Diner Reviews
  • "Everything was very good from the hostess to our table location and our food was perfect. The only slight downfall was the service. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and professional but was very slow and forgetful or it appeared that way. The drinks took very long to come out but they were very good."

  • "Food was good as this was my fourth time at Randazzo's, service was the worst as it appears very young staff at tables and bar area."

  • "Food was incredible and the environment was so cozy and warm. The owner came over to our table to introduce himself which was a very nice touch. Food came out rather fast but I did not feel too rushed. I like to take my time so I thought the turnaround was a little quick but I sat and enjoyed my wine after and did not feel rushed to get up. Will definitely be back!"

  • "Way too expensive. Average size portion of pasta and two giant mushy meatballs for $28 just doesn't cut it."

  • "The food was good but not spectacular for the price. Huge portions and they charge a sharing fee $7.00 a little ridiculous when you are paying $23.00 for pasta with sause not even any meat in it. I think this place is more about the ambiance... cute place , but overpriced for what you get."

  • "The Spaghetti with Sunday gravy was outstanding. The Fettuccine with Shrimp had a beautiful cream after taste. The bread was spot on along with the custom made dipping olive oil. If we could have only had the bread and drinks in 5 minutes instead of 15 for bread and 20 for drinks. We were not served drinks until we received our food and I asked again for the drinks I ordered. Having a police incident down stairs while we were eating caused a total lack of service. The manager was nice enough to comp the cannoli's for dessert."

  • "I took my dad for Father's day lunch and we left very disappointed. Both my parents are elderly, and the 1st strike was the elevator was not working (I had to walk my 87 year old mother up and down the stairs). we sat down, bus boy came with bread and water, and we did not see anyone else for another 10 min. I then asked for the wine list-another 10 min. I ordered wine & at least 15 min went by. The food arrived & the wine was still not there. The waiter - I saw 1 for the entire section, the whole time we were there) checked on us only once throughout the meal. The ACunit was not working properly so it was very warm. tables are too close together, patrons & waiters couldn't get by. We left without dessert because we just wanted to get out"

  • "We took our adult daughter to dinner on a weeknight for her birthday. It was early evening and not crowded, and we were seated on the first level in the bar area. The steady flow of patrons were primarily being seated on the second level,so we were mostly alone with the exception of a few bar patrons. The bartender doubled as our server, and was extremely attentive. He was friendly and accommodating, and gave us personal service. The food was very good, however, there was no soup that day. Every Italian restaurant I've ever been to in Chicago has homemade ministrone every day, and this purports to be a Chicago-style Italian restaurant. The calamari was killer, and the ravioli was perfect. The vodka sauce pasta was excellent."

  • "Our server, Palomino, was gracious and attentive...offering up a great dining experience with suggestions for items we would enjoy on the menu. Our server from prior occasions, came by to say hi and chat...the owner also stopped by to welcome us and talked amiably with us for awhile. This served to make us feel as though we were dining with friends...which in a sense, we were. The food is always good, and again, our dining experience was memorable. A taste of being in an Italian home...highly recommend!"

  • "Food was great with very large portions. Service was very slow at lunch and it was not that busy. Took one hour to receive appetizer."

  • "The lasagna, risotto, and meatballs were incredible. The chicken parmigian was very bland and tasted re-heated. The hostess was very nice. The waiter was a little spacey, took our drink order wrong, and forgot to pack all of our leftovers. We didn't notice until the next day. Although it was probably an honest mistake, we felt a little ripped-off. The restaurant was empty so it was just neglect. Overall, I enjoyed my meal at Randazzo's."

  • "what a great dining experience. the portions are HUGE, service is beyond amazing, the owner actually walks around and greats his guests, and just great food! a must go for a great evening of great food and impeccable service."

  • "We diner here frequently. On my birthday, the service had been disappointing, warranting a less-than-stellar review. This visit, we had the same server, and were afraid it would be a repeat performance...NOT! Giussepe was extremely attentive and charming, recommending a very nice wine...and doing his utmost to make certain we enjoyed every aspect of our dinner - which we did. The bread and food are always excellent, and the service we received was top-notch. Proof that one less-than-perfect experience warrants a re-visit...we all have "off" days. We were so happy to have our faith in this establishment renewed because since it is in our neighborhood, we plan to frequent it often! Thank you for a really nice evening!"

  • "Not our first visit & not our last - food is always really good. Great bread. Hostess did not smile at us and acted bored to be there...more interested in her reflection in the mirror. We asked for butter-waiter never brought it. I caught his eye, asked again-he told someone else to get it. The young man who brought water & bread was more attentive than our actual waiter who seemed bored to be there. Although we said it was a birthday celebration in our reservation, no one said happy birthday (or smiled or offered tip-worthy service for that matter). The waiter neglected to give the 30% Open Table discount & had to redo the bill. Thank heaven the food and atmosphere and prior experiences were good!!! Too bad the staff doesn't seem to care!"

