Cons: I went on Saturday night and this restaurant was very loud so we had to pretty much yell at each other. If you are going on a first date, pick another night."

  • "Our waiter was unkind to the busboy after he broke a bread plate against our table & then he proceeded bring our dessert simultaneously with the check, give us about 45 seconds & come back to take the check before we had even taken a bite of dessert at which time we nicely told him we hadn't even looked at it yet. Then he came back every couple of minutes & stood at our table clearly rushing us out. I have never seen such a thing from a waiter ever in my life. It was so rude & inappropriate & we would probably not go back just for that reason."

  • "Hi, Me and my friend went here to celebrate her 40th birthday as a belated present to her. We were a few minutes late for our reservation and we were seated immediately. The bar area was jumping, not super-packed but pretty busy and energetic. Very nice ambiance and modern restaurant. Previous reviewers noted slow service, our waither was attentive to the point we were joking about it that he was always there. I always love a waiter who fills my water without prompting. We shared a house salad which was pretty good. My friend got the Lobster Ravoli with scallops in the middle and said it was delicious. I got the Veal Parm it was delicious and huge so I had to take the half home. My pasta was just ok."

  • "Wonderful soup appetizer (something like a pasta fagioli but with fennel sausage in lieu of the pasta). Absolutely the most tender and delicious meatballs you can get - the way they're supposed to taste. Mussels "Over" were as good as ever. I had at least 40 small mussels covering my spaghetti, and the sauce was awesome. Atmosphere was "hotel chic" - not a great fit for an old style classic Italian restaurant, but the bar scene was good. Service was good - they weren't in your face every 5 minutes. One minor drawback was the red wines we ordered by the glass were a bit too warm. It would have been nice to get them in the low-to-mid-60's so you know the bottle hasn't been out of the cellar too long. Maybe a bottle is the way to go."

  • "Food was very good, and wait staff attentive. Flexibility on the menu was not an option according to the waiter who said the kitchen goes ballistic with special requests. Music volume got to the point that we could not converse around the table (not an option on the rating scale). Overall impressive when we first walked in but we all left disappointed."

  • "I loved the ambiance, but the music was way too loud. We couldn't hear each other speak. We love Ralph's in South Philly. The mussel dish is our favorite, but the mussels we ordered were really small and we had a lot of empty shells. The sauce was still delicious though. Besides that, the food was great!"

  • "The contemporary decor did not fit with what we'd expect in a traditional Italian restaurant. It did feel like we're divining in a hotel lobby. The food was good, but nothing special. The side of escarole was mushy and contained way too much garlic. Although my veal parm was good, the fact that everything was barely lukewarm spoiled it. The noise level was almost unbearable. A Frank Sinatra vocalist was very good, however he had to compete with bar TV's and very loud bar and dining room conversation. Our server, Chris, was very attentive and friendly. He was probably the only positive of the evening. Will not return to this restaurant."

  • "I went to Ralphs soon after it opened in KofP. The food was pretty good but the service was uneven, not too attentive, not all that friendly.... This time around (over a year later) the food was better, delicious in fact, but the service still was well, a bit on the less professional side. The hostess was awesome, friendly, professional, accomadating, and as was the bartender. Both these women were great. However, our server was rushed, was not welcoming, overall just "there".. he did nothing to enhance our experience at all, and there were times (just like last time) that we had to search for him to get more bread, or refill a water glass. The manager did stop over but seemed more like a obligation than friendly authentic concern."

  • "Went with a group of four. We were stuck between two large parties who were extremely loud. The food was good but we sat there after we were sat and the waiter walked away during a drink order and didn't come back until we were ready to order dinner. We couldn't hear ourselves let alone have a conversation across our table. The waiter did show a bit more attention after we ordered wine. One of our apps never showed however. Overall, quality of food was great, service was overall average and the ambiance was just loud."

  • "We decided to sit at the bar before heading to our table. I loved their specialty cocktail list. Had some really neat drink recipes and the bartender suggested the sicilian blood orange. This drink was delicious that I actually ended up having 2 more with dinner. When we decided to sit down we asked to be seated in the half booth table which we found to be super romantic! Our request for a table was absolutely not a problem at all. The meal that followed was unreal. Easily the best italian food in the area and quite possibly the best I've ever had! That is a lot coming from a girl that was raised in a household with home cooked italian! We loved this restaurant we will be back because this is the best in town hands down!"

  • "Stayed in the hotel and wasn't expecting a lot. This place was GOOD. Like should be a free standing restaurant good. Great to know I never have to leave the hotel for an amazing meal/service and it appeared people from the outside were coming in too. History on back page of menu was fun and explained everything. Can't wait till my next stay the sheraton in a few weeks now."

All I know was that the mussels red, veal parm and chicken sorrento were exactly how I remember them tasting, so what more could you ask for? Servers were from original too, so that was fun!"

  • "Our party of four was seated at an oval table that looked out at the restaurant where you sat 4 across. We asked to be moved because there was no way we could have a decent conversation sitting all 4 side by side. Service was slow and not in a good "enjoy your meal" kind of way. It took awhile to get drinks and the courses did not come out in a timely matter.Our waiter was unattentive and not professional. For dessert another random waiter took our order and 5 minutes after the order was taken our original waiter tried to take the order again. Lastly, the ambiance was hotel sheik. I felt like I was eating in a hotel lobby rather than an old school Italian restaurant.The experience was mediocre and I have had better Italian food."

  • "I was very disappointed. We arrived with reservations, the restaurant was half empty, and still had to wait to be seated. We asked to sit along the wall where there were multiple tables empty but we were told they were reserved. Neary an hour later some of those tables were still empty. The manager seemed unconcerned that we were not happy. The food was good but not great. Our waiter kept interrupting our conversations instead of waiting politely for a break. When we ordered coffee it came so full that it spilled out when adding cream overflowing the saucer. When we called the waiter over he asked what we wanted him to do about that. After that he was completely MIA. We had to get the hostess to find him for refills."

  • "The modern decor definetly didn't fit this restaurant. I found it really odd to be eating Italian food in a restarant with that decor. The food was ok at best. It was very over seasoned with Garlic to the point that it was almost unedible."

  • "We had my husbands birthday dinner here on a saturday night and it just wasn't up to par. We have been to this restaurant on at least 6 other occasions and had a wonderful experience each time. This time was just... well..meh. The service was spotty and unattentive. We had to ask for everything we needed. We were never told about the specials. After we ordered we heard our waiter telling the people at the table next to us the specials. I had the chicken parm which tasted flat; way too much sauce (which was not seasoned well) and the chicken was over cooked. My son and husband had the strip steak which they said was ok. We did not stay for dessert because we were so disappointed. We expected so much more. Not really sure we will return"
