    A foggy day in Mill Valley sent us looking for the sun in the wine country. The girl and the fig was the perfect lunch spot, warm day, outside under the umbrellas, the temperature, the food, the service, thank you, Noah, all terrific! Even our dog, Lucy, enjoyed sitting under the table and her great, big water bowl!

    Dennis was a wonderful waiter who made my mother and I feel like we were his favorite patrons. I hope we made him feel like he was our favorite waiter. It was my mother’s 90th birthday and she had fallen during our stay at Solage the day before. Dennis helped take her mind off the nasty fall and connected her with wonderful food. Thank you! We will be back~ Susan

    This restaurant came highly recommended by travel blogs & friends! They gave my husband and I a glass of champagne on the house to celebrate our anniversary which made us feel so special. Service was amazing. The food was great. Big portions and plenty of frites with the mussels and steak! Left very happy

    I typically love this restaurant. The food is always great. However, the staff at the hostess station could use guidance on the meaning of hospitality. I had made a reservation for four (well in advance). It was a very warm day and we were seated outside. I made a point of asking to be out of the sun. We were seated at a table where the sun was shining directly on two in our party. As we approached the table I asked if we could be seated at another table that was in the shade and told no it was for another party. As I watched my son's arms burn from the sun, the table I had asked for sat empty the entirety of our meal. I understand things happen at restaurants, it's a difficult business. But when I expressed my dissatisfaction with the hostess and several others at the hostess station, rather than apologizing for my dismissal dining experience, I was met with a defensive, unapologetic and rude hostess. Firstly, our table should not have been utilized at all, secondly be gracious and apologize for goodness sake. You're in the business to make people happy. It was an expensive meal and a miserable hour of scorching in the sun. Thank you very much.

    Wonderful place to have a birthday lunch! There were plenty of selections for everyone and the food was great! The portions are also very generous and the service impeccable. Enjoyed the Wild Flounder Meuniere and the Mushroom Tartine. The lemon meringue pie with huckleberries was also very good! I highly recommend this restaurant.

    Great birthday lunch!! We got there early and they were able to seat us no problem. The patio was the perfect temp and they kept the water coming. The birthday treat at the end was the perfect ending to a light lunch on a hot day. Totally recommend their quiche Lorraine, super light and yummy. Thanks for making it a special bday!

    Girl and the Fig is a favorite of ours every time we visit Sonoma. The food on our most recent visit was phenomenal as always, and we love sitting outside in the back patio area. On our most recent visit, however, the reservation and seating experience was terrible. Our table was not ready at the time of our reservation, which sometimes happens. This time, we weren’t seated until 45 minutes after our reservation time. As we were waiting for our table, we were virtually ignored with minimal updates. Got to the point where we nearly walked out. I went on Open Table to grab a reservation at another restaurant when we were finally greeted by the person who ended up being our server…Joseph. He brought us drinks and once we got seated, he provided top notch service. He saved the experience!
