Diner Reviews
  • "Since we were away from home for Easter weekend, we were looking for some place a little bit special for our Easter dinner and the Ravine Vineyard Restaurant did the trick. We had a lovely meal overlooking the vineyards."

  • "Second time dining at Ravine and again it did not disappoint. Charcuterie was fabulous paired with the Rose; burgers prepared perfectly; fish and chips very tasty. Service was impeccable. Will definitely return."

  • "Went here to celebrate a birthday. The UK could learn from the customer service here - never felt rushed and the food they serve was delicious. I just went for the Burger - it was great"

  • "We did a wine tour and had a wine tasting before dining and the experience was great already. The staff (Dan) was extremely friendly and have us a comprehensive 101 on wine tasting and gave thorough answer to all our amateur questions. The dining venue was simple, cozy and relaxing. Staff was friendly as well and the food was amazing. We ordered the duck confit and the steak and they are both out of this world. I'm not a food critic so I cannot write out how perfect they were but THEY WERE DELICIOUS! the dessert did not disappoint either, we had the pistachio cheesecake and it was so good I wish I could buy the whole cake home. Love the restaurant so much and I would definitely visit again!"

  • "We were very pleased with our dining experience here. The food was amazing. The Charcuterie appetizers were the out-of-this-world. They were recommended by staff and we were so glad that we ordered this ... we would have bypassed it, if it were not for the recommendation! The service was top-notch. Our servers were very attentive and extremely professional. This seems to be a rarity amongst most dining establishments. We will definitely come back for a special occasion!"

  • "Excellent food with outstanding services. It is a good pick after you finish your tour at Niagara on the lake town. It also offers patio seating, which allow us to enjoy the sunshine while enjoying the food and wine. The food menus is seasonal that gives me different dining experience every time I come. "

  • "After initial reservation for 4, I had to call to determine whether they could accommodate 6. Riley was very accommodating and was able to handle the increased number on less than a day's notice. The wait staff service was less than ideal, albeit the young lady working our table was very outgoing, follow through could have been better. Of the 6 meals ordered, 2 orders of fish and chips, did not meet expectations. The other 4, one steak, three lamb shank were very good. It was very difficult to have a table conversation, while the entertainer was performing. We have enjoyed the patio in the past for casual dining. The dining room, when they have entertainment, is not ideal for quiet meal and conversation. "

  • "The ambiance of the restaurant - cozy, relaxed, friendly waiters, great service... The food and wine were excellent. I'll definitely be returning Ravine."

  • "Had a fantastic lunch experience and the view was simply amazing. Food and service were excellent with good proportions. Best part was the wine, menu had suggested pairings. Add the wine tour at the adjoining building with tasting at the end and it made the most memorable visit to Niagara yet. Looking forward to visiting again in the summer when the vineyard is in full bloom full of colour!"

  • "For my husband's birthday, we thoroughly enjoyed lunch at The Ravine. Friendly staff, timely service, bright cheerful ambiance (even on a cloudy day) prepared us for the lovely meal. The mushroom soup with biscuit were a burst of flavour, the green salad with parmigiano reggiano bright and satisfying, the trout was perfectly prepared sitting on a round of bread pudding, and the buttermik chicken crisp on the outside with melt-in-your mouth inside with the best bean salad I've ever had! The delicious meal was nicely accompanied by crisp, dry white wine. Will return."

  • "The food was fantastic and service was great! I would go back in a minute. The staff were able to coordinate getting our brunch order in quickly so that we could make it to their "fun food pairing" after brunch. The food was fantastic and we had a great view of the vineyard. The fun food pairing was well done too. We tried different snack foods like chips and chocolate and sampled multiple wines to see which ones we thought matched best! Great idea!"

  • "We were in Niagara for a day and wanted a nice place for dinner, so I found Ravine Vineyard on TripAdvisor. It was well rated and we were not disappointed. The only problem we had was it was very, very quiet, which is understandable in March. We ended up being the only people in the restaurant for most of our meal, but it was delicious, and the service was very good. We were able to try some of the vineyards wines with dinner and purchase bottles at the vineyard price."

