We invited our neighbors to go with us to the Rancher's Club for their anniversary. We were seated in a corner where we could talk among ourselves without interference from other diners. The service was first rate and the food was gourmet. The prime rib and the bison tenderloins were done to perfection. This is a great "special occasion" restaurant!

The service was excellent as it has been over the past 20 years. It was a little louder than we expected for a Friday night, the music and the bar noise were unbearable. Our room was as far away from the bar as possible, yet we could not get away from the noise. It almost appeared that the bar was more important than the restaurant. The food was good, not great, but very good. It may have slipped a little over the past several years. I'll come back again, hoping for a little quiet and enjoy the food and the atmosphere.

I grew up on Albuquerque and always knew that The Rancher's Club was a special place to dine. If you had a special occasion or a celebration, The Ranchers Club was it! On my most recent visit from Los Angeles to Albuquerque, I wanted to celebrate at The Ranchers Club but I was excited and anticipating something special in my hometown. When my guests and I first arrived, our greeting was very nice and we enjoyed cocktails in their lounge. Dinner itself was a big disappointment. The steak was beyond well done and the stuffed baked potatoe looked like it was from the freezer and tasted as bad as it looked. For the prices charged, everything should be fresh and clearly it was not. I am hoping it was just an off night.

A step into the past with regard to fine dining experience. Professional wait staff, excellent selection of steaks and seafood to include elk, venison, antelope, wild boar and bison. Great bar, good wine list and lovely atmosphere for fine dining. One of a kind find here in Albuquerque where the owner clearly cares about providing a first class experience to the diner.

If your in the area for only one night, this is the place. Don't be fooled by the restaurant be located in the Crown Plaza hotel. We're from Denver and this place is as good as any here or much larger cities we've traveled too (NY, SF, LV, ect..). To start, my wife had the Rancher's Salad and I had the Lobster Bisque. The Salad was very good and the Bisque was just ok (only a couple pieces of lobster). For dinner we both had the Hunters Mixed Grill and it was one of the best dishes I've tasted in a while. The wine list is ok and a reasonable bottle can be found. The service is above and beyond what you find in fine dinning establishments in much larger cities. Next time we're in Albuquerque we will make it a point to dine here again.

We visit the Ranchers Club usually 2 times a year. The food is always excellent as well as the service. The setting is romantic, the table Captains are always attentive and happy to please. The lobby features a grand piano and excellent pianist to accompany your dining experience. The restaurant is located in the Albuquerque Crown Plaza hotel. As a result the parking can become a problem anytime the hotel has some type of special event happening. On our last visit there was no valet anywhere in site and we ended up parking about a block away. My suggestion to the management would be to provide a small block of parking to restaurant patrons. This would make me come back more often if parking was not an issue!

This is our go to restaurant for special occasions. The food is always perfect, not sure about the comments it's not a steakhouse? Really we've eaten at some of the finest chop houses around the country and Rancher's club could take on any one of them. The staff was very attentive without being in your way. If you get the chance to have Ralph as your head waiter you'll be in very good hands.

It was our 30th anniversary, so we wanted to go someplace special. A friend and family member had eaten there for Christmas buffets, and possibly Easter buffets. We thought it was a sure thing for our anniversary, because we were told it was good food. What a mistake. Started out with a Caesar salad, mixed by our table. It was great. We were brought bread and butter. It was great as well. The coffee wasn't very good, but hey, we're coffee snobs so what could we expect? Then came our entrees, and we expected the best. No way. The steak tasted like bacon (what's with that?), otherwise it was just average. The prime rib could barely be cut with a steak knife, it was tasteless, and no au jus. The vegetables were raw--not el dente.:-(

I'm from Omaha, NE and our steak and Prime Rib completely beats out the Kobe steak and prime rib we had there. I was completely disappointed and very dissatisfied will not be back, but the service was 5 star just not the food. I looked forward to this for months and was very upset by the experience. No complaints! Service was excellent. Food was outstandingly delicious. Had a great time. Oh, just remembered, my friend ordered her steak medium; I ordered mine medium rare, and they were both about the same ... but when we asked that her steak be cooked a few minutes longer, it was no problem. We both really enjoyed our meals.

My wife and I have celebrated our four most recent wedding anniversaries at the Rancher's Club of New Mexico. We have also shared this restaurant with family members on various occasions as well. This is our "go to" restaurant when we want to have a special dining experience. The food is always wonderful and the staff is very attentive without hoovering around you. Best steaks around. We always feel pampered and special whenever we visit this restaurant. Although we don't imbibe in alcohol some people we have taken with us do and they say the wine list is fabulous. If you want that memorable dining experience from the moment you enter the restaurant to the moment you leave, do yourself a favor and give the Rancher's Club a visit.

A very elegant and traditional steakhouse with flowery upholstery offsetting horns, mounted bucks and steer heads and very authentic western art. The dining area adjoins a very comfortable, well stocked and managed piano bar. The menu has all the traditional steaks and prime rib, large and not so large, with multiple choices for side dishes and toppings. There is also a wide selection of non-beef items for those who don't like steaks. The wine list is not extensive but has a broad selection from California, France and other regions, with moderate to very expensive prices. They also have a decent "by the glass" selection as well as a good number of after dinner drinks. The wait staff is competent, friendly and attentive. We will be back!

We went to Ranchers Club while we stayed at the Crown Plaza. Based on what we had read about it, we expected an extraordinary meal. We both ordered the prime rib medium rare and a Caesar salad. The salad was very good. The prime rib, however, was slightly undercooked and lacked the tenderness one would expect for the price. Had we not been dining with another couple, we would have sent the food back and requested something else. Our expensive meals failed to meet the standard of a truly fine restaurant. We would not revisit.
