RaymiMust try Peruvian! The food was absolutely delicious! We ordered the tuna ceviche, pig ears, sliders, hanger steak, and the donuts. Not only was the food tasty, but it was also presented nicely. Our water glasses were never empty and the staff was very attentive and friendly. The room was spacious with high ceilings and the seats were spaced far enough apart so that you could not hear other people's conversations. I thought it was a little on the pricey side, but well worth it!5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing if you like foodI took my wife here for her birthday and we could not have had a better experience. The ceviche was the best we've ever had, they had a very affordable happy hour and dinner was amazing. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Get the doughnuts for dessert. Just do it.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWaiter was very knowledgeWaiter was very knowledge about the menu and recommended some outstanding5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat ambience and serviceThe restauarant had an outside dining area that provided ample lighting for the rest of the restuarant. Because of the angle of the buildings and the setting sun, the lighting effect was stunning and provided a refreshing and tranquil experience. The food was great--their ceviche flight is a MUST. Aside from that I was a bit disappointed with the serving sizes of their entrees, and the seafood creamy sauces were a bit watery. Which for these reasons I gave Raymi a three rather than a four. Lastly, the waiters were extremely knowledgeable and attentive, even the baristas too. Outstanding service in all.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMHighly recommend this place.Highly recommend this place. Very friendly staff who were on the ball and know everything about the food and the pisco. The grilled calamari and octopus was top notch, Lomo Saltado cooked perfectly to our request, and closing it out with mini ice cream cones and warm donuts is a necessity.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat night out at RaymiRaymi had great energy, great vibe, great decor, great service and most importsnt great food. We had never had Peruvian before and it was incredibly good - interesting spices, but not overwhelming. Service was excellent - always there, but not on you of you either; very friendly. Highly recomended.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMAn incredible findAbsolutely fantastic. We were so impressed by this incredible gem. The food and ambiance were superb and the service was unusually outstanding. As world-traveled foodies and long-time NYers, we are tough to impress but we left saying that it was the warmest, most personal service we had received in NYC in all our time here. We will definitely be back -- and soon.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMAbsolutely wonderful experience,Absolutely wonderful experience, Our meal was fantastic and our service was top notch. But, really it is hard to pick the best part. Everything was great.
So often restaurants owned/run by famous chefs are a disappointment, but not this one. The restaurant has a grown-up,warm vibe, despite being in the quiet Chelsea.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat take on Peruvian cuisineThe food was very good. The service exceptional. There was a slight misunderstanding with regards to our appetizer order but the staff was generous enough to offer us a complimentary appetizer as well as a complimentary drink. Both of which was as good as the rest of the food.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was very good...civichesThe food was very good...civiches was outstanding. Our server was exceptionally good...she was thoroughly knowledgeable about the ingredients and preparation of each dish, unobtrusive and just plain nice.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMVisiting from San FranciscoWe were visiting from San Francisco and Raymi was recommended to us from a friend who highly regards Peruvian Cuisine. We were not disappointed.
If I live in New York, I would be there at least once a month.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMSUNDAY SUPPERI went to have dinner at Raymi this Sunday for "Sunday supper" and the experience was fascinating ... Dinner was delicious ...! our waiter was very polite and knowledgeable about all the items on the menu. The food was in a reasonable time, the portions were generous even acceptable prices (cost of $ 38 for all 5 courses). There is a very nice family atmosphere even with several families with small children (4 pm)will not be disturbing the environment. Sure that I will return and I will recommend Raymi for Sunday family dinner .....3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMI went to dinner on "SundayI went to dinner on "Sunday Supper" Raymi and had a unique experience ...
my boyfriend who is American and had never tried Peruvian food could not believe this was so delicious. . tried a ceviche as the best place in Peru and the "Jalea"_ .... and had the _lomo saltado_ and the whole fried fish with a yellow pepper sauce was all original and reminded me of my grandparents, my mother and all my family that prepares these delicious dishes .... I will definitely return with my family as soon as possible .... with dessert I wanted to jumping and screaming , what incredible dessert ... A reasonable price for a highly rated restaurant and outstanding.

