  • "Again we took my 93 year old Mother in law to Ravine and she had a wonderful time, especially since the young lady who served us the first time we went remembered her. That totally completed her day. She lives in a retirement home and doesn't get out much, so this treat for her made her year. Of course the little wine tasting after lunch didn't hurt either!!! Thank you Ravine."

  • "We were disappointed in the food and service. The 4 of us shared the charcuterie platter. It featured a variety of cured meats, quail egg, pate and nuts. There were 3 pieces of toasted bread on the platter. I thought they could have given us 4, since there were 4 people. I had the heirloom tomato salad. It was good, but there were miniscule spots of pesto and balsamic reduction on the plate. I wanted more of that to dip the tomatoes in! 3 of us had the blackened pickerel. The spice was way too salty, and there was way too much of it!! Could hardly taste the fish! My friend had the lamb, and it was too tough to finish. We planned to order dessert, but the waiter took so long to come back for our order that we decided not to. View was nice"

  • "Reservations a must. Dined at a wonderful table outside with a view of the vineyard. Shared the brick oven pizza which offered a unique sweetness and smokiness. Luckily we decided to share the strawberry cobbler with buttermilk ice cream and ginger cookes for dessert. The warmth of the strawberries with pistachio topping intermingled with buttermilk was a joy to the taste buds. Dont overlook on the menu. The service was relaxed and attentive. Overall a perfect afternoon in the vineyard to enjoy a glass of wine and the natural beauty of the escarpment."

  • "Our second visit and it won't be our last. We visit Niagara - a 4-5 hour trip - once or twice a year and though there are plenty of awesome restaurants to choose from, we knew we had to return, and will again. Casual, relaxed atmosphere in a lovely location overlooking Ravine's vineyards. Service is friendly, but professional. All food and wine produced either on site or close by. The menu is varied, imaginative and takes advantage of the fresh bounty available. Ravine has a bakery, produces its' own pork for - wonderful charcuterie board! - and boasts a wood fire oven for fresh, thin crust pizza. I have not been disappointed with anything I've ordered here, and the wines are very good too!"

  • "We had an outstanding evening: From the wine tasting to dinner. We were given a table at the window overlooking the vineyard. Our server was very pleasant and attentive and our appetizers and dinner (main meal) were just so good. Only one of us had dessert which was the only disappointing note.."

  • "Most welcoming entrance to a restaurant one could hope for. Walking up the steps a young man opened the door to greet us. Inside the restaurant, a young friendly hostess took our reservation details and brought us to seating to await our table and gave us menus to look at. After just a few minutes we were seated. Slight delay in taking our drink order by otherwise excellent service from the server. Restaurant was full but not overtly loud. Its 3 walls are glass so you get a nice view of the gardens/vineyard. Rather sparse otherwise so at nightfall there is little ambiance. Our starters were the foie gras and a scallop/bacon dish. Superb. Mains we both had the lamb sirloin; dessert was strawberry pistacchio cobbler. Super in every way"

  • "The food was excellent, the service could have been more attentive. At a winery you expect that a wine glass shouldn't sit empty for very long and my husband's did. Otherwise everything else was fantastic from the bread to my scallops (amazing) Cornish hen and nut strawberry infused dessert it was all delicious."

  • "We were there for dinner and it was way too loud. Our table was in a area of high traffic and a band was playing way too loud for us to carrry on a conversation. We asked to be moved and they were not able to accommodate. Would not reccomend."

  • "The chefs have created an innovative and very tasty menu at Ravine Vineyards, the blue cheese bread pudding with lamb sirloin was an unexpected taste combination that really worked well. The charcuterie board, which is much discussed in reviews and photographed is worthy of the attention and praise, prepared, smoked and aged in house it was an exquisite blend of taste, texture and colours. As a winery, the wine list is a selection of their products, and the 2011 Reserve Cabernet Franc was a great pair with charcuterie and the lamb sirloin. All of this in a rustic ranch environment on the edge of the vineyards with indoor and outdoor seating and a large outdoor bar. We went as a family, but this is great for couples or groups."

  • "We've now been going to Ravine's dining room for over two years, and have enjoyed every experience and meal. I've enjoyed the duck confit several times (I keep saying that it's better than I've had in France). It's typically served with lentils, and the chef has created a new preparation with lentils that's more delicious than before. Kim had the blackened pickerel, which was also fresh, flavourful and beautifully presented. We started with the very local (much made on the premises) charcuterie plate and finished by sharing the Strawberry Pistachio Cobbler with buttermilk ice cream. We enjoyed every bite."

  • "My girlfriend and I were heading to Niagara Falls for the day to visit a vineyard. Ravine Vineyard came up in her search and when she showed me the menu, I immediately made a reservation. What a view! I had the trout for lunch, which was sitting on top of a kidney bean and lobster salad. It was an excellent combination. I did wish the trout was cooked a little less. The trio of desserts showcased the plums extremely well. We both enjoyed every single one of them. I just wished the flies stayed away from us!"

