  • "My husband and I went here on Friday night and we were really not impressed. I have been here a couple times for work lunches and holiday parties so I expected better. The service was good but almost too attentive and when it came to paying the bill the waiters disappeared. The food was okay but not great and did not warrant the prices they charge. The steak was very fatty and not worth $59-for that price I rather go to Burton and Doyle or Bryant and Cooper and get a real quality cut of meat. My sushi was fairly good and the calamari/shrimp appetizer tasted like it came from a chain like Applebee's. The decor and ambiance is beautiful however and the bar scene seemed nice for those who enjoy that. I don't think we will be returning."

  • "I always see everyone complaining about the prices of this restaurant, you're not just paying for the food you're paying for the entire experience. The decor of the place is jaw dropping, the service was unlike anything I've ever had. They were the most polite and fun servers I've ever had. LOVE Christian and Alex. The food and sushi we ordered was unbelievable, I can't wait to go back and try more. The ONLY con was the cigar smoking idiots outside, you can't enter or leave without walking through it."

  • "As we've come to expect from the Scotto Restaurant "Chain?" the food was very good and the ambiance is in keeping with the times. The sterile and new feeling of the place is something that I personally don't enjoy, but understand that many people do. The menu was very interesting and cooked to perfection. The drink options were plentiful and the service was outstanding. As a sum total of all of those things, the bill was consistent (read: expensive.) If you are in the area and don't mind parting with a Franklin for dinner, this is a very nice spot. It is, however, very indistinguishable from all the other modern restaurants that are within the class (Jewel, Blackstone, Insignia, etc.) Happy Dining!"

  • "We were given a gift card to this restaurant, which is the main reason we went there. it is quite overpriced and the food in nothing outstanding or unusual. Our main server was not at all warm or friendly and seemed bothered when we asked to hear the specials again. The noise level was bordering on the loud range and we we just were not happy with the whole experience. it is not a place we will recommend or revisit to dine."

  • "So I came here with a group of people.Ordering wine was an interesting experience, The menu had indicated a 2010, but the waitress brought over a 2011. The manager had spoken with us and said they were out of the 2010 and had not offered a replacement, simply said this is what we have now. The waitress had some issues opening the wine... She had broke the cork and instead of bringing a new bottle she just proceeded to finish opening that one. For a 'Fine' Steakhouse, I think this sort of behavior/service is unacceptable. The food was okay, nothing too crazy. I've had better steaks at J.R. Steakhouse. Overall, if you're looking for a great steakhouse experience, this is not the place to go."

  • "My fiancé and I had such a wonderful meal at Rare650, that we booked our engagement party for this coming summer. The food was delicious - he had steak and I had the scallops. The sushi was fresh and delicious, and the creamed spinach and truffle Mac and cheese were great! Also, the wine list was very impressive and I had a delicious Riesling. The service was exceptional, and very knowledge and accommodating. I would recommend for any great meal or special occasion, as it was on the pricey side but completely worth every penny! The restaurant itself was also gorgeous, as was the outside seating area."

  • "I've been to this local restaurant a lot, and it used to be a "favorite" but no more. My husband ordered a filet mignon. We had our entrees delivered, and the sides were served by the wait staff. My husband cut into his "medium rare" steak and it was closer to medium well. Even the wait staff realize there was a problem and took the entire plate back, sides and all. When the replacement came, it was closer to rare than medium rare, but edible... except that there were no sides! The manager came over but his apology was more obnoxious that nice, and the bill didn't compensate for the sides that had been thrown out never to be eaten. My husband and I ate in shifts because my food was hot, and what else could I do. Not handled well."

  • "i love rare and go often. i would never write a bad review but i took a client tuesday night. everything is usually good there except tonight they were out of bone in filet and the wine that i ordered. they were out of the fish special for my client also. what happened to the assorted bread basket, they brought a few slices of regular bread..am i missing something? i know 1 bad shouldnt overtake 10 goods but just figured you would want to know..i'm still coming back !"

Our busboy was beyond annoying - he didn't even give us an opportunity to put our fork down and he was clearing the table - at one point he was actually lingering by our table waiting for us to finish!   • "The Scotto's know how to do it right. Very similar to their other place, Blackstone's but this is more of a nightlife scene. Went on a Thursday with a group of 6 the head waiter was somewhat knowledgeable. When I asked a specific question in regard to a steak all he did was give me the definition of what that cut of meat was until then after he repeated the definition he figured out what I was asking and addressed it somewhat. He knew enough to pass the test but not enough to use the information practically! Other than the fact that I had no fork when my entree hit, it was a great experience. All said and done, I would go back, the food was worth it. I would suggest sitting before 7 if you want the noise level to be acceptable."
