Diner Reviews
  • "A great place to have dinner, drinks and see a concert."

  • "We were looking for something a little different for a weeknight.vWe found a performer playing at the Ram's Head and booked acouple of tickets. Then we were offered the Performance Package which included dinner and a parking discosunt along with piority seating and we bit on the offer. The service and foor were just what a Tuesday evening pre-performance meal demanded and the show was fantastic. We have been to the Ram's Head before but not taken them up on this offer. We "will" do it again."

  • "We had tickets to the show at Ram's Head on Stage and decided to eat in the attached restaurant (since food inside the show is so-so). I have had better dinners here before, but we were in a hurry and went with what was quick. Their battered onion rings are always great and were the high point. I had a cheesesteak sandwich, which came on a large sourdough roll too large to bite into, so ended up just eating the filling (which was strips of grilled steak, not a typical steam-um type, plus cheese, onions and peppers). Fries were OK. My husband had fish and chips and enjoyed them ... they are nicely fried, not greasy, and a good sized portion. No time for dessert. On other visits, I've liked their cream of crab soup but wasn't in the mood."

  • "Rams Head Tavern is great if you're seeing a show at Rams Head Live. It's convenient and the food is basically good. Nothing amazing or highly memorable, but you could do worse and go to a chain restaurant. I had the Shepherd's Pie, which was just fine. My companions had the crab cakes and chicken fingers. If you're doing a show, this is a great place to go as you do get a discount on your meal."

  • "I love going to the Ram's Head. Food is great, service is good, pricing is fair and it is always full of young professionals."
    Dined on 4/3/2014
  • "Their special attention to visitors attending their shows is a standout; and it's consistent.. The host or waiter grabs your tickets, seats and serves you quickly for dinner, and walks you to your venue seats. Just this weekend, we witnessed a patron who was dissatisfied about something and the manager extremely politely went to their nearby table and addressed their concern. Also, the music venue attracts fun folks who love and respect the musicians. My husband and I, or my BFF usually end up hooping and laughing with folks seated nearby before it's over. Yep. We have become regulars here instead of the Birchmere."

  • "We were at Rams Head for the show but was impressed with the food and atmosphere. We were planning a trip back before we were done our entree"

  • "This was not our first time here. Waitress impressed upon us we should hurry because we had tickets.Told her if we were late it was okay. Woman ordered food right away. Woman was to slow to order because waitress insisted on getting drinks and I told her I was not finished with my order. Then she proceeded to wait for the rest of my order. Man ordered a bottle of wine. Woman ordered most of meal yet she only asked man how is everything. Woman insulted by waitress and was told quinoa was not a green salad. Really I knew it was a grain because I have eaten it on many occasions. I believe it would have been proper for her to explain it to me if I asked. She took us to the concert exceedingly fast. Two words Carols Creek next time."

  • "Went out to see Brian Culbertson and decided to grab a bite before hand. The Ambiance was excellent the service was outstanding. Because we went to a show and had dinner we received free parking and was escorted to our seats. Management was also too. I will def. be coming back."

  • "Ate here a few years ago and had a great time, came in before a show last weekend, and found a lot to be desired. Service was fine but not impressive. I ordered one of the specials, my date had the Cobb salad, and we split an appetizer and dessert. Everything was mediocre at best - my duck was overcooked, the salad was just ok, the appetizer needed a sauce to bring it all together, the dessert was nothing better than what we could defrost at home. Overall, we were unimpressed, with no plans to return!"

  • "Oh, heart, do not break! After all these years, no Tavern Ale! I was really, really disappointed. It was such a popular beer among my friends, it baffles me that it was removed. I'm hoping this decision is revisited. The substitute IPA was simply not as good. And the highest noise level that you call "energetic" I call "too loud." Please turn down the music. We were in the smaller tea room, so it might have been unbalanced in there. Still, going to a show at the Ram remains one of my favorite things to do."

  • "I had a great time at the Tavern and the service could not have been better before The Oakridge Boys show. My first time to eat at the Tavern before a show and I would not hesitate to do it again."

  • "Our waiter very accommodating, the food delicious."

  • "The Rams Head Tavern in Annapolis has a great selection of foods and drink, and offers a "performance package" for their music venues... Great service. Parking garage right around the corner. Easy to access from Route 50. Overall great experience."

  • "I was seated promptly even though I was early and the rest of my group was late. I was disapppointed at one charge on my bill. I ordered the hummas appetizer. I ate most of the vegetables prior to my group arriving. I asked for it to be refreshed to share withmy friends. I was charged $5 for vegetables and $1 for pita. I think a little high. My dinner was a beer, the appetizer twice, and a salad and came to $38. I will return but will be very careful if I make a special request."

  • "My husband and I celebrated Valentine's Day at the Rams Head Tavern. It was a wonderful experience. We are planning on another date there soon."

  • "We chose the Rams Head Tavern because of its proximity to the Naval Academy Shuttle Bus Parking en route to the Men's basketball game vs. Colgate University. The ambiance, waitstaff and food were all wonderful and to top it all off they even validated our parking in the public lot because there was some sort of concert that night. What a nice extra for their patrons. Without realizing, we sat down at "shift change" and even that was seamless. One waitress got us started and then very professionally introduced us to her replacement who was equally fabulous. We will make a point to go back to your establishment on our next trip down!"

