  • "This is an outstanding restaurant in every way. We love the atmosphere--trendy and unique. Service is top-notch: our servers were knowledgeable, friendly, and couldn't do enough to make our experience a delight. And the food is beyond excellent. Presentation is beautiful and upscale, the food outstanding, and the chef is highly skilled. He created a 4-course vegan meal for my friend and me that was absolutely delicious! By the way, this was not on the menu--he just accommodated our needs and the result was beyond our expectations. Also, portions are more than adequate. In short, I would highly recommend Racine to anyone who is looking for a top-notch dining experience. We'll definitely be back--again and again!"

The star of the night was definitely the foods. The ingredients were interesting, the plating was very attractive, and the taste was outstanding. We were pleasantly surprised.   • "This was our second visit to Racine in as many months. The first plus is that it is a BYOB in a small intimate space. We found the choices to be interesting combinations of ingredients with excellent results. We tried almost everything on the menu and loved it all. The red snapper was done to perfection and our meat lovers were thrilled with how the meats were prepared and cooked. We also love how many ingredients are locally sourced. We would highly recommend Racine."

  • "Our dinner at Racine's local farm to table style restaurant was excellent. Each menu item seemed very thoughtfully conceived of and prepared, which was affirmed by the multiple layers of flavor in every individual bite of the course selections ordered by our foursome. I'm still thinking about my second course, Parsnip & Celariac Puree. For me it was a perfect blend of subtle texture combined with rich flavor. Thank you Chef Vassos for genuinely memorable taste experiences."

  • "Racine is a hidden treasure that hopefully everyone will soon find. Everything was wonderful from start to finish. One of us has some dietary restrictions, and the chef was so accommodating. The servers were very attentive, and so friendly and interactive. The menu is unusual and might be a little intimidating to some people, but the servers were very knowledgeable in explaining ingredients and terms that may not be familiar to everyone. I couldn't recommend a better restaurant in the area."

  • "I picked this restaurant based on reviews that I had seen which held the culinary offerings in high regard. I was not disappointed! Menu offerings were limited, but everything that came out of the kitchen was a home run. The bonus was in the price ... I felt that I got more than I paid for. The offset was in the facility ... It was way outclassed by the cuisine .... I would choose that any day, and I will choose Racine again soon!"

  • "Really enjoyed our first time as Racine. We were seated at the chef's counter which was good and bad. Good that we could witness the care that the chef and cooks took in preparing each dish and that we were far from the front door - freezing cold when door's opened. Bad that it's a little uncomfortable. Service is exc; servers worked as a team and stayed on top of diners' needs. The food was all good to very good.Only complaint might be that some dishes were a little too salty. The gravlox and beetscape appetizers were both good. Presentation on all dishes was very good. Their method of curing beef gave the strip steak a very unique and enjoyable flavor. Highly recommend the sea bass. Server made the right call for red velvet for dessert."

  • "Wow, truly an outstanding dining experience. Each dish prepared well, seasoned perfectly and presented in a very appetizing fashion. We routinely drive down to Philly but driving to pottstown frankly never entered the equation. If you live anywhere close Racine is definitely worth the trip for a great meal in a place that feels like it could be a must visit in any city. Only people who won't like it are those with very specific likes and who ask for special preparations as the menu by design is limited."

  • "This restaurant is my new favorite! It has a very cool vibe and is located in a brownstone on King Street. Although it is fairly small, it does not feel cramped or too noisy. If Racine's were in Philly, it would be one of the best in the city. When I have dined here, the dishes have been comprised of fairly common ingredients, so it has always been easy to find a dish that will appeal to everyone's taste. But, the way they are prepared and combined are so unique, fun, artful, absolutely delicious and unexpected. The portions are good sized, and I feel good about the fact that local, high quality, organic food is used when possible. I can't wait to taste the dishes created this summer when there is an abundance of fresh produce."

  • "I am amazed at the quality Chef has brought to bare in this small out-of-the-way restaurant. Many of the dishes are truly unique such as the Onsen Egg dish which is a participatory indulgence which, if you follow their directions, gets better bite by bite. WARNING: the dish results in a bit of a mess. The only criticisms I have are that sometimes the amuse buche are not perfect, I find the duck a little too chewy and the menu with three choices in each course is a little too limited . Otherwise, this could be in Philadelphia or New York City drawing 4 stars, it's that good. All I wish for is that it reaches 5 stars!"

  • "After our first "I'm not impressed" visit shortly after opening, we gave them a second chance. After viewing the menu online we knew it would be a better experience. After being seated we notice that the menu had changed and now both of us could not eat most of the items available. When my husband expressed his disappointment to our server he was met with an aggressive (not to mention loud [enough for everyone to turn to see what was taking place] defensive response/excuse. Overall the service is less than expected and the staff (which was the same each visit) could use a course of acceptable service responses when your clientele is not happy. It's also unacceptable to discuss the pervious owner since the community favors him well."

  • "We were pleasantly surprised to happen upon this neighborhood gem. We were in town for one night for our daughters' hockey game and couldn't believe the exquisite food. The presentation and service was outstanding. We had the warm kale salad and the scallops. Truly a delight in every bite. Layers of flavor in each morsel. We are definitely going back on the next hockey trip. A must for any foodie but don't forget to BYOB! We have already recommended it to friends."

  • "Restaurant Racine is a fine dining oasis in a region with few such options available. The menu is unique and updated frequently, having dependency on the ingredients available at local farmer's markets and the like. The chef's extremely beautiful and creative presentation of each plate was extraordinary, like looking at a small piece of artwork with every course. The menu changes frequently, and they have a Facebook page where you can see photos of the dishes, and the menu as it's updated. I heartily recommend experiencing the understated elegance of the dining room, and the unique food -- immediately!!"

  • "My husband and I loved Funky L'il Kitchen (the previous restaurant in this location) and were excited to try Racine. For the most part, we were very happy with our experience. Atmosphere is trendy. The wait staff was excellent: friendly, attentive, knowledgeable. The menu was unique, organic, and varied and we loved everything (even the rare beef which we never eat!). Portions were generous and food nicely/uniquely presented. Only problem was my cobia was barely cooked, which was a bit of a stomach turner for me. They were very apologetic and recovered very nicely--I got a brand new fully cooked entrée that was delicious, and our desserts were free. We will definitely give this restaurant a second chance."

  • "Date night was a huge success and this place topped it off. The food was delicious and the service was perfect. It's BYOB. They use locally grown, seasonal fruits and vegetables. If it's on the menu, be sure to get the chicken liver pâté. It's served with baby dills, picked blueberries and some sort of horseradish smear. I took a chance; glad I did. I could not believe how delicious it was. That was the first course, and it just kept getting better. I can't wait to go back!"
