designed in that there are three distinctly different and attractive dining areas as well as a bar where can dine comfortably. The food is also unique and delicious. Peru has an indigenous cuisine enhanced by Japanese influence because of the considerable Japanese Peruvian population and this restaurant has latched on to something really tasty and different. All staff, especially our Server, were thoughtful, extraordinarily accommodating, gracious and professional.

Raymi is without a doubt the best and most exciting addition to the Latin culinary landscape in the city since the introduction of Rayuela in 2007. Most of the dishes I tried were executed masterfully and with keen attention to some of the most subtle details pertinent to every dish. The service was knowledgable and friendly. The drinks and the wine options reflect the shinning creativity and terroir sophistication characteristic of South America and Peru in particular. The menu, while reflecting flashes of china and Japan as transpired by the Peruvian culinary prism, reflect an inclination to the inventive and creative spirit permeating through some of today's Latin American cuisines. A true gem both in execution and spirit!

  • The duck Paella was nothing
    OpenTable Diner Since 2007VIP
    Dined on 9/22/2012
The duck Paella was nothing compared to the one Nuela served, it was salty, yet the green curry was interesting addition. It has few duck breast slices on top, nothing of the delicious confit and foie grass that Nuela served. Raymi served paella in a plate rather than in the "wok", so there was no socarrat to scrape off the bottom. All in, if you're after paella, go to Socarrat. Also the drinks took more than 15 mins to get delivered to the table, while the restaurant was not too crowded - so they cant use that as an excuse.

1st experience with Peruvian food, & we were blown away! Were greeted by manager (Sigi) when we entered who explained that if there was a dish we didn't care for, they would replace it. Our server (Leo) was highly knowledgeble about the menu, & after his input, we selected the Tuna Nikkei ceviche & the causa of the day (ahi tuna & king salmon), both of which we shared. Both delicious - the spicy mayo in the causa gave it a nice kick. For main courses. one of us ordered Arroz con Pato (duck breast, duck leg, scallop & cilantro; the other Arroz con Mariscos (octopus, scallops, mussels, shrimp, fried calamari, aji panca & jasmine rice, very similar to paella. Both courses were outstanding. For dessert, we shared a Lucuma ice cream sundae

We were seated in a dark corner in then early empty back room. The decor was unimaginative and somewhat depressing. There were too many waitpersons who didn't know what to do . The music was really terrible and disturbing. The food was just ok except one excellent fish dish. It was way overpriced. We won't be back even though we live a block away

There were four on our party and we all were impressed with the innovative fusion menu and we all were blown away by the things we ordered. Fantastic service. The food was also incredible, although I'm not sure if it is 100% Peruvian. Some ingredients and combinations were more Mexican than Peruvian (for instance, Peruvians would never put cilantro or avocado in their ceviche), but you would only mind if you are a Peruvian food purist. And, as I said, food was delicious anyway. The ambiance is also great. Another Peruvian restaurant opened just a block from Raymi a few months ago. Food is great in both of them, but service and ambience in Raymi are by far better.

Unusual, creative cooking. Interesting combinations that reflect the indigenous Peruvian culture, as well as more recent immigrants from Japan. The maitre d' was unusually attentive and friendly. The tables in the rear room were very pleasantly separated from each other. The menu choices are varied, and both the fish eaters and the carnivores in our party were very happy with their choices. The food isn't like any other cuisine I am familiar with, which makes dining at Raymi an interesting, as well as delicious, experience.

Food: I would give very high marks indeed, for the exoticism of its taste and the daring presentation. Fresh take on the art of introducing ceviche, not overwhelming , but flirting with "jazzy". But most everything is reliably special and appropriately festive. An well oiled machine that should crank up very soon. Good luck!
