A word from Rao's - Caesars Palace Las Vegas
The home-cooked meals at Rao’s Las Vegas are magnificent culinary experiences worthy of the Review-Journal’s multiple “Best Las Vegas Italian Restaurant” awards. The time-honored dishes include perfectly cooked pastas, risottos and the mouthwatering steak bistecca; cooked perfectly and sliced tableside. Rao’s Las Vegas Italian restaurant also serves the incomparable Uncle Vincent’s Lemon Chicken, broiled to perfection and sauced with lemon juice, red wine vinegar, olive oil and spices. The classic veal chop is pan-seared and topped with a medley of hot and sweet cherry peppers. Last but not least, Rao’s legendary meatballs taste as if Aunt Anna were still rolling them each morning. Whichever you choose, you are sure to have a Las Vegas restaurant experience worthy of the fine dining legacy Rao’s Las Vegas has established over the last century.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "I was interested to see what the food was like at Rao's after reading all the hype about their NY restaurant. Meals were average but far too large. Soup was tasty , I ordered an appetizer for main and when it arrived it could have fed four people. My husbands lasagne was overly generous too. I noticed people on other tables left vast amounts on their plates too. Would not go back, far more better restaurants in LV."

  • "Don't get me wrong, I thought the food was delicious and it was relatively fun atmosphere, but by standards of other Italian food I have eaten, this place was just pretty good when it came to entrees, I could not understand how the chicken parm was a $50 dish. In the end, if I had a do-over, I would've got an appetizer and split the entrée....We thought the pasta dish we had was exceptional (lasagna pillows: delicious! ) but everything else was on par with any local Italian place in my neighborhood back home."

  • "Great Seafood salad, loved the Shrimp Fra Diavlo and the Meatballs are second to none."

  • "This was my second time at this Rao's. Being a fan of the two Rao cook books I enjoyed my first visit last year. A year ago I had ordered the signature veal Parmesan and my friend who turned me on to Rao's ordered the pork chop. Both our meals were cooked to perfection. Very moist and flavorful. However, this year we ordered the same thing and both meals were dry. He sent his chop back (he even had requested for it to be center pink) but it came out dry. They brought him a second one which was a bit more moist but did not have the slight pink center as requested. As for me, I did not send mine back. I dealt with it. Perhaps it was who was in the kitchen last Monday night 2014 as opposed to the Wednesday evening we went there in 2013."

  • "This is a fun, go back in time kind of restaurant. We tried several dishes with the lemon chicken and the lasagne being standouts. Make sure you ask for a table in one of the replicas of the New York original."

  • "I was surprised a couple years ago to find a Las Vegas branch of a legendary NYC restaurant that I'd figured I'd never have to opportunity to dine at - you can't get a table at the original Rao's, literally. The first time I went with seven friends and I think only one dish was less than remarkably good. This time a buddy and I tried different items and, again, just outstanding. Service both times was excellent, as was the wine. The price tag was pretty high, but in the end it was worth it....as I said, I could easily lose that much on the casino floor in far less time, and with less overall enjoyment. I don't come to Las Vegas often, but Rao's is just about reason enough."

  • "As fine dining goes, Rao's does it well. Began with their famous meatballs, which were very good. My wife had the shrimp pasta, which has a little bit of a spicy kick to it, and we both loved it. I had the lamb chops, and haven't tasted a better sauce."

  • "The food was just ok for six of us but Salmon and Shrimp dishes were overcooked and dry for the other three in the party of nine."

  • "Great service and ambience. Portions were large but the food itself was rather bland. Service and atmosphere is consistent with fine dining, as is the menu and presentation. Quality of the food is not. It's a slight step up from chain restaurants in terms of quality and is really noisy. We expected a lot better from a place with this sort of real estate in Caesar's Palace. Had the Soup, Penne Vodka, Lasagna, Meatballs, Salmon and Veal. Person who ordered veal liked their entree. Really depressed, I wanted to like this place and left vegas without good italian food. :("

  • "Food is very good Italian but very pricey for pasta. Our service was fair as waiter was a little argumentative with us and took awhile to acknowledge our presence. We expect more when we are paying these prices. We will eat at the bar next time as the bartenders are much friendlier."

  • "Wow what a wonderful dining experience. Rao's was everything we hoped for. This is a must if you are in Vegas. The food was top shelf and the wine list is one of the best. The veal parm was excellent. The seafood salad is legendary. The meatballs...to die for! The pasta and sauces are all you would expect. Rao's is a winner in Vegas!"

  • "Decor is based on the original NYC restaurant, a nice alternative to glitzier Vegas restaurants. Excellent service, very well trained and unobtrusive staff. Great for those looking for traditional Italian and a sophisticated setting."

