Radius - San FranciscoGem I didn't know existedI have no idea if anyone knows about htis place, and it is in a random spot without much press as far as I know. It is absolutely worth a try. The service we had was really great, she was knowledgable about the menu and very helpful. Food was beautiful and delicious. I can't say enough about how surprised I was that I'd never heard of this place. Try the chicken, it was delicoius. But basically everything we had was very good. I'll go back. I don't usually write reviews that just rave, but this place deserves it.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the better restaurantsOne of the better restaurants in SF that few have tried.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMHad the fried chicken whichHad the fried chicken which was served over Brussels Sprouts with kabocha squash and and ham hock mince. First was the carrot soup and finished with the lemon tart. We started with a few other pieces - including the oysters and the pea and carrot salad - which really bore out the local flavors. Everything was wonderfully flavored with just the right amount of uniqueness to each dish. The wine list was good, wish there were cocktails! Our second bottle was a Pleiades by Sean Thackery, a wine we have frequently - it had an off sulfur smell which fortunately dissipated after 15 minutes. Would definitely return. The prix fixe menu was an good value at $40.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place with fresh localGreat place with fresh local food and Frederik is the best server around!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMExceeded all expectations!Exceeded all expectations! Comfortable, airy space, charming service, ice cold beer, and an A+ menu from first course to last. I'll definitely be coming back again and again. There are many nice Cal cuisine restaurants in SF, but Radius stands out for at least these dishes:
-bone marrow. One of the most flavorful, generous portions I've seen in SF
-pork chop. So tender, I wonder if it was sous vide? It was so big we had half left over, and it was still delicious the next day.
-lemon tart. WOW! Right up there with Tartine's lemon tart (maybe even superior?) Tart, smooth, and the perfect finish to a very satisfying(and very big!) dinner.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for special occasionsWe've been to Radius several times for special occasions and it's always been a fantastic experience!3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMexcellent food -- winter rootsexcellent food -- winter roots pot pie, which wasn't like any pot pie I've known, but excellent nonetheless, and a most incredibly excellent lemon curd tart -- and attentive but not overbearing service. This place was the tops.1/25/2013 12:00:00 AMI love the story behind theI love the story behind the restaurant name. The next time you go, make sure to ask why, "Radius". The food was fantastic and the ambiance wasn't too loud, but then again, we went on a late reservation. Nonethelss, it was an overall great experience with fantastic food and a huge wine list to boot...11/30/2012 12:00:00 AM
