Rathbun's Blue Plate KitchenI believe that the place wasI believe that the place was cute and the food was good.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMThe blue plate team is likeThe blue plate team is like a well oiled machine. Try make you feel like part of the family and the food is absolutely amazing. From the best mussels I've ever had to shrimp and grits that rivals any low country reataurant, you cannot go wrong.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious Spectrum of FlavorsRathbun's Blue Plate Grill provided my Family with a brilliant dining experience this week. The Staff was professional, attentive, & Friendly. The Chef prepared wonderful dishes that yielded a complex spectrum of flavors. The Bartender mixed some great cocktails too. Copper River Salmon was grilled, prepared perfectly pink & med-rare, and with a melt-in-your-mouth, buttery rich taste. It was served over oriental style stir fried vegetables which complimented the Salmon nicely with notes of Soy, Ginger, Rice-Wine, Garlic, & Sesame. Duck Confit Flatbread had combination of sweet, salty, citrus which highlighted the rich duck flavors. Highly recommended dining!5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMexcellentExcellent food for brunch. Was greatly impressed with the food quality. Made eggs and potatoes stand out like I have never had before. My wifes fried chicken was very very food. Excellent place will try for dinner next.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMA Nice Dining ExperienceMy husband and I went to dinner at Blue Plate for the very first time this weekend. His grandmother and aunt were in town and we wanted to go someplace known for good food and drinks. The service here was really great. Our server, though a little akward, was very attentive and did a couple of small things that made our dining experience really enjoyable. The food overall was really delicious. We ordered the cheesy bread and fried green tomatoes for an appetizer. Two people ordered the fried chicken and the third ordered shrimp and grits. They were all really happy with their food (mashed potatoes and grits were amazing). I ordered the Alaskan salmon which was really delicious, however, the veggie stir fry that came with it was way too salty5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMReliable Food and Good wine listCome here for local cuisine. The ahi tuna tartar is served on a cucumber slice topped with a slice of jalapeño. The pork tenderloin was excellent. We had a Copain chardonnay which was excellent. Wait staff were great!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food yet againAnother wonderful meal at Rathbun's Blue Plate Kitchen. Food and service were fabulous as usual. I will keep coming back especially as the menu changes frequently
Strongly recommended5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMHad an office birthday lunchHad an office birthday lunch there, was wonderful as always.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMGood Taste, But Small ServingsWhile the food taste excellent, I was a little underwhelmed by the serving size for the price. The shrimp and grits included only three shrimp, while the duck breast entree was about a quarter of a duck breast. I expected a little more for what we paid.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe loved this place. wishWe loved this place. wish we would of found it earlier...4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMLove the Food. It is homeLove the Food. It is home comfort done in beautiful gourmet. The open kitchen is wonderful to see and the noise is not loud. Ambiance is very well spaced and pleasant. Staff was helpful and really helped round out the wonderful experience.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMSHRIMP AND GRITS ARE BACK!!!!!SHRIMP AND GRITS ARE BACK!!!!! Chef Jennifer has changed up this item from last season and it is still phenomenal. Better than the Low Country.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMA great place no matter the reasonA very cool place, this was my third visit, once for a work meeting, once with my wife, and now with wife and her parents. An excellent menu, the blue plate special is always good. The pimento cheese with pumpernickel is outstanding. This is a great place no matter the reason, from a business dinner of people in suits, or when I was there there were two women in yoga pants, the atmosphere can fit anything. The chef came over to the table to check on our meal. And I especially recommend Texas Tuesdays, with 50% off Texas wine, and cheap Texas draughts and vodka drinks.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMInnovative and deliciousThis was my first dinner experience, although I have been to Rathbuns' for lunch several times. We were met at the door and seated immediately. The atomosphere was lively and modern yet cozy. Our server was friendly and knowledgable. Drink orders were promptly taken and delivered. There was a little trouble getting a glass of wine ordered. The appetizers were superb. Taste and presentation was four star. I choose one of the entre specials, grilled halibut. It was solid and tasty. My companion had the interesting duck and scallop combo. The scallops were as promised, large quality scallops perfectly cooked. The duck good. Rathbuns is on my return list. Innovative and delicious, lunch or dinner.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful ExperienceFirst visit to this restaurant and had a great dining experience. Tim, our host, was polite and friendly. He made our visit enjoyable and we'll be back again.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat lunch sitting at theGreat lunch sitting at the Chef's table. Service was certainly efficient but not friendly at all which is unusual compared to past visits. It was a busy Friday lunch hour so maybe that was the issue.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Service and FoodMy wife and I stopped by here for an early dinner (5:00 PM) before going to a Stars game. At that time the whole place was quite quiet, with probably 8 people at the bar and maybe 2 other tables. Our waitress (Angie) was attentive to every need. We had the hummus to start, which was delicious with lightly cripsed pitas, and the table breads with an excellent mandarin orange infused butter. I had the duck with scallops and pea risotto, and my wife had the pork belly with Israeli couscous. Both were excellent. Cooked properly, and served within 12 minutes or so. We split a creme brulee for desert, and it was one of the best I've ever tasted. Chef Rathbun even came by the table... a nice touch. We'd go back again.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place to dine with friends.Great place to dine with friends. Noise level is manageable so you can carry on conversation. The food is very good with a variety of choices. Fresh and prepared with great imagination.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of my favorite restaurants...foOne of my favorite restaurants...food is always unique, consistently good, and as an added bonus offers tasty heart healthy plates...especially love the hummus plate nad tuna tartar...cocktails are well done...service impeccable...highly recommend either for special occasions or just a night out3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMA Rainbow of Delicious FlavorsRATHBUN's Blue Plate Kitchen provided me & my Family with a brilliant dining experience! The cuisine was delicious, yielding an inspired, complex spectrum of flavors. The service was professional & attentive. From the Duck Confit Flatbread, to the Lobster/Shrimp/Crab Cole-Slaw, to the grilled Hawaiian Butterfish with Stir-Fried Veggies, to the savory Foie Gras bread pudding, to the hot Apple Pie with Henry's Cinnamon Ice Cream, we enjoyed a wonderful meal!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWorks all the way aroundThe food and service is always so good - and it looks so good too.
Best thing about having lunch at Blue Plate - you can have a conversation with the folks at your table. The acoustics make this a perfect working / business lunch or so sweet for just spending lunch time with someone special.
I can make reservations and know that all is well for lunch.
Thank you!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding food. SuperiorOutstanding food. Superior service. The sweet tea vodka drink was out of this world. Cauliflower soup was fantastic, the pork chop was huge. It is loud in the restaurant so if your the parent going out for a special occasion with a group it is perfect. Feels like down home southern cooking kicked up about 10. It is a little difficult to find but I would so go back.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