  • "My partner and I watch the food channels and heard about the New York Rao's. We had watch the show down with Bobbie Flay. When we heard about Rao's in Las Vegas we decided to go for a special birthday celebration. This restaraunt is in name only the food is very poor quality. Our arugula salad was good but it went down hill from there. I ordered Veal Picatta which I have made many many times. This veal was tough and you could barely cut it with a knife. My partner ordered the eggplant parmaesan. I have to say the sauce was just awlful. Whoever made the sauce really needs to go back to cooking school. The Food STARS who are making tons of money really need to take more responsibility for the quality of their food."

  • "Every year I host a dinner at Rao's for business associates. Every time I suggest a change, my friends insist on Rao's. Great for entertaining and family style dinner."

  • "In truth the food was absolutely delicious. Nevertheless, I just cannot get over the ludicrous price. Three people shared two appetizers and two entrees. We had one glass of wine, one beer and a coke. It cost $400!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously. The waiter was very friendly...so friendly in fact he sat down at our table and started chatting with us. Still trying to decide if that was appropriate or not. We arrived 30 minutes early for a 9pm reservation and they wouldn't seat us. That's fine but when we came back half an hour later at 9pm they still made us wait 20 minutes and the restaurant was half empty. Save your money and eat elsewhere."

  • "I have been to many great restaurants...Thomas Keller, Bouchon, Wolfgang Puck, Daniel Boulud, Jean Georges V. etc. Rao's is one of those that I have been to and liked a lot BUT I think over the years there have been many great restaurants with creative menus and yet not overly priced. I think for the type of food and whose menu that has not changed much at Rao's, the entrees are too expensive."

  • "We just had to come here. Rao's is my favorite cookbook. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs which was over the top expensive. It was good enough, but I will just cook at home..."

  • "A wonderful night of dining at Rao's. The food was consistent and so very good. The service was excellent. We hadnt been before and the waiter was excellent at helping us navigate the menu, offering suggestions and allowing us to take our time for a superb dining night. The wine steward was very helpful in helping me select wines that I and my guests, could both be happy with. As I and my guests were leaving we all noted it had been a while since we had been to dinner and had everything, start to finish, turn out so nicely. Perfect night."

  • "We had a nice dinner here in the past and my friend wanted italian food for dinner. I remembered Rao's. Made reservations with open table. We got seated immediately upon arriving. No waiting time and had a table away from the noise. Great service and even better food."

  • "We had a wonderful dinner at Rao's. We had the meatballs for an appetizer and they were melt in your mouth tender! We split the lasagna and veal chop. Along with a scrumptious bread basket this was a lot of delicious food! We couldn't finish it all but wished that we could! The only disappointment was that they didn't have pizza as an appetizer. I gave my husband a Rao's cookbook 6 years ago and he makes the wonderful pizza recipe recipe in the book. We wanted to try it at the restaurant as a comparison."

  • "I remember the day when good service, good ambiance and good food were equally important to restaurant owners and managers. Even in Vegas during March madness! My wife and I were subjected to a table of loud mouthed ,foul mouthed big spenders who forgot the civility they may of once had before money replaced manners! The wait staff indulged and management ignored the brutishness in favor of potential tips and a sizable bill of laden! The two of us waited a long time between courses and relied on a bus boy for refills of bread and water. While the king and his court were drenched in wine, Am I wrong but aren't bars a place to drink and upscale places like this a place for dining?the manager said here's my card call me next time you're in town"

  • "We visited Caesar's Palace an just had to return for the second time to Rao's. I make good sauce with a recipe straight from Italy but Rao's is equally delicious. We ordered capellini with the bolognese sauce and meatballs on the side. OMGGGGGG so good and one of our favorites. We had lasagna on our first visit, it was so delicious. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu the food will delight your tastebuds."

  • "Since we'll never get into the NY location I had to eat here on my recent visit. The service was impeccable. Shaun our waiter was very attentive. The sommelier made a great wine recommendation. We had to get out in time for a show and they had us out in plenty of time. Recommend both the pork chops and the osso bucco. Fabulous Caesar salad and the peas with prosciutto were a great addition. We split the salad and we still had plenty each. Wish we had time for dessert, they all sounded great!"

  • "It's a little pricey however that's to be expected in Las Vegas. The service was top notch and our waiter gave us expert advice on ordering. The food was delicious and we all loved the atmosphere. My only complaint is the lack of average priced wines on the list, in the $50-$100 range."

  • "What more can I say about our favorite restaurant in LV, anytime we are there we have dinner at Rao's. This is the closest to how Italian food is prepared in Calabria where my husband is from. Can't wait to go back, everything is excellent on the menu, veal, pasta, what ever you heart desires."
