Diner Reviews
  • "I have walked by Racks a 100 times and not ventured in off of Atlantic Blvd, but recently read a food review and was intrigued. We had the steamers (clams) and they were amazing and fresh. For dinner we had the snapper blackened ( a little overcooked and dry) with the jambalaya rice which was very good. And finally we had the scallops with pork belly which was absolutely terrific."

  • "Noise level high, food so-so Would not return Price high for the poor quality Charged $3 for 4 small parker house rolls"

  • "Ate at Racks for the first time, and we were not disappointed. Food was excellent, service was superb. A thoroughly enjoyable experience all around. We'll be back soon and often. Only complaint is that they don't have validated valet parking, as many of the local restaurants do."

  • "Best seafood on Atlantic Ave. by far. Great food, service, and ambiance make this restaurant a real treat for an evening out."

  • "Great food (best crab cakes around), Nice friendly service and reasonable pricing. Read some not so stellar reviews and I don't understand why. I found Racks to be excellent all around. If you're looking for a hoity toity, stuffy, stuck up place to dine, this is not the place. But if you just want some good food, friendly service and nice atmosphere, check out racks."

  • "Excellent seafood place. Oysters are the shining star. Highly recommend the fried oyster po-boy, and, according to my wife, the oysters Rockefeller."

  • "Our first dining experience at Rack's and we will more than likely go there again. The menu has fresh items and the fish tacos were mouth watering as well as the ceviche. We had a little bit of everything because it was all so good. Our server was on point, helpful and friendly, a rarity now a days! Can't wait for my next date night there."

  • "Have noticed this restaurant for years. Tried a majority of the restaurants on Atlantic Avenue, and by far Racks has the best fish and oysters. Very good service and I would highly recommend."

  • "Great food and friendly service. The power salad is to die for. The decor is super cool and so are the restrooms. I love Gary Rack's restaurants."

  • "A bit pricey, but food was good, atmosphere vibrant, and we had a nice evening!"

  • "we dined here with the impression it would be not much different from the others on the ave. turns out this restaurant beats all others on the strip hands down. it's fun, lively and delicious. the servers are pleasant and most look like they are having fun working there. thanks goodness we tried it out, or we'd have to settle for surrounding establishments. my recommendation would be anything from the raw bar- if you like freshly shucked oysters, you'll be in heaven."
    Dined on 7/14/2014
  • "Food was delicious. Parking situation ridiculous!! The valet directly across from the restaurant charges $10 . Beware it is a rip off."
    Dined on 7/11/2014
  • "Daily special seafood casserole was not described properly by waiter. It was too rich, too much cheese and drowned the flavor of seafood. Shrimp and grits were good Wine was good Usually I just order good appetizers so perhaps will continue to do so."
    Dined on 7/7/2014
  • "This was the 2nd time for us here. Both times the food was excellent. This time, on a Saturday, they ran out of the special at 8pm. that was weak. I did sub in trout and it was great. Fairly limited menu but everyone at the table had a great meal."

  • "The food was expensive and not very good. I had the filet mignon and it was spicy. I have never had a bad filet mignon until now. My husband had 6 oysters that were $16.50 (way over priced) and he had the shrimp and grits which he didn't really care for either. The place is really small with only one bathroom for women and one bathroom for men. There was always a line to go to the bathroom. It was super noisy. I couldn't even carry on a conversation with my husband because it was so loud in there."

  • "It's worth the drive from Ft Lauderdale for this outstanding seafood restaurant....the grilled octopus appetezier BEST we've had, and we order it frequently. The oysters were fresh and the lobster roll rivals Boston...casual but the food as good as a formal restaurant...the waitres Jen, described all the food preparation very professionally and everyone very friendly and welcoming.....recommend it highly...we will be back"

  • "I have heard both good and bad things about Racks. So it was about time that i gave it a try to see if its worth the high price tag. Service was excellent, Our server amazing, Jenn Chatterton made our night extraordinary. Please give her a raise. Our food was great when compared to the other restaurants on the avenue. But bottom line is that i will be back very soon."

  • "The food as usual is very good, the service is very slow. We were a party of 4 and we never ate together. 2 appetizers came out, then another 5 minutes later and 10 minutes later the fourth after we asked the manager where it was. Same with entrees."
    Dined on 6/28/2014
  • "Rack's had a great selection of Oysters and most of our food was good. The lobster roll was not great. The Parkerhouse Rolls are not quite as good as they are at the Parkerhouse in Boston. Overall it was good for the price."

  • "Disappointed. Price was just too high compared to value for food"
    Dined on 6/27/2014
  • "Too loud in the dining room with okay service and expensive entrees--$30 plus for fresh fish."
    Dined on 6/27/2014
  • "It was so a wonderful time and night, as my wife and I really enjoyed our time there."
    Dined on 6/20/2014
  • "Restaurant is excellent. The waiters were able to accommodate us by serving salt free. The calamari appetizer was superb. The oysters were outstanding."
    Dined on 6/14/2014
  • "We do not, so it's hard to judge this restaurant. We were expecting a more diverse menu, which they do not have. If you are not a seafood lover I suggest you check out the menu before you go. Folks around s seemed to really be enjoying their fish and shellfish."
    Dined on 6/14/2014
  • "This was our first time at Racks and will be back for sure! Thought the service was exceptional. The salmon I had was cooked to perfection and loved the selection of sides."
    Dined on 6/14/2014
  • "As always the food was great and the service from "Jean" perfect."
    Dined on 6/12/2014
  • "It's one thing to be included on the avenue as a great contender of restaurants, and it's another thing to be able to blow the competition away! Talk about good food all you want, it's more then just good food, the ambiance is incredible and the service is friendly and professional. We shared a couple of fish tacos and I got the power bowl with quinoa sprinkled in the salad. One of a kind lunch that we will be back for next week!"
