Food was very good, but didn't knock me out. Typical upscale pricing. Full bar. Curiously, the place was half-empty at 7:30 on a Friday night. Didn't go to our local Italian place (TreVi, in Glenside) because the wait would be an hour. All in all, happy I visited Radice, and will return, but I was not moved by my initial experience.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMVLVMy friends (3 couples) visited the Radice Restaurant on Mother's Day and enjoyed a relaxing and wonderful dinner. A first time visit for us, we all agreed that the ratings of service, food, ambience were all outstanding. Our host for our 5pm reservations (I don't remember his name), was excellent. Also, I have heard very positive reviews from co-workers who visits the restaurant often. I will definitely reccommend the Radice to others and will visit again with family and friends.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMa mustWe made a late Mother's Day reservation; the place was packed yet because it runs so smoothly it was as if the high capacity crowd was no challenge. Service food taste and portions and even the busboys caused us to say that this is how a dinning out experience should feel. We felt satisfied, not stuffed from the special bottled water through desserts "to die for." Well done RADICE and well-done open table without which I do not believe the reservation and this experience would have been possible. Food was amazing!!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMCity food at Neighborhood pricesEven the entryway to Radice is special with large stone silos and planters filled with flowers.But the food makes the place-even for this vegetarian.Husband is a carnivore and loves it too.The bread basket was filled with 3 types of bread,one a delicious flatbread.Carciofini with baby artichokes, potatoes & leeks is a tasty starter,piping hot with a wonderful broth.The special spinach salad with roasted pecans pleased my husband-mixture of tender spinach and crunchy pecans with blue cheese crumbles was excellent.I had the Radice salad with olive oil roasted beets and fennel-a very unusual but delicious mix.My husband's osso Buco was a ver large portion,veal falling off the bone.The saffron risotto finished it perfectly.We will be back soon.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMnice anniversary venueMy wife and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary here. The manager let me pay for their dinner via credit card over the phone. My parents said they had amazing food and service! So happy they enjoyed it! How fortunate we are to have such a fine restaurant in Montgomery County. In addition to gourmet Italian cuisine, Radice has the most generous and fairly priced wine selection of any restaurant in both the city and suburbs. Service is terrific with a personal touch: Toto is always welcoming, Brad is a terrific host and staff is always friendly. Food is wonderful - we usually get the small plates (polenta, grilled squid)and pizzas (try the grapes with sausage) and the salumi is amazing. Best coffee in the area, too. Service was great the first time but this time it was exceptional because one of the owners was also attending to us. Love the appetizers (castrenella), arugula salad, and dessert (chocolate mousse cake). Both pasta dishes (duck ragu and pasta with tomato bacon sauce)that I have ordered have just been OK.
