  • "I go to Rare often on a Thursday night with friends to have drinks and dance. Last night we decided to reserve a table and have dinner. Both the food and service was impeccable! I would not recommend dinner here if you are looking for a quite dinner date. Conversations were hard to have over the pumping DJ. I am not sure if there is a DJ every night. I would go back to have dinner there just not on a Thursay. I will stick to drinks and dancing on Thursday. The staff was friendly and eager to please as always!"

  • "I am a BIG Morton's fan but Rare650 did not disappoint. Morton's still gets the edge on Apps, Sides and Desserts but the Steak at Rare650 was fantastic and cooked to perfection. Had the NY Strip and it was right on par with the other top Steakhouses. And we also took advantage of the Wine Down Mondays. Perfect evening. Thank you."

  • "Excellent food and service in a nicely done space. The colossal shrimp were, well....colossally delicious and the drinks were as good as they were pricey. Tables were set rather close and hearing your neighbor's conversation was inevitable, if not unfortunate. I will definitely go back and ask to be seated somewhere different and I will order the calamari and shrimp appetizer."

  • "the place is beautiful but food and drinks were lousy and way overpriced. Started with lousy drinks from the bar. Of our appetizers- the sushi was fair and we ordered an app of kobe beef sliders medium rare which came out well done and tasteless. we informed the waitress who simply said sorry. My husband ordered the petite filet mignon which was 42 dollars and came with nothing. H asked for that medium rare and also came out extremely well done. We did tell the waitress who called over the manager and they cooked him another steak and took the appetizer we didnt like off the bill. Overall though not at all worth the prices they charged."

  • "Returning for a few special occasions and had another great meal. The service was once again top notch and the food excellent as expected. We ate out on the outside terrace. It is a very nice spot just off the bar. And while at the start of dinner, all was quiet, a bit later, the bar and the DJ kicked in and it became very loud when the doors opened. I applaud the staff for trying to keep the doors closed as staff came in and out, but it did become distracting so keep that in mind if you are dining late and seated on the terrace. Upstairs is still the best place."

  • "At Rare, I expected perfection. We got very good. We arrived early on a quiet weekday for a birthday dinner & the wait-staff was 4 per table. Here, dinner should be perfect, yet the flaws were evident. The Mozzarella Buratta Salad w/ Bacon was excellent, but the Buratta wasn't quite creamy inside & the bacon underdone. The Uni, presented beautifully, rich & creamy, but so cold the ice crystals had to melt in my mouth before I could taste them. My Stuffed Shrimp were a bit overdone, but the Scampi & stuffing were outstanding, & the Truffle Mac/Cheese was delicious, but lacked Truffle. The Scallops w Truffle Risotto were very good. Dessert was perfect, & appropriately served with a discreet candle and happy birthday chocolate, no singing! "

  • "We were seated outside without the hostess asking us whether we were ok to sit outside, there was a very large group next to us, they were very loud and the idea of having a quite dinner was out the window....the waiter was stuffing his face with food and the service was not good at all, food came out late, no one refilled our glasses. I will personally never go to rare650 again. I have been to insignia and blackstone a bunch of times and they are way better in service, even though it's the same owners."

  • "I was skeptical even though it's not our first time there, I read all the recent reviews and was expecting that it could have been unpleasant. It was a great meal actually. Very expensive though, an appetizer was quoted at $48 but was $52 on the dining check. We didn't bother with a dispute. The sirloin for one was $75! That's a ton of money for one steak, although it was over one pound cooked, but still. The filet mignon was done to my liking and fork tender, desserts were as advertised, rich and sweet. The coffee is perfection for coffee lovers, individual french press for each. But if you mix steak, booze and single men, you get a lot of noise. That's not just here it's every steak house. Be prepared."
