Although NY is incredible, it is rare for me to have a memorable dining experience. and perhaps those I can count on one hand, and Raymi was one of them. My husband and I attached a last minute booking. The restaurant is nice and warm. We sat at the crevice bar and watched how it worked and we can see the extensive training. The chefs move quickly and easily. All tiraditos and ceviches are prepared with care. We are traveling to Peru next month and we are excited hoping there in Lima better than this experience.

I met a friend I hadn't seen in a while here. We arrived early and they were able to give us a table right away - lots of space in this restaurant. The sangria was delicious. I had the classic ceviche and the kale salad - both were amazing. So fresh & so much flavor. For dessert, we shared the donuts which are not to be missed -- they are like heaven in your mouth! Above all, I appreciated the service. Our waitress was phenomenal- we never had to wait for anything or had to try to get her attention. Great experience. I'm sure I'll be back.

The waiter was very knowledgable about the menu and extremely patient with our questions and providing suggestions for share plates, etc. The scene was very European, and slightly older than I'm used to seeing out at trendier restaurants. Food was great and the price fix was a great deal!

As usual I had a great time at Raymi! I typically do date night with the husband but decided to share my find with one of my girls. We sat at the bar which is completely set up to accommodate a civilized dining experience. The bar staff was amazing! It was like we had private service all night. They were helpful with dinner suggestions as well as drinks. I have a gluten allergy and a member of the staff stopped by to confirm my selections as well as inquire about other allergies. Awesome! I would highly recommend the ceviche.

We had an early seating at Raymi. The restaurant is large but cozy, and the tables are not too close to each other. We ordered several small plates - cornmeal cakes, octopus, empañadas. A wonderful mix of Japanese and South American influences. Our waiter could not have been nicer or more helpful, and the owner was circulating among the tables, making sure everyone was happy. The only disappointment was the bread pudding desert - way below average. We definitely will be back.

I am posting a note because this place is OUTSTANDING! Great place for ceiliacs ( gluten-free needed). The selection is great, attention to detail from the mixing of different tastes to the way the cilantro leaf lays on the plate. As main dishes, we had the chaufa Completo, and i had the roasted duck leg, Arroz con Pato. And let us not forget the drinks!! The Piscos are delicious, using detailed and original recepies. Wine list is offering a wide range as well... Great Peruvian base, combined with a touch of exotic, encompasing a complex palette. The place is spacious, inviting, with a contemporary decor, and, even with the music in the beackground, you can carry a conversation- ...nice "necessary rooms"... Will go back!! deffinitly!!

This was my second time dining there and it was even more exceptional than the the first. I went with 2 other ppl and we had ceviche dinner and drinks. The staff was extremely accommodating and went way beyond their requirements. Our server Carlos was amazing and was able to anticipate our wants and needs before we even had to ask. The food was incredibly and super fresh. To top it off, the manager came over and gifted us with free dessert (on top of our 2 that we ordered) and made sure we had a good time throughout the night. I will be back there in no time and perhaps even do my birthday there.

My wife and I went to Raymi over the weekend to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Our waiter, Ian, was very knowledgeable, even gave us a little history lesson on Cerviche. Everything he suggested for my wife was fantastic, from the appetizer to the dessert. The corn cake and the brioche are worth the money. I really liked the fact that they gave us enough time in between each course so that we didn’t feel rushed and could talk and enjoy the night out. The ambiance was suitable for dinner for two, but is also just as suitable for groups. Everyone in the place was accommodating, and they treated us as if we were the most important diners in the place. It was quite welcoming and a perfect choice for my wife's birthday dinner.

I had read good things about Raymi, but was blown away by the excellent and unusual food, the caliber of the service and the ambiance. It's a great spot for a date, for an evening out, or for a party (they have long tables in the front part of the restaurant). Come ready to drink pisco sours and to eat beautifully prepared and presented food. The maître d' came by throughout the meal to check on how everything was going. I wouldn't change a thing.

The greeting, the first impression of the room, and presentation/plating and many of the tastes are very very fine but then it all fell apart. Service started out almost ingratiating, then moved to rather pretentious through to non-existent. Had to chase waiter down for the check at the end. I would go back but only to the front of the house ... avoid the rear "special" glassed in dining area (echoing and quickly much too loud).

I have eaten at Peruvian restaurants before, and I must say Raymi is definitely one of the better one's I have experienced. The three course meal is a no brainer for $38 dollars you get an appetizer, entree & dessert. My recommendations for anyone is: Appetizer: chicharron sliders, jalea OR classico. AMAZING!! Entree: Chuafa completo, Lomo saltado or skirt steak. AMAZING!! Dessert: Brioche bread pudding & peruvian crispy donuts. AMAZING!! Overall I love food and must say Raymi food quality & preparation is exquisite. I do have high expectation for Peruvian food as at is one of my favorites. You can not go wrong for a first date, romantic dinner even a nice spot to hang with friends. I recommend. Tell them Daniel sent you!!

After reading the reviews my bf and I were excited to try this Peruvian restaurnat. However, once we started getting our dishes we were very disappointed. The cerviche was not bad and my bf liked it. The octopus was so tough and overcooked it was impossible to eat besides the fact that it was cold. The pork was dry with a bland crust. The drinks were good. Service was very slow as our waiter was more interested in chatting with his friends. I was excited to try this restaurnat after the amazing culinary experience I had in Lima but was sorely disappointed. We won't be going back it's not worth a second try.

Went with a couple of friends foe the third time and this restaurant never disappoints. Drinks, mostly all made with Pisco (a peruvian white brandy), pack a punch but are well balance and flavors are very good. The ceviches are amazing full of flavor. Definitely a modern take on the dish. Chaufa is probably the best dish on the menu and is full of flavor. Deserts are all amaizing. Definitely a place to visit if you are in NYC.

Now that La Mar has closed, Raymi is your next best Peruvian option for ceviche and tirditos. Although I must say that my Pisco sour was a bit heavy on the simple syrup. Normally eschewing carbs, I found the arroz of the arroz mariscos intensely flavorful. The seafood was perfectly prepared. The pulpo small plate offered a uniquely crunchy texture from toasted quinoa. Unfortunately, the pulpo was a bit chewy (try the pulpo at Toro - my benchmark.) The bread pudding was actually not prosaic due to the addition of the toffee and brown butter ice cream. A nice meal for the $38 prix fix - on Saturday night.

This Peruvian gem is the restaurant that people will thank you for sending them to. Not only is the food extraordinarily good, but the service is top notch!! The staff will walk you through all their regional specialties from the Pisco cocktails to the Ceviches, and make you feel excited about trying something new!!! One of our family members is a vegetarian so I was hopeful she would find something on the menu she would like. Not only did she find exciting choices on her own, but Sigi the general manager was wonderful!!! He brought her different things to try, and even had a special dessert made just for her. He is fabulous!!! This place is very beautiful, delicious, and a wonderful out of the ordinary experience!!!! A must go!!

I initially came here for restaurant week and usually service and food can be just OK due to the overwhelming swarms of people that come in, which most restaurants aren't used to. I had such an amazing experience my first time that I brought my parents here for their birthdays. The wait staff was super attentive and there wasn't a moment where we felt we were waiting around for someone to help us. We ordered the pre-fixe menu so we could try an array of plates. By far my favorites were the chicharron sliders, the arroz con pato and the bread pudding. Exceptional food, service and I definitely plan on recommending this restaurant to more people.
