  • Probably not the best night
    OpenTable Diner Since 2008
    Dined on 12/31/2008
Probably not the best night to judge as it was news years eve so a bit busier and noisier than usual. Overall it was ok and I dont regret spending time and money there but I would not bother going back (and it was a bit on the pricey side). My main issue was with portion size - miniscule in the case of shepherds pie and the irish stew (which are not expensive dishes to make even when they have been fanciefied). The rest of the food was of very high standard, well cooked and presented - though I do not expect to see lots of space on the plate when I order a mixed grill. The childrens fish and chips was lovely but only enough for a five or six year old if your child is older than this get the adult portion. The chips were excellent though

Great place to go for good food and Iriah music. The Irish step dancer was an added treat. Tokk an hour to get seated and in the process had to decline one table for the wrong number of people and we had requested entertainment viewing. After the issues were cleared up, everything else was great.

The Raglan was an average restaurant. Our waiter was outstanding. The service was slow, but he told us up front that the kitchen was a little behind. We ordered our food right after we ordered our appetizers. So, the wait was not too bad. We had two small children with us and he made sure we got their food right away with the appetizers. Overall, a nice experience.

We don't eat a lot so the portions were OK for us. If you are a big eater you would need to get a few appetizers just to fill up. The food was delicious. The staff was friendly and the service was reasonable, not fast but not really slow. Overall it was an enjoyable experience.

We would almost consider ourselves triple-R: Raglan Road Regulars. We fell in love with its warm atmosphere and authentic menu. Sometimes the servers get a bit overwhelmed (when this place fills up, its a madhouse) but the 5-star food and atmosphere make up for the 3-star service. The live music and Irish dancing are a nice added touch to round out the experience. Overall, a great place to drag a date, or even a few friends, for a great evening when time (and wallet) permits.

  • For a pub you would have expected
    OpenTable Diner Since 2008
    Dined on 12/20/2008
For a pub you would have expected food presented in a more casual and abundant manner. My son ordered the shepard's pie, it looked like it came out of a terrine, elegant, but small. He had a milk shake on the way home because he was still hungry. The other entrees were on the small side too. Each was very tasty. The mussels did not have enough broth, but the waiter quickly remedied that when asked. For Downtown Disney it is probably not all that expensive, but I would not go back. Four people, no appetizers, 8 beers, four entrees on the lower end of their price schedule, one side (calcannon...mashed potato w/cabbage, about a 3/4 cup for $4.50) still cost us $150.

Although the selection of beer was rather good, the food was definitely overrated. I didn't think it was possible to botch Shepherd's Pie, but they did. I don't recall what my other two dining companions had, however, they both stated that they would never return. The desserts were extremely small and as I recall, $8 in cost; extremely high, even for Disney standards. If we return, it will only be to indulge my husband's taste for good beer.

Horrible experience. From the hostess who told us to sit anywhere and never acknowledged or "marked" our Opentable.com reservation, to the six servers who stood behind our table and stared at us for 20 minutes before drawing straws to decide who would service our table. Food was mediocre. Atmosphere was like a high school cafeteria. If this place was anywhere else, it would've folded a long time ago. If you have to eat in Downtown Disney, try Wolfgang Puck Cafe or Express.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2008
    Dined on 12/7/2008
I've been to Raglan Road four times now. I have never had a bad meal, or poor service. This is the fist time I've been there so early that the band and dancers had not come on stage. To be honest, I love them, but they make it very hard to talk to and hear others during their performance. The food takes traditional Irish pub fare and raises it a level both in taste and presentation. My partner and I split the Muscles entree as an appetizer, which was a really great idea. They were wonderful, and I was tempted to drink the remaining broth like a soup. Another high light is the bread service. the heavy dense muffins are a perfect match for the olive oil and Guinness beer reduction used for dipping.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2008

We ate here on our first evening at Walt Disney World. It is located in what once was Pleasure Island at Downtown Disney, so now, the area surrounding the restaurant is pretty quiet. The restaurant itself is quite good. The food was different from what you see at other places around Walt Disney World, which I think is a real draw. I had the Goat's Town. If you've ever been to France and had a Chevre Chaud salad, it's pretty much that. Greens with berry compote and breaded soft goat cheese. It was really good and just about the only salad I got to eat our whole trip! My husband had the shepheard's pie - which was piled high and had a great sauce. My mother in law had "the best fish and chips ever!", as did my son. Nice beer choices

The food was great, the service was less then desirable. We waited nearly an hour for our food to arrive for a party of 9. Not even some bread to hold us over during the wait. The manager came over after 45 minutes of putting in our order to tell us it was almost ready. At the end of the meal not even a offer for a free desert or coffee. Very disappointing to a restaurant with big potential.

We were a little upset with Ragland Road. What looked to be a very romantic place, was not that. I took my wife there on our honeymoon. Our food came out a little cold. They put us right by the bathrooms. The noise was so loud, I had to yell across the table for my wife to be able to hear me. It was a complete disaster, and not at all romantic, or what we were made to think it was. For the price we paid, I think we could have had a much more romantic dinner somewhere else. If I was to go back, it would only be to hear the music.

We happened to be there on the halfway to st patty's day night. We were curtly told at checkin that we were limited to 2 hrs at the table. the noise was overwhelming. The server, Justin, was incompetant. He was not well versed in the menu and was not able to answer simple questions about the menu. He also did not offer to check. A server delivering a meal knocked a bread plate on the floor and left it there. Justin actually stepped over it 3 times. Drinks were not refilled promptly and we were left with empty glasses often. Such a disappointing meal

This is in Pleasure Island in Downtown Disney, Orlando. Though it is on Disney property it genuinely feels like you are in a neighborhood Irish pub. The food is excellent and the music is excellent. I could have sat all night listening and sipping a pint. Go after 9:00pm because that is when the music starts. They also have an Irish dancer who occasionally gets up and dances. Very impressive. Definitely go. Not completely cheap but definitely worth it.