  • "Restaurant trying to be top end restaurant but if you've ate at any half decent top end restaurants you'll be disappointed. Food was not that good especially for the price you're paying. I had ribeye which was stiff and outside cooked too much although it was cooked medium rare inside. My wife had the pickerel which was not too bad. The suggested charcuterie was just not good...a few items ok but took 45 min-although they topped up with wine to make up. They offer Ravine wines which for the most part is better than most Niagara wines but Cabernet was still very young to serve. Overall very disappointed. Won't go back and won't recommend. One should expect better for the price you're paying. Truthfully a disappointment"

  • "We were a group of 4 people who dined at Ravine Vineyard restaurant in August 2014. We had complimentary wine tasting at the winery while waiting for our table. The location is great, beside the vineyard, we had a table outside. The food was excellent. We had the blackened pickerel, the steak and the lamb, everything was perfect. The wine prices are very reasonable, $10 over the winery prices. Service was efficient, friendly and smiling. We decided we had to return,which we did the day after. We had the duck and the scallops which were again perfect. The second night we had a live singer in addition to the sunset on the vineyard. Prices are very reasonable for that quality of food. We will return again when we go back to NOTL."

  • "This was our first visit to Ravine. We arrived having read favourable reviews but we were extremely impressed with the level of dedication and excellence the restaurant (and winery) made. So much of the food was actually farmed on the property. This is the way any responsible restaurant should do (if geographically feasible).   • "We were really looking forward to our lunch at Ravine as it came highly recommended. However, our party of 6 was very disappointed. While the atmosphere was terrific, gorgeous sunny day, great view -- the food was mediocre and incredibly over-priced. Over-cooked trout, tiny soup portion, fries were good, but for $300 why would you expect good? (sarcasm). If we go back it will be only to enjoy the atmosphere and to share a pizza.."

  • "We ordered the hamburger which was very tasty. It came with fries and some standard coleslaw and was quite a large amount of food. We also had the "Heirloom" tomato salad. I have never seen or tasted such a bland tomato and suspect they are more "Grocery Store" tomato than Heirloom. The asparagus soup was pleasant although very small proportioned and the accompanying muffin should be described as 'mini'. The pizza special was described as having zucchini on it. When it arrived the zucchini pieces were almost non-existent being about the size of a tiny flower petal. The wine on the other hand, a Sand and Gravel Chardonnay, was very pleasant. I wouldn't recommend eating here but the winery is a nice destination."

  • "In reading the reviews for Ravine, I was really looking forward to dining at this "top winery restaurant". The ambience was a more casual than expected, but not a big deal. I like eating in hole in the walls. Very dark; could barely read our menus! The charcuterie board was good; would have liked more cured meat and less other stuff. The zuccini soup we thought tasted more like asparagus and a bit bland. I don't usually salt my food and I had to ask for salt to bring out more flavour. I had the cornish hen and my friend had blackened fish. Interesting that the fish did not have a starch - just over a bed of veggies. My hen was ok, a little on the dry side. The bad thing was the goat cheese."

  • "I have now been to the Ravine restaurant six times in the past year and everytime has been a better experience than the last. From their delicious wines to the ever changing menu, the Ravine has become one of my favorites for any occasion. The service is prompt and friendly, the view of the vineyard and the ambiance of the beautiful restaurant really give the sense of a whole new experience. I recommend this restaurant to everyone I meet and I cannot wait to come back again!"

  • "This place was fantastic. A calming rustic atmosphere, lovely patio, very romantic, lovely wines, incredible food, organic veggies and locally sourced foods. Everything we ordered was amazing. Two minor cons - the chairs were a touch uncomfortable, hubs said the chairs were a bit small too.. and the bugs on the patio got a bit bad so we had to have our desert inside. Easily fixed and the indoor atmosphere was just as lovely. Decor was really nice too!!"

  • "My reservation was 1pm. Upon arrival at 1pm I was told by the hostess that our table wasn't ready...what? Isn't that why one makes a reservation? We were told that we could enjoy a complimentary tasting at the wine bar (everyone is offered this when a meal is reserved so nothing special). At approximately 1:25pm we walked back into the restaurant (did not want a tasting) and were told our table was ready. Our waitress said hi and left. 15 minutes later she returned to take our order. We were not offered water. I had to ask another waitress for water. I waited another 10 minutes for my wine. The first course arrived 15 minutes after being ordered. The service was absolutely unacceptable and we were offered nothing to compensate."

What a great evening. We started with a fun wine tasting and ended with a delicious dinner at the restaurant (reservations a must). The Charcuterie board was perfect for sharing with 4 people and was one of the nicest we've had. My 3 fellow diners had steak and I had the Cornish Hen ... again, lovely. The service was great. Beautiful views overlooking the vineyard. I can tell that great care goes into the planning and execution of every detail. Looking forward to a visit in the Fall."

The menu features selected items and is not extensive. Our dinners were all well prepared and enjoyable. The wine produced at Ravine was quite good with a number of varietals.   • "Chose this restaurant because I am familiar with Gidleigh Park, one of the places where the chef trained in England. Pleased to say that this meal lived up to Gidleigh Park's reputation. Excellent food beautifully presented, especially the charcuterie appetizer. Loved the blue cheese bread pudding with the lamb sirloin. Noise level was too high for private conversation after a large party arrived. Dining early is a good option!"