  • "We have been here several times and enjoyed it.So we brought out of town friend and WOW the calamari was overbreaded and tough,Rigatoni Vodka very good, but the Chicken Parm. was just very poor thin as a razor blade ,small portion and no flavor! What happened?"

  • "Dish portions are made for 2-3 people if sharing. We had 4 adults, ordered 2 main dishes, one appetizer and a salad and all shared the dishes. We still had food left over. Food was good.Service was very attentive and polite.Only down size is that you will be charged a $7 sharing meal charge if you only order one dish to share between 2 people. So if you have 4 people you have to order 4 dishes, appetizers or salads or pay $7 for the person sharing the meal."

  • "This is one of the best restaurants in the Miami area! Marc the owner has a passion for food that you can taste in every bite. He is a former boxer who now knocks out customers with his amazing food and not his gloves. If you are ever craving family Italian style food then you must come here for amazing food. I highly recommend the meatballs...you will not find a better meatball anywhere not even Italy. Plus his Chicago style calamari is a unique spin on traditional calamari. The chicken Parm is so good and big you will be eating leftovers for days!!!"

  • "Quantity, Entertaining menu, Movies not fit for the kids, regretfully the old venue had more character and foot traffic. All that said, still a favorite."

  • "An abundance of excellent food with that home style and flavor. Great service always looking over your table. Can say I have had a bad experience at Randazzo would highly recommend it to my friends and family. Randazzo's its just the best."

  • "This restaurant is not kid-friendly. We took our five year old and throughout the restaurant on multiple tvs was the Godfather playing. I know that Martorrano's does this but last time I was at Randazzos in the old location they did not. The fifties style music seemed at odd with the theme. Food was good, if not a bit overpriced. I would come again but not with kids."

  • "THe portions are large and can easily be shared. We split one dinner as an appetizer and it was excellent and just the right amount. The Eggplant parmesan is excellent as is the rigatoni. The red wine the waiter suggested was a perfect pairing for our food selections. The waiter seemed to magically appear and fill our glasses and serve our plates without being noticed despite the VERY bust night and full tables. We were told there were no seats upstairs but when one of our guests asked if they would check- two tables suddenly became open- My point: ask again ask to sit upstairs. You will love the atmosphere. THe food is very very good and served hot. It is a favorite among the locals also. THe owner came by and shook our hands."

  • "The food was great, but the service was not very good. The greeter was very unfriendly, the server was unnatentive during the whole meal, he maybe came back to our table after we ate to see if we wanted desert. Also he did not inform us before ordering the 3 specials of the night. We got more info from the water/bus boy. It was our anniversary dinner and we were very disappointed ."

  • "The food was good. Very clean. We were there to celebrate a birthday. While we got there early it took a while for them to serve us. Additionally, they knew that we had a birthday in our group; however, they didn't acknowledge her."

  • "I had gone just once to Randazzo's for a business lunch a year ago and remember telling my wife we just had to go. We never got around to it due to how far away we live. This past Sunday, I planned on going to Randazzo's for her birthday and took our 9 yr old son with us. The food was even better than I remember it (you MUST try the Chicken Parmigiana Buoniconti!). Also, our waitress, Ana, was out of this world. What a find. I urge you to go there. You can order anything from the menu (family portions, great to share!) and so try several entrees so your party can taste everything. You cannot go wrong with Randazzo's and you will never forget the experience either."

  • "The music was too loud during lunch time, food looks like it was frozen and by the time it arrive to our table it was watery, dessert was frozen too, we order 3 glasses and it charge us twice as much for the cost of a bottle, ridiculous over price."

  • "We don't live in Coral Gables but when we are in town on business, we look forward to our night at Randazzo's. The food is always delicious if not plentiful and the atmosphere can't be beat. You'll feel more like you're in Jersey than in South Florida. Wait staff is attentive and helpful and the wine list provides a great variety from all over the world."

  • "Limited menu selection. Extremely loud and annoying piped in music."

  • "Service is excellent, friendly and professioanl. The appetizer (calamari) and desert (caloni) were excellent. The spaghetti & meatballs was tasteless. Mammoth portions that try to justify the 26 "bucks" charge. Meatballs the size of a baseball had no taste. The ravioli had a perfumey taste. This was the worst tasting food I have ever had in an Italian restaurant! Perhaps I expected too much! Follow Randazzo's advise .... go to another restaurant for different tasting food."
