R Steak & Seafood @ The Riviera Hotel & Casinocut short by a fireWe had a very enjoyable evening starting with happy hour in the bar and progressing to dinner in the restaurant. We just ran two bills, no problem. We shared everything, the portions are generous. The serving staff were great! We were almost finished with our desserts when smoke started pouring in through an air conditioning vent. We were all escorted from the restaurant in a calm manner. We were told someone had thrown a burning towel on the roof. Anyway, our dinner was comped and they gave us replacement desserts and wine to go. That is real service. The hotel needs work but the R Steak & Seafood was amazing. Someone came by and said he was our server's partner and cleared our table and offered desserts. Never saw our server again after checking on our dinners. Then it took another 15 - 20 min ( I was watching because we were on a schedule) to get check and pay. Yes we had coupons, But my husband and I have eaten here on our last three trips to Vegas, and we always tip on the TOTAL amount. We had reservations at 5:30pm and were seated right away with our choice of a booth. The wait staff NEVER let our glasses go empty and were there at all times. I ordered the prime rib and it was AMAZING. My friend ordered the salmon and she stated it was the best piece of fish that she has had. I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. The entire staff was very friendly and it created a very relaxing and enjoyable experience.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMAn oasis of calm and good foodThe recently refurbished R Steam & Seafood restaurant at the Riviera Hotel offers an excellent choice of dishes and a great wine list. The food was very good and the ambiance of the restaurant was welcoming, quiet and professional. The restaurant offered excellent value for money compared to many of it's competitors in town.
