  • "Came here after reading positive OT and Yelp reviews. Every dish was well received by the entire table. We started with an appetizer of delicately fried dough with prosciutto and liver pate with honey and ricotta. For our entree, the table ordered the spaghetti with mixed seafood, fresh pasta in mushroom and truffle sauce and the organic chicken. We practically licked our plates clean. By the time dessert rolled around, we were all stuffed but couldn't help but to order their cheesecake slice and chocolate pudding. Will definitely return!"

One exception was the broccoli-rabe which was a bit on the salty side as olives and capers were used in preparation and if salt was added, it was too heavy handed. Other than that, the food was excellent. It is a nice spot and friendly."

I still think about the starter, calamari. Wow-it only got better with my NY strip (wife loved her seafood pasta) and ending with cheese cake. Great dining jewel!"

  • "We visited on a Thursday and had the Chef's Tasting 4 Course Meal. We were asked about any food allergies or dislikes, and beyond that, the meal would be a surprise. First came warm bread with carmelized onion, pepper and eggplant. Delicious. The appetizer course was really 3 different items, served family style to share. Then followed a pasta course, with generous servings of two kinds of fresh homemade pastas and sauces. The main course was swordfish, accompanied by savoury vegetables, beautifully plated. Dessert was cheesecake from chef's family recipe, like no other. All courses were explained by the chef at our table as they arrived. Service was welcoming, friendly & efficient. This was one of the best meals of our lives."

Also had the Burrata salad, a little different, burrata and quartered tomato, and a very good Melanzana eggplant appetizer, For entrees, zuppa di pesce, a market fish stew with tomato, garlic and Taglioni Ai Funghi pasta with mixed mushrooms and truffle pate."

  • "A friend and I were looking for a restaurant before the theater. We happened on this place and sat outside . We shared some delicious rice balls. Then we had chicken Parmesan which was very good. On the way to the bathroom ,I noticed the chef making rice balls. My friend was interested in the process so the chef was gracious and showed her the process. They also had food tours stopping in for tastes. This was a very good place to have brunch at a reasonable price."

Great suggestions on wine and desert from the waitress, a nice chat with Rafele, and the feeling when you left that although not cheap, it was extremely fair and worth every cent. It was one of my best dinners in years. "

The staff couldn't have been more attentive. We live in the neighborhood, have passed it a million times but never went in. We will be going in a million times more. Fabulous!!!"

  • "I love the Gnocchi here, they are like little pillows of air. All pasta is made fresh and that is a difference you can definitely tell. Good service, nice atmosphere. The artichoke salad is a little small however is tasty, but if you like a bigger portion, the breaded cauliflower salad can be split. You have to order the Ricotta Cheesecake. It sounds boring, but it is amazing. The night we went they sold out of it, so I was really sad since I no longer live in the city. "

Roast Cauliflower side dish with caramelized currants was delicious-even for those of us who don't like cauliflower! Branzino was cooked just right with seasonings that complimented the fish. Funghi and Gorgonzola pizza was the perfect shared appetizer. Silky, tart gorgonzola balanced the mushrooms and crispy crust. The only curiosity was that the restaurant closed down very early--we sat at 8:00, by 10:15 or so they were putting up chairs all around us and the restaurant had cleared out. It was clear the wait staff was just waiting around for us to leave. Very odd because every other place in the Village was hopping!"

  • "I've been to Rafaele often and it's always consistent. The fried artichokes and pizza/flatbread with gorgonzola and mushrooms and truffle oil are amazing. Service is really good. A waiter named Lee has waited on us a few times and he is always efficient and friendly, but never intrusive. My only complaint about the restaurant is the noise level. It's very loud. If you're sensitive to that, try to go during off hours, or sit outside. "