  • "This is the first negative experience we've had here. The main problem was our server...multiple times, she would mention that she just started. However, it felt more like an excuse than an apology. She never smiled once, so that was not very welcoming. Overall, we are still fans of this place and will return...we just hope that other new employees will have more oversight before being on their own!"

  • "I've been to Ram's Head for dinner prior to a show on several occasions. Overall my experience has been good. However, my last experience was poor. My entree of sesame scallops was cold; the restaurant replaced it with a second order which was hot but undercooked. My girlfriend's prime rib was ok. The restaurant gave us a free round of beers. In the past I've had burgers, sandwiches, steak and fish, which on the whole were good, but you are probably better off sticking to the pub fare. The bar gets pretty loud while the dining area is quiet. This is a great music venue, with consistently good beer. Grabbing a bite before a show is a pretty safe bet, but I don't recommend the scallops."

  • "There are three seating areas: the bar area downstairs, the bar area upstairs, and a boring dining room upstairs. Despite being empty and informing them that this was a special occasion, we were shuttled into the back, sterile dining room. Sunday brunch advertises live music at 10AM. We were there from 10:30 to 11:30 and the musicians were still schlepping their way in. If you go, ask to sit in the front bar area or (better yet) just walk downstairs and eat brunch in the bar. They have the radio on."

  • "Rams Head has a little something for just about any taste. Do you like a raucous bar? They have it! A dining experience that allows you to converse with your friends without shouting? They have it! Entertainment? They have it! I love pub food and the Rams Head is no exception."

  • "Had dinner here for the first time and will never go back. The calamari was big and chewy so we couldn't eat it. Order 2 Ceasers salads and never received them, they were removed from the bill, my husband ordered their cheese steak sub entree and it was so messy and had so much mayo on it the roll fell apart and he couldn't eat it. Said something to the waitress and she just apologized. I had a seafood Alfredo pasta and it would have been good if there wasn't so much bacon on it. Didn't eat much so we took it home and ended up throughing it out. Not once did a manage come to the table to check on us or apologize and nothing was returned from the bill. It was just a horrible experience to have for NYE."

  • "The 4 of us had a wonderful night celebrating New Years Eve at the Rans Head Tavern. Bar scene at the front andrestaurant in the back. Great service."

  • "The waitstaff were running almost maniacally around the restaurant. It was not even half full when we were there. Therefore, the service was perfunctory as it would be dining in a cafeteria. My salad was mediocre and my husband loved his Mahi. We ordered key lime pie that was teeny, though tasty. Overall, I wouldn't go back again."

  • "My wife an I just love all of the Rams Heads restaurants. There is a great menu that will satisfy just about any graving you have. While they have your typical bar fare they also have some other more upscale meals as well as great specials every night. We went to this location because we had tickets to a show in their venue later that night. We always take advantage of their Entertainment Package which discounts their already reasonably priced food plus has a number of other benefits."

  • "This was a satisfying family experience for Thanksgiving 2013. We used Open Table to book the reservation. The driver was to combine a low cost Thanksgiving Dinner alternative with a day trip to the State Capital. A field trip combining a history lesson & gastronomic experience. For beer drinkers, these people know what they are doing! The most important point to highlight was the excellent service provided. It was remarkable! I regret not to remember the waitress name, but she was very kind to introduce us to the new waitress that would replace her upon the termination of her regular shift, that took place in the middle of our dinner. Otherwise, it would have spoiled the whole dining experience. Most restaurants present you with the bill."

  • "I've been coming to Ramshead for shows for years and we always dine at the restaurant prior to the show. Everything I have ever had from their menu has been delicious. Friday night was no exception. The shrimp and grits was cooked to perfection. The grits wonderfully creamy and not over cooked and the shrimp just the way I like them. A hint of spicy made this dish well worth ordering again."

  • "Well, have been there several times before. This visit was very disappointing. The food not good at all. Order the Crab Calke sandwich. Average, taste blan, fries over cooked. No taste. Very disappointed on the whole dinner experience."

  • "Being from the south, it is hard to find great comfort foods. Rams Head serves a great Shrimp and Grits. Service was very ethusiastic and the crowd was great. Did not know they had a concert that night, but will try and make the next one."

  • "I love eating dinner here before enjoying a concert at the Rams Head OnStage, conveniently connected to the restaurant. I usually get the crab mac & cheese, but decided to try the turkey monte cristo this time. I really enjoyed it! Keep up the good work!"

  • "Crab cakes were awesome (I have them at every restaurant I visit in Annapolis) and the 12 year Glenlivet was served perfectly!"

  • "The service here was great. We had a nice leasurley brunch. The music entertainment was really good. Nice place to go and have a wonderful morning. Bloody Mary's are a plus!"

  • "Was excited to try this place as the reviews were good. However, the hostess was rude, chairs uncomfortable and the food is below average. Go anywhere else !"

  • "I had the Monte Cristo -- French Toast with turkey, ham, bacon, cheese. My husband ordered the French Toast, supposedly made with a Grand Marnier-dipped batter, and fruit. Both dishes looked plentiful and luscious. One bite and we were both disappointed. The French Toast was positively bland. No taste of anything traditionally associated with french toast, e.g. vanilla, cinnamon or sugar, and certainly no taste of any Grand Marnier. I asked for more preserves and syrup, but neither helped. The Monte Cristo had plenty of delicious turkey, ham and bacon. That wasn't the problem -- it was the French Toast itself. I would give the Ram's Head another chance, but I definitely would NOT recommend any of the french toast dishes."
