Raku Sushi - West EndAttentive and friendly serviceOur group of four had dinner there on Mother's Day and we sat in the tatami seating which is beautiful and creative but you don't have to sit cross-legged (there are wells under the table to tuck your legs). We have gone to the Raku in downtown Edina a few times before and always liked their food/service so we decided to try the new West End restaurant. It is very simple and elegant and I have yet to be disappointed in my selections of food at Raku. Lots of choices and very beautifully presented. The staff is polite and service is quick (for hand-made sushi they are very efficient!) They have the popular roll choices as well as some very unique offerings. They have a good Japanese menu available for non-sushi lovers as well. My friends often get their teriyaki dishes or their noodle bowls. Their gyoza and shumai are super good as well as the salads.

Presentation - which is a significant part of the magic of sushi and sashimi to my mind - is outstanding. Look, balance, color, all of that, really well done. And then the actual pieces were excellent -- fresh, flavorful, well put together blendings of ingredients with the varous types of fish.