I always try to go there when I visit. Great Modern Peruvian cuisine with Asian overtones. Make sure you try one of the cerveches.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic food and the chefFantastic food and the chef was helpful. He greeted us and made specialties for us. I plan on going back next week.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMBest meal we had in our 4Best meal we had in our 4 day stay in NY. Our server was amazing and very attentive - all of his recommendations were great (Salmon Ceviche and Corn Cake with wild Mushrooms were standouts). Wine list was small but concise.
Would highly recommend.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMInitially I went with an UrbanInitially I went with an Urban Daddy voucher. Loved it so much, I took some girlfriends and went back a second time. The food does not disappoint. Service was AWESOME. We had the best person, very patient, gave us great wine recommendations. Just absolutely awesome. I think my only complaint was the pisco sour. None of us liked the recipe they used. But that's ok, we switched to wine and were perfectly content.
The space is absolutely beautiful. My cousin took picture of the bar shelves and lightning since she absolutely loved them.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat PlaceThis was an exception restaurant with great decor, service and food options. I had a great time here with my girlfriend. The floor manager, Sigi, was amazing and helpful as was our waitress. Highly recommend this place and its chic and cool environment.3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMFriendly, attentive service,Friendly, attentive service, great atmosphere. We were very pleased with our experience at Raymi and will be back with friends. The Chef extended personal attention and accommodated our request for a side dish of tacu tacu which was not on the menu for the dishes we selected. Our appetizers - Tamal Verde with pork shoulder, and Croquettes were delicious and prepared to perfection - succulent pork shoulder, artfully light croquettes. All ingredients were fresh and all flavors distinct and crisp. The ARROZ CON MARISCOS was a winner as was the Steak Imperial Our Pisco Sours were on the warm side though. Still we are looking forward to sharing "Sunday supper", served family style, with friends.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a great early dinner beforeHad a great early dinner before a sporting event at MSG. Service was impeccable. Manager spent some time with us explaining the menu. Ceviche, pork belly and halibut were all well executed. We plan to return.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMAn excelent restaurant for specialFor sure Raymi is a excelent restaurant for special ocassion
Elegant place and pleasant atmosphere both in the pre-dinner lounge by the bar and the restaurant itself.
I proposed to my family and they prepared a special table and provided us an unique service. The staff is very attentive, friendly and helpfull.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat find for a pisco sourGreat find for a pisco sour lover, the ceviche is fantastic not only is it delicious but presentation is delightful as well.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMA fantastic find! It's early in the year but this will probably be my best restaurant experience in 2013. I can't imagine a more wonderful combination of tantalizing cuisine so expertly executed and a degree of concern and attentiveness by the staff that results from great people believing in what they do. We were a group of six and we were all raving about it then and still now.
The drinks were delicious, pisco is where it's at!
The food is attentively conceived, the dishes expertly executed and beautifully presented as the objects of art that they are. Their taste transports you to heaven from starters to dessert. The service was outstanding (Yitzel) showered us with her care and had the sweet candor that cannot be taught or bought.3/1/2013 12:00:00 AMI went with a group of friends.I went with a group of friends. The food was terrific and unusual. We had an outstanding server who walked us through the options in both food and drink (huge selection of pisco). The owner stopped by and chatted. We felt very well taken care of. We'll be back!2/9/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic experienceThis is one of those restaurants that tries very hard to make you feel extra special, and it works. I would suggest sharing 3-4 appetizers in a party of 4 so you can get the feel of the food, and then each person order their own entree. Our friends who ordered the chicken for 2 loved it and I loved the salmon nikkei which was perfectly cooked.
This space has had a few incarnations (Sapa, Nuela), maybe due to the quiet street which doesn't get some easy foot traffic, so I hope everyone can support Raymi so they can make it last!1/6/2013 12:00:00 AM