  • "Our friend turned 50 in mid-March and we decided to take her for a spa weekend. For the 'special birthday celebration' dinner,, we picked Ravine. We were not disappointed! We ordered a couple of share appetizers - oh my goodness - the trout pate - fabulous; chicken pate with clarified butter - wonderful. Our main courses were great. Lamb shank with lentils and stuffed Cornish hen. The restaurant was quiet but we had VIP service; Tina, our waitress was attentive but not overbearing. Entertainment all to ourselves. At the end of the evening, we toured the kitchen / facilities below - clean and they had a private area with barrels and a cantina where one could host a private intimate party. We will go again, next time in NOL."

  • "We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and wine at Ravine Vineyard. We had brunch, but I would go back for dinner based on our recent experience."

  • "My husband and I visited Ravine with last minute reservations and were pleased we were able to get a table. Our meal was absolutely delicious! My husband had the Baby Romaine Salad and the Whitefish, I had the Trout Rillette and the Ravioli. We both enjoyed our dishes as they were very flavourful and beautifully presented. The wine we chose for each of our dishes were paired well as per suggested by the menu. We ended our meal with a cheesecake dessert that was not too rich but a good sweet ending. That evening there was live music -- a gentleman singing with an acoustic guitar. It brought the ambience a bit lively but not too intrusive. The service was what I expected -- warm and welcoming and checking in with us once in awhile."

  • "We've loved Ravine wine for a while, and so we were excited to go there as part of Fabulicious. It lived up to our expectations 100%! Excellent food and we even got to drink some classic Ravine wine we hadn't tried before. And the service was excellent - super knowledgeable and very pleasant! We'll go back for sure!"

  • "The food was totally excellent, as were the servers. However, it was overly expensive (we all thought) and I was slightly offended at having to pay more than twice the cost of a bottle of wine that I was able to buy just steps away at their retail shop. We also went there for the "Days of wine and chocolate" and while the triple layer cake was to die for (the best I've had), their ice wine sample was the chintziest one out of all the wineries we went to 28 of them). What's with that! Are they showcasing their food, or their wine? It doesn't appear to be both."

  • "My husband & I decided to try the Fabulicious lunch at Ravine. It was a set course which you could complement with wine selections. I started w/the liver parfait, followed by trout and chocolate caramel pie. Everything was delicious! I raved about the liver parfait (pate) & asked if it was avail. in the store. Our server (sorry, can't remember her name) said it wasn't but would see if the chef had some avail. for sale. He did & we bought it. We had it with the fresh baguette we bought in the store, later that night, which only extended the pleasure and satisfaction we felt with our lunch. WELL DONE, RAVINE!"

  • "My husband and I loved our night out with excellent food, great service and wonderful wine. The only negative was they were out of many after dinner drinks options (scotch, port etc)."

  • "Went here for dinner on Feb 15th, the service was great and far away from Niagara tourist area (10-15mins drive). There was a musician playing in the lounge and they tastefully decorated the place for the Valentines theme. This really set a great overall ambiance in the restaurant. We had the charcuterie board (excellent), duck leg and rib eye (pretty good). The portions are a good size for the price and it's the kind of food you would expect from a vineyard restaurant. The dining room has floor to ceiling windows and we can only imagine how beautiful the scenery would be during the summer months! Too bad it was dark and winter. Would definitely go to this restaurant again during lunch in the summer."

  • "We visited this restaurant on a Sunday evening in early February. It was quiet -- only three tables. Still, the food was fantastic and the lamb was packing tons of flavour. Definitely recommended as a place to visit in NOTL. The only thing we didn't enjoy was getting lost, as the restaurant is located at this address in St. David's, Ontario -- not Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. That's somebody's house. If you're relying on the GPS to guide you, make sure you've got the right town!"

  • "The view of the snow covered vineyards made the inside of the restaurant feel even more cozy for our reunion lunch. The roasted root vegetable soup was a hit with it's rich, smooth texture and depth of flavour. The mussels came nice and hot, with a subtly herbed broth. I wanted to soak up every drop with the artisanal bread that accompanied our meal. The service was warm and attentive. Our party of five all enjoyed their selections ( a salad for the lady, hearty gourmet style burgers for two of the men, and trout for another). We would definitely like to try the dinner menu the next time we're visiting the area."

  • "These people are really into neat food concepts . Their own bread , wine , meat , vegetables , and a general store selling their brands plus gourmet items . In the summer it would be outdoors spectacular . Quite out of the way , but convenient once you find it . The food was excellent , basic with an upscale twist . Beet cake , like carrot cake but beets for example . We will take our children , and grandchildren, here for special occasions"
